    1. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    Exchangers, Compressors, Distillation Columns, Reactors,High-Pressure Vessels, Effluent Treatment Plant, Coolingtowers, Tank farm, Pressurized storage bullets, PumpHouse, etc.

    RefineryOperator/RefineryTechnician(Electrical)

    First Class Diploma (55%for SC candidates) inElectrical / Electrical &Electronics Engineering.

    For Refinery Operators (Power & Utilities):Minimum two years of relevant post qualification workexperience in operation of Steam driven TG sets / GasTurbine / Heat Recovery Steam Generators / paralleloperation of Generators with State Electricity Grid / ElectricalSub-Stations 415 volts & 6.6 KV / 110 KV Switchyard, etc. ina Power Plant of any industrial complex. Candidates with 'C'-certificate will be preferred.

    For Refinery Technicians (Maintenance-Electrical):Minimum two years of relevant post qualification workexperience in maintenance of Electrical equipments relatedto motor overhauling, motor trouble shooting, maintenanceof LT & HT Motors and HT (6.6kV/3.3kV) and LT (415 volts)switchgear, ability to read and understand control circuitdiagrams and troubleshoot the faults, and maintenance of LT

    For Refinery Technicians (Maintenance-Mechanical):Minimum two years of relevant post qualification workexperience in maintenance of rotary equipments such asProcess Pumps / Compressors / Turbine, Stationeryequipments such as boilers, heat exchangers, columnvessels, piping, valves and tanks etc. in a Process Industryincluding Refinery / Petro-chemical / Chemical / Fertilizer /Power Plant.

    Refinery

    Technician(Instrument-ation)

    First Class Diploma (55%

    for SC candidates) inInstrumentation /Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics &Instrumentation /Electronics &CommunicationsEngineering.

    Minimum two years of relevant post qualification work

    experience in maintenance of process controlinstrumentation in a process industry including Refinery /Petro-chemical / Chemical / Fertilizer / Power plant with aknowledge of Preventive and breakdown Maintenance /trouble-shooting and rectification of Field instruments-transmitters / control valves.

    Familiarity with Distributed control system / PLCs Ability toread P&ID and logic control diagrams - able to generatecalibration reports.

    RefineryTechnician(Automobile)

    First Class Diploma inAutomobile Engineering.

    Minimum two years of relevant post qualification workexperience in operation & maintenance of automobileequipments such as Cranes, Fork-lifts, Hydro-blastmachines, Tractors, DG sets, Air-compressors, Exchangerretubing machines in any industrial complex.

    Desirable: Shall possess heavy vehicle driving license.

    Age Limit: 30 years as on 30.06.2012 relaxable by 5 years for SC candidates, 3 years for OBCcandidates and 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) (15 years for PwD - SCs and 13 years forPwD - OBCs).

    Note:1. Freshers / candidates with less than 2 years experience may also apply, who will be engaged as

    Trainee on a consolidated monthly stipend. However, experienced candidates will be preferred.2. The Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, shall be considered as part of work

    experience.3. Reservations as per the Directives of the Government of India.

    2. Pay & Emoluments:

    Candidates having atleast two years of relevant post-qualification work experience will be appointed inthe pre-revised IDA Pay Scale of `5,800-11100 on a basic pay of `5,800/- (Rupees Five Thousand EightHundred only) in Grade III in Non-Supervisory cadre, subject to medical fitness. The Pay scales are duefor revision w.e.f. 01.01.2009.

    Candidates without or having less than two years of relevant post-qualification work experience will beconsidered as Trainees for a period of one year on a consolidated monthly stipend of `11,000/-(Rupees Eleven Thousand only). On successful completion of training and on being found suitable for

    the job, they will be appointed in the pre-revised IDA Pay Scale of `5,800-11100 on a basic pay of`5,800/- (Rupees Five Thousand Eight Hundred only) in Grade III in Non-Supervisory cadre.

    In addition to the Basic Pay and the DA, the other allowances / benefits include HRA / Self-Lease, PF,Gratuity, LTC / LFA, Reimbursement of Medical expenses, Superannuation benefits, etc., would beprovided according to the rules of the Company. The Cost to Company at the minimum of the pre-revised Pay Scale of `5,800-11100 works out to about `3.0 lakhs per annum.

    3. Mode of Selection:

    The selection shall be made through Written Test (to be held in Chennai only) and Personal Interviewof the short listed candidates. The written test is scheduled on 05.08.2012.

    4. General:

    1. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria and desiring to offer their services should submit theirapplications online by logging on to our website www.cpcl.co.in Applications will not be acceptedthrough any other mode.

    2. All the qualifications should be full time regular courses from a Government recognized University /Institute.

    3. Candidates are required to possess a valid e-mail id, which is to be entered in the application form,so that intimation regarding downloading of call letter for written test / interview can be sent. CPCL

    will not be responsible for any non-receipt / bouncing of any email sent to the candidates.

    4. Candidates not belonging to categories of SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities, shall attach with theRegistration Slip, a crossed Demand Draft for ` 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) as applicationfee (non-refundable) in favour of "CHENNAI PETROLEUM CORPORATION LIMITED", payable atChennai. Cheque / MO / Postal Order or any other mode of payment is not acceptable. SC / ST/ Physically Disabled candidates are exemptedfrom payment of application fee.

    5. Candidates (other than SC / ST / Persons with Disabilities) are required to furnish the details ofDemand Draft (towards application fee) in order to register their application online.

    6. All candidates may take note of the following steps in the process of online submission ofapplication:a) Login to www.cpcl.co.in

    b) Click on People & Careers and then Recruitment of Workmen - 2012c) Read the advertisement carefully and click Register online and fill up the online applicationform.

    d) Candidates not belonging to the category of SC / ST / Persons with Disabilities should haveobtained the Demand Draft beforehand, so as to enter the DD details in the online application.

    e) After entering all the required details, click on Submit and take a printout of the RegistrationSlip.

    f) Paste a recently taken passport size photograph on the Registration Slip; attach the DemandDraft (in case of Non SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities candidates) or attested copy of CasteCertificate in case of SC/ST candidates or disability certificate in case of Persons withDisabilities.

    g) Mention your name and registration number on the reverse of the Demand Draft / attested copyof Caste Certificate, as applicable.

    h) Send the registration slip (pasted with your recent passport size photograph) and DD as well asattested copy of Caste Certificate in an envelope superscribed as Application for the position ofWorkman, by ORDINARY POST ONLY to The Advertiser (CPCL), Post Box No. 9248,Krishna Nagar Head Post Office, New Delhi110051, so as to reach us latest by05.07.2012.

    i) You will be intimated about the details of written test latest by 20.07.2012.j) On receipt of the e-mail intimation, you will have to once again follow the steps in (a) and (b)

    above and click on Print Admit cardk) Take a printout of the Admit card, paste a recently taken passport size photograph (same as the

    one you pasted on the Registration Slip) on the Admit card and carry the Admit Card to theExamination venue on the date and time indicated therein.

    l) For reprinting of Registration Slip, follow the steps in (a) & (b) above, and click on ReprintRegistration Slip. Fill in the date of birth, email id or registration number and then click onContinue to view and reprint the Registration Slip.

    7. Online submission of applications will be kept open from 11.06.2012 to 30.06.2012 (both daysinclusive). Candidates are allowed to apply only once and applications once submitted cannot bealtered under any circumstances.

    8. The period of experience will be determined upto 30.06.2012.

    9. Candidates applying against Physically Disabled category shall have not less than 40% of relativedisability. An attested copy of the Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, viz. aMedical Board duly constituted by the Central or State Government shall be furnished, whileapplying, failing which their application will be rejected.

    10. For claiming the benefit of OBC category, the candidate should submit a proper Caste Certificate asper the proforma prescribed by the Government of India (copy available on our websitewww.cpcl.co.in ), which would, among others, specifically mention that the candidate does notbelong to the persons/sections (Creamy Layer) as mentioned in column 3 of the Schedule to OMNo.36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08-09-1993 of the Department of Personnel and Training in theGovt. of India.

    11. Candidates serving in Government Departments / PSUs should furnish NO OBJECTIONCERTIFICATE at the time of interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the

    interview.12. Selection and Appointment of candidates is subject to verification of Caste / Character &

    Antecedents from authorities concerned.

    13. SC/ST candidates called for Written test / Personal Interview will be reimbursed single Second ClassRailway / Bus fare from the nearest railway station of the mailing address to the place of test /interview and back by the shortest route on production of ticket, provided the distance is not lessthan 30 kms. Reimbursement will be made subject to submission of TA claim along with original railticket / receipt or photocopy thereof or original bus tickets(s) and copy of Community Certificate.Reimbursement of travel claim will not be allowed, if Community Certificate is not produced and if theSC / ST candidate is found ineligible as per Press Advertisement criterion.

    14. Candidates possessing higher qualification viz. Graduate Engineering Degree or equivalentare not eligible to apply. However, candidates pursuing higher qualification need to declare

    while applying online. Furnishing false / incorrect information or suppression of material fact(s), ifdetected at any stage even after appointment, shall invite termination of the service without anynotice.

    15. Management reserves the right to fill or not to f ill the posts and mere fulfillment of qualification,experience and other eligibility requirements laid down, does not entitle a candidate to be called forthe written test / interview.

    16. While applying for any post, the applicant should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility and othernorms mentioned above, as on the specified dates and that the particulars furnished are correct in allrespects.
