Functional & Deployment view - Data services

AAA Server receives AAA request from an Access Server and send responses back to the Access Server after consulting HSS or local Database Repository with user credentials.

AAA Server queries HSS or Local DB that

maintains the information about all the Service Profiles for the Services. HSS also the main repository for all Subscriber data and the subscriptions of those subscribers to different services.

AAA Server updates IN for subscriber charging after receiving Accounting start, stop and Interim packets etc from the Access Server/BRAS.

Policy Server sends policy based triggers for service control to AAA. The AAA Server sends RADIUS CoA (Change of Authorization) packet etc to the BRAS or Access Server based on the received triggers, thus informing it about the new bandwidth/package information etc.

• Replication: AdvOSS database designs separate the OLTP Servers where all writing of new data is going on from the OLAP Servers where all heavy reads and analytical processing is going on. This provides almost limitless scalability as it is possible to put more and more servers all getting a copy of data in real-time where heavier processing can be done without effecting the master Transaction Processing Servers.

AdvOSS uses different technologies in combination to achieve redundancy in the systemStorage Redundancy: All databases are redundant and use advanced multi-master replication techniques to keep up to date with each other.

Multi-Master replication offers computation redundancy as well. Processing can be switched to secondary servers in real-time without loss of continuity.

• Switching and AAAAll Switching and AAA architectures work on a dispatcher / Serving node architecture. Dispatcher does real-time load balancing among all Serving Nodes. If any Serving node goes down, processing carries on through other available nodes.

The System can be deployed in geographically distant data centers, for disaster recovery reasons. Using the DR setup, existing services realized through AdvOSS Solution deployed at main site can keep on working in the case of a disaster that makes primary solution unavailable for any reason.
