Adventures Of Rowan: the Golden knight and the Emerald gem.PrologueRowan was sitting in a dark cold alleyway. It was snowing at the time, The snow could chill you to the bone. Rowan shivered and breathed on his hands and rubbed them together to get warm. Rowan heard a distance sound of a cane hitting the paved road. Dinner rowan thought so he crept into the shadows near the entrance of the alleyway. The person passed by but with a swift motion he stole something from the persons pocket. Rowan looked at what was in his hands, It was not money but a night black stone. Rowan heard the noise of the cane coming back. The man came into the alleyway. Now that the man was closer he could see him better. The mans hair was as white as the snow that was falling, He also wore a lot of blue that was covered in snow. It is a bad night to be outside, Do you want to come to the nearest tavern said the man. Sure said rowan. Well then dont dawdle then said the man then shiver. They walked to the tavern nearby. So what do you want to eat, potato swimming in butter or some biscutes with tender chicken and maybe some blue berry pie covered in sugar said the man. Rowan shake his head at every thing said. Well then I will put in the order said the man. Rowan sat down in the chair at the table near the entrance. So whats your name said the man. The tavern owner put the food on the table right at that minute. Rowan dug into the food like there was no tomorrow. The chicken was warm and tender,the pie was dillisouces, and the patatos were buttery, and one biecket with jelly.rowan took a bite out of the biesket. I am surprised the stone has not killed you said the man. The bite of biesket went down like a stone. The stone is going to kill me? Thought rowan. Rowan pulled the stone out of his pocket. The world went black and he felt like he was being sucked in to the stone. I can help if you tell me your name said the man. It is rowan said rowan. The man said a few words in a different language and rowans name, and everything was back to normal. Rowan felled in to a exusted filled sleep.Chapter 1A month laterRowan can you get me the potion book volume 6 from the library said nevlin. Okay nevlin said rowan. Rowan left the workshop and went into the city streets. There was people hurrying to get home. Rowan looked at the sky guessing it was 3:20 PM. Rowan walked across the crowded street to the library steps. Rowan went in to the library and went to the card catalog. He checked under p and he found the card he was looking for. He went by row by row of old dusty tomes in till he got to the location of the book he was looking for. He grabbed the book and left the library. He looked up in to the sky to find ominous black clouds coming at a irregular pace.i should tell nevlin about this said rowan muttering. He walked back to the workshop to find it in a mess. Nevlin was nowhere in there he saw his wand and his lockpicking wires and his spell book. Beside them was a piece of paper that read the elder located on the southern road. Maybe I should tell the elder about nevlin disappearing said rowan muttering. He picked up his stuff and ran out of the workshop in a hurry. He ran past people who had a bewildered look. He went outside of the city southern gate. The elders house was not far from the gate. Rowan ran into the elders house. Elder I need your help the sky is black with clouds and nevlin is missing said rowan. Hmmm I have no idea what this means you should talk to the great tree said the elder. I dont know how to get there and how am I spouse to talk to a tree said rowan. Here is a amulet of tree speak and my monkey friend will show you the way said the elder. Thank you for the help said rowan. Rowan left the house and chased after the monkey in to the forest. The forest was dark and smelled of old dew. After awhile rowan stumbled in to a big clearing. In the middle of the clearing was a humongues tree. Rowan put on the amulet of treespeak. Hey tree do you know why are the clouds dark said rowan. what? said the tree. Do you know why the clouds are dark said rowan agina. The shadow king has returned, he is taking away the most strongest of wizards away so they will not try to stop him said the tree. Is there away to defeat him said rowan. Here is a magic ring to put the gems in, get all of the eight stones of the elements said the tree. A ring floated down into rowans outspread hands. How will I find them said rowan. I have a map in a hole that shows the way to the stones said the tree. Rowan found a hole in the back of the tree. The map was old and dusty. Return to me once you get all of them said the tree. Thank you said rowan. Rowan headed out of the clearing and out of the forest.Chapter 2I cant understand this ancient text said rowan. Hmm maybe I should ask the elder to translate the map said rowan. Rowan walked to the elders house. He looked in to the peephole in the door. The elder was no where in sight. Rowan saw a note on the door. I am out right now so come back later.maybe I should go in to town to get some spell ingredients said rowan. He walked into the magic shop a short distance away from the southern gate. Welcome said the shopkeeper. Hello said rowan.is this you first time in here said the shopkeeper.yes said the rowan. Well here is a beginner kit as a gift to make you come here more often said the shopkeeper. Rowan grabbed the package. Thanks said rowan. Rowan walked out of the magic shop. A thief ran out of the shadows and stole the package. Hey give that back said rowan. Rowan grabbed the thiefs arm.rowan spun the thief around so rowan could see the thiefs face. Let go said the thief. What is your name said rowan. It is ignis said the thief. Well ignis why did you want this package said rowan. I thought it had money in it said ignis. Nope just magic spell ingredients said rowan. You are a wizard? Said ignis.yes said rowan. Can I come with you on your journey said ignis. Okay said rowan. Where we headed said ignis. Well first do you have any weapons said rowan. No said ignis. Well lets go to the weapon shop not to far from here said rowan. Okay said ignis. They walked to the weapon shop not to far way from the magic shop. Wow said ignis looking at all the swords. Hey shopkeeper do you got any daggers said rowan. Yes I do I will be right back said the shopkeeper. 4 hours later. Can you hurry up said rowan. Keep your pants on I am almost there said the shopkeeper. Hmp said rowan. Ahh here it is said the shopkeeper. How much said rowan. This will be 5 silver pieces said the shopkeeper.here said rowan. Rowan handed the shopkeeper the money. Here you are and have a nice day said the shopkeeper.you too said rowan. When rowan and ignis left the store they found when they stepped out of the store they saw it was raining as hard as rocks. We should head to a tavern or we will be on the ground in a few minutes said rowan. They ran to the nearest tavern. Hey innkeeper its me rowan said rowan. Ahh it is good to see you agina and who is your little friend said the innkeeper. This is ignis said rowan. Well a friend of rowan is a friend of mine said the innkeeper. Um innkeeper we would like two rooms said rowan. That would usually cost 6 silver peiaces but for you I will make it 3 silver peiaces said the innkeeper. Thanks and can I have two of the usuals said rowan.that will be 12 silver peiaces, 9 for the meals, and 3 for the rooms said the innkeeper. Well here you go then said rowan. Rowan handed the innkeeper the money. So will you be sitting at your usual table said he innkeeper. Yes said rowan. Well I will diliver it there when it is ready said the innkeeper. Rowan and ignis walked over to the table near the door. They ate their meals. Lets go get to sleep said rowan. Okay said ignis. They walked to their rooms and slept.Chapter 3Rowan woke up. I should head down staers to see if ignis is awake. Rowan walked down the stairs as fast as he could with out falling down them. Hey ignis are you awake? Said rowan. Yea said ignis. Well then I will order us some breakfast said rowan. Okay I will find us a seat said ignis. We should stick together said rowan. Okay said ignis.after breakfast. Well that was some good food said rowan. Two guards in black armor came in. hold your hands up criminals said one of the guards. Why? Said rowan. What did we do? Said ignis. You are under arrest by order of the lord said the second guard. Ignis hand me the dagger whispered rowan. Ignis handed the dagger to rowan. Hey guards here is a joke, what happen to two people with a knife in them said rowan. I dont know said the guards. They died said rowan. He threw the dagger and it went right through the guard one by one. When there bodys hit the floor they disappeared leaving only their armor. Put one of the suits on said rowan. Ignis and rowan both put on a suit of armor. They walked outside of the tavern.there where five guards waiting outside. All clear said rowan. We will search somewhere else said rowan. Well then you do that said one of the guards. Rowan and ignis walked to the south gate trying to avoid more guards. Near the south gate they saw a bollition board with their pictures on it stating them as criminals. We should go to the elders house fast said rowan. Yea said ignis. When they got to the southern gate a guard stepped in front of them. Where do you two think your going said the guard. We will check around outside to see if the criminals went that way said rowan. Okay you may pass said the guard. Rowan and ignis walked out of the gate and headed to the elders house. Elder we need your help said rowan. It is not safe here said the elder. Can you translate this map said rowan. Let me see this map then said the elder. Rowan handed the map he got from the great tree to the elder. Hmm this is in a old language so it will take some time to fully translate it but by looking at it the most closest gem would be inside the great tree said the elder. Well bye then said rowan. Wait said the elder. What said rowan. Here said the elder. The elder threw a stone that was as clear as glass to rowan. It is a cumnitation stone, it makes it so we can speak to each other no matter how far we are said the elder. The two of them headed to the forest.Chapter 4Rowan and ignis got to the large clearing in the middle of the forest. Hey great tree said rowan. You got the gems already said the great tree. No but we came here for the gem of earth said rowan. You can get the stone from the temple under my roots there is away down behind me said the great tree. Rowan and ignis went behind the great tree to find a staircase made out of stone. Well lets go down then said rowan. Okay said ignis. They went down the stairs to find a large stone door. We should head back up said rowan. They headed back up the stairs. Hey great tree how do we open the door said rowan. You need the earth talisman, I have it but to get it you need to answer this riddle said the great tree. Okay I am ready to hear the riddle said rowan. I bring death to all, turn stone to dust, I take more then I give, what am I said the great tree. Rowan thought about the answer. It is time said rowan. Here is the earth talisman use it well said the great tree. Something fell from the trees branches. Rowan picked up the talisman. Thank you said rowan. He went back to the staircase and went down them. The talisman started to glow a dark green and sent a beam of light at the door. With a sound of grating stone the door opened. They looked at what was behind the door. They saw a wall with words on it. I think I can read them said ignis. what does it say ignis said Rowan. it says to get the gem you must pass three trials said Ignis. Well lets head in then said rowan. They walked in to the room behind the wall. A old priests ghost looked on to them. Your first trial is to get to the end of this maze said the ghost. Walls came up from the floor. Rowan and ignis went left in the maze. They saw a wall. This is not a maze just walls that are in the shape of the symbol of air said rowan. The walls disappeared. You have passed the first trial said the ghost. Wow that was easy said rowan. That was because it is the first one said the ghost. Rowan and ignis headed in to the next room. They saw a old widows ghost. Your next trail is to empty this cup by drinking it said the ghost. Okay seems simple enough said rowan. Rowan drunk the contents of the cup. When he looked in to the cup he was surprise to see it was full. Rowan saw the floor was made out of old dry dirt that seemed to never get water. Rowan scupped up the dirt and put the dirt in the cup. The cup must have been enchanted long ago so that when a living being drunk out of it, that it would be always full but since dirt is not alive then the spell does not work and the dirt did drink it after all said rowan. You have passed the second trail now go face the last trial said the ghost. Rowan and ignis headed to the next room. They saw a knight with golden armor on. Deafet me to get the jewel said the knight. I will not fight you if there is no need to also you cant hurt us since a knight would never fight a unarmed opponent said rowan. Yes that is true but you friend has a weapon, the small dagger so that makes him a armed oppent which I can fight said the knight. Well then I guess we have to said rowan. Rowan took out his wand and started to talk in the way of magic. Eas figsd cyre floredn ignis said rowan. A ball of fire came hurtling at the knight. The knight got hit by the fireball full blow, knocking him to the floor. You have bested me here is the gem said the knight. The knight stood up and walked over to rowan and ignis. He stopped in front of them and held out his hand. In his palm there was a sparkling forest green emerald. Now take your prize said the knight. Rowan picked up the gem out of the knights palm. Rowan placed the gem before the ring. The gem shrunk down and locked in to place on the ring in one of the slots made for the gems. Out of rowans pocket the stone that the elder gave him fell out. I think we should tell the elder that the mission was a secss said rowan. Yes but lets wait intill we get out of here.
