Strengths Based Leadership

• Gallup scientists studied over 1 million work teams, conducted more than 20,000 in-depth interviews with leaders, and interviewed more than 10,000 followers around the world

• Goal: to understand why people follow

• More than 10,000 ‘followers’ were asked to think of a leader that has a positive influence on their daily life– Then list three words that best describe what this

person contributes to their life

Federal Employee Engagement

• Based on a 2010 MSPB survey of approx. 42,000 Federal employees regarding their motivation and engagement in the performance of their work

• Study found that Federal agencies can make better use of rewards flexibilities by seeking insight into what employees' value and crafting rewards around them
