Council is holding a Community Planting Day to help improve our natural environment while allowing residents and community members to get outdoors, have some fun and meet new people. The event is on Sunday 6 May and more information is listed below. There is also an information session on retrofitting your home, on Saturday 5 May. You are welcome to come along from 10.30am until 12.30pm, to the Vic Foster Reserve Pavilion at 16–23 Pines Way, in Craigieburn and find out how you can retrofit your home to improve its energy and water efficiency. This session is free and bookings are essential on 9205 2200. Growing your own fruit is easy. Our Council is also holding a Community Fruit Orchard Planting Day. To find out more, come along to this event on Saturday 12 May. This event is being held as part of National Families Week and more information is listed below. Mother’s Day is on Sunday 13 May, and I hope all mothers in Hume have a happy day. National Families Week is on from Tuesday 15 May until Monday 21 May, making it a good time to celebrate with your family.
