To commemorate new milestones of the Association and the Movement – from

successfully conquering new heights and territories to standing up from natural

calamities or man-made challenges that hit us – we will be hosting four (4) events as part

of the celebration of the 41st PHILRECA Annual General Membership Meeting, Year-

end Strategic Conference, and Thanksgiving on December 1-4, 2020 with the theme

“Charging for the Future: Strengthening the One EC MCO Movement Towards a resilient Rural

Electrification Program.”

The events are as follows:

We would like to enjoin all officers, employees, and Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs)

of the 121 Electric Cooperatives to participate in these competitions and showcase their

talents, creativity, and skills. The entries for this year’s competition should be inspired

by how the entire rural electrification sector pursued its mission and advocacy despite

the successive catastrophes specifically during last year’s earthquakes and typhoons,

and just recently, the volcanic eruption and life-altering COVID-19 pandemic.

SOUVENIR PROGRAM COVER DESIGN COMPETITION

Competition Title Disenyo ng Liwanag at Pag-asa

Description The Souvenir Program Cover Design Competition

is about finding the best design that will be used for

the Souvenir Program for this year’s Annual

General Membership Meeting, Year-end Strategic

Conference, and Thanksgiving.

Objective The competition aims to find the best depiction of

the impact of electricity in the community and

every household especially in time of successive

catastrophes during 2019 to 2020 when our MCOs

have endured the natural calamities like

earthquakes, typhoons, volcanic eruption, and the

COVID-19 pandemic. The design should highlight

the role of every Warrior of Light and efforts and

sacrifices of the entire sector in ensuring the

availability of electricity whenever and wherever it

is needed.

Target Participants The competition is open to all current employees of

the Electric Cooperative (EC) and EC Board of

Directors.

Mechanics

1. Each participant must accomplish an Entry/Registration Form to qualify

as an official entry. A completely filled up and signed entry/registration

form should be submitted together with the entry and other requirements

for this competition. The Entry/Registration Form can be secured from the

Electric Cooperative or from PHILRECA’s website at www.philreca.org.

2. Each participant may submit ONE (1) ENTRY ONLY.

3. All entries must be the original work of the participants and must not

infringe on any third party’s existing copyrights.

4. All participants must submit the following:

a. A digital copy of his/her souvenir program cover design in size 1080

px by 1920 px and in .png file format.

b. The cover design shall include the logos of:

i. PHILRECA

ii. One EC-MCO Movement

iii. One EC Network Foundation, Inc.

SONGWRITING COMPETITION

Competition Title Musika ng Liwanag at Pag-asa

Description Anchoring on the wisdom that music is the language

of the soul, this Songwriting Competition aims to

showcase how we as a sector can be connected

emotionally despite barriers in language and musical

preferences. Through original writing, combination of

notes and instruments, and the coming together of

these elements in a musical video, this competition

will show that we have talented musicians in the

sector capable of capturing our hearts and soul.

Objective The competition aims to find the best vocal, lyrical,

and visual rendition of the impact of electricity in the

community and every household especially in time of

successive catastrophes during 2019 to 2020 when our

MCOs have endured the natural calamities like

earthquakes, typhoons, volcanic eruption, and the

COVID-19 pandemic. The music or lyrics should

highlight the role of every Warrior of Light and efforts

and sacrifices of the entire sector in ensuring the

availability of electricity whenever and wherever it is

needed.

Target Participants The song-writing competition is open to all current

employees of the Electric Cooperative (EC), EC Board

of Directors, NCCECO, REFC, OECNF, EC Allied

Organizations, EC Regional Associations and EC

Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs). Professional

experience in songwriting, composing, or related

experience IS NOT necessary.

Mechanics

1. Each participant must accomplish an Entry/Registration Form to qualify as

an official entry. A completely filled up and signed entry/registration form

should be submitted together with the entry and other requirements for this

competition. The Entry/Registration Form can be secured from the Electric

FILM MAKING COMPETITION:

NARRATIVE SHORT-FILM AND DOCUMENTARY NON-FICTION

Competition Title Kwento ng Liwanag at Pag-asa

Description The mission of energizing the countryside is full of

interesting challenges and success stories worthy of being

shared to our country men and being immortalized. This

Film Making Competition will hopefully showcase these

stories – whether actual events or those inspired by real

stories.

Objective The competition aims to find the best story – in both

categories – showing the impact of electricity in the

community and every household especially in time of

successive catastrophes during 2019 to 2020 when our

MCOs have endured the natural calamities like

earthquakes, typhoons, volcanic eruption, and the

COVID-19 pandemic. The short-film or documentary

should highlight the role of every Warrior of Light and

efforts and sacrifices of the entire sector in ensuring the

availability of electricity whenever and wherever it is

needed.

Mechanics

1. Each participant must accomplish an Entry/Registration Form to qualify as

an official entry. A completely filled up and signed entry/registration form

should be submitted together with the entry and other requirements for this

2. There is no limitation on the number of members per team but members of

the team cannot join more than one (1) group.

3. Each team may submit ONE (1) ENTRY ONLY.

4. All entries must be the original work of the participants and must not

infringe on any third party’s existing copyrights (this includes elements

such as background music and trade marks)

5. Participants may join in any one (1) of the two (2) categories under the Film

Making Competition

a. Narrative Short Film (Fiction)

b. Documentary (Non-fiction)

6. The output/submission should be a minimum of 5 minutes and not longer

than 10 minutes.

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Competition Title Imahe ng Liwanag at Pag-asa

Description The Photography Competition is about finding the best

captured moment showing how energization or rural

electrification has made an impact on the lives of the MCOs

or the community.

Objective The competition aims to find the best captured moment

depicting the impact of electricity in the community and

every household especially in time of successive

catastrophes during 2019 to 2020 when our MCOs have

endured the natural calamities like earthquakes, typhoons,

volcanic eruption, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The

picture should highlight the role of every Warrior of Light

and efforts and sacrifices of the entire sector in ensuring the

availability of electricity whenever and wherever it is

needed.

Target Participants 121 Electric Cooperatives, NCCECO, REFC, OECNF, EC

Allied Organizations, EC Regional Associations and EC

Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs)

Mechanics

1. Each participant must accomplish an Entry/Registration Form to qualify as

an official entry. A completely filled up and signed entry/registration form

should be submitted together with the entry and other requirements for this

competition. The Entry/Registration Form can be secured from the Electric

Cooperative or from PHILRECA’s website at www.philreca.org.

2. Each participant may submit ONE (1) ENTRY ONLY.

3. All entries must be the original work of the participants and does not

infringe on any third party’s existing copyrights.

4. Minimal photo enhancements are allowed (cropping, color enhancements,

brightness, sharpness) but major photo manipulations WILL BE

CONSIDERED VIOLATION OF THE RULES AND WILL SUBJECT THE

ENTRY FOR DISQUALIFICATION.

5. All participants must submit the following:

a. Photo entry in 4500x3000 resolution, .jpeg format, (Filename:

b. If the final copy submitted has been minimally manipulated, please

submit RAW copy of the photo as well (Filename: Raw_Full Name
