Aerospace

Our high performance aerospace systems are compatible with emerging net-centric concepts assuring enhanced situational awareness, faster decision making and optimal response. Our unique airborne Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions, provide pilots with data communications and real-time situation pictures as well as the tools to share mission-critical data with ground and naval platforms. Our focus is on fusion; the ability to meld data derived from intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance sources and carry out joint, seamless operations between air to air, air to ground, manned and unmanned platforms via common avionics and C4I solutions.The multidisciplinary concept extends to designing training and simulation systems that accommodate evolving missions and combine air and ground systems in a single architecture.

From a single sensor to an entire cockpit avionics suite - total solutions from a single sourceWith our comprehensive airborne systems capabilities, we can provide a single sensor or an entire cockpit avionics suite.We integrate our systems on fixed and rotary-wing, eastern and western, new and mature aircraft. We also supply unique commercial avionic systems and aero structures for civilian aircraft, and our airborne systems are installed as original equipment in new aircraft.

The Company incorporates a wide range of core products and technologies into integrated high-performance avionic systems. From flight instrumentation to head-up and helmet-mounted displays to guided weapons, we provide battle-proven electronic and electro-optic combat systems for air forces worldwide. Our systems are designed to be net-centric oriented, intelligent, fast and precise.

Making the pilot’s job easier - Helmet Mounted Systems (HMS) Initially, helmet systems were designated for aiming aircraft weapon systems. Elbit Systems' advanced helmet systems enhance pilot situational awareness by concentrating data from all aircraft systems and displaying it spatially in front of the pilot’s eyes.Our latest configuration, which is the result of a continuous development process, also has safety advantages: the pilot's head does not have to be lowered to read vital data, everything is displayed on the pilot's visor.

We have established a clear leadership position in the HMS market. We have innovated and integrated generations of HMS and Helmet Mounted Displays (HMDs) for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. Our solutions are designed by experienced combat pilots and are operational with a large number of customers throughout the world. These systems are supplied as part of our turnkey modernization programs, as well as on a stand-alone basis.

No longer ‘up in the air’, the pilot and aircrew are connected, situationally-aware and capable of carrying out joint operations with forces on the ground or at sea. Our focus is on fusion – unifying forces to win.

Tactical Radio FamiliesVHF: Very high frequency (VHF) band is the backbone of tactical communications on the battlefield. Covering 30 to 88MHz (30 to 108MHz extended), this band provides ground, naval and air forces with reliable communication. Its secured (encryption) and immunized (frequency-hopping)

short and medium-range radio communication channels for voice and high-speed data and video communications enable it to reach command and control at all echelons.

HF: Exploiting the ionosphere’s ability to mirror high-frequency (HF) signals, this band provides extremely long-range communications at relatively low-transmitted power. Unlike satellite communications, HF radio communications covering the 1.5 to 30MHz range are independent and self-controlled, assuring military and other widely-deployed organizations with reliable long-range radio communications. In the battle space, HF communications are utilized for long-range command and control, making this frequency band applicable for both tactical and strategic communications. Our HF family provides secured and immunized voice and data communications to suit a wide range of operational configurations and requirements.

It is well suited for special forces, enabling ground-to-ground and ground-to-air communications from the palm of the hand.

TadiranSDR-7200: The Tadiran SDR-7200 is a true software-defined radio with the potential to revolutionize battle-group communications via fewer radios with more capability. A single Tadiran SDR-7200 is capable of operating on more than one network simultaneously, thus reducing the number of radios required in vehicles and enabling reduction in both weight and volumetric space.

TadiranPNR-500: The Tadiran PNR-500 has been designed to meet the needs of the individual soldier on the battlefield ensuring continued communications and coordination at all times. Deployed at the platoon or company level, the Tadiran PNR-500 provides voice and data communications over a 1500m range. The radio’s light weight, long range and comprehensive set of features are rarely found in similar equipment, thereby making it an important component for effective C4I. The Tadiran PNR-500 is ideal for infantry, special forces, forward observers, snipers and anti-terror units.

Elbit Systems' Policy on Social Responsibility

Elbit Systems places substantial importance on social responsibility to the communities in which we live and work. This is consistent with the Company's policy of emphasizing ethics in our business practices. Our social responsibility policy is expressed in many different ways with a common theme: an ongoing inter-relationship with the community. Our policy enhances and encourages the voluntary efforts of our companies and employees who donate their time and efforts in the support of members of our communities who are in need.

In this regard, we place priority on initiatives to promote educational advancement, particularly in the technology sectors. As an organization with extensive know-how and technology resources, as well as a long-term strategic approach to management, we see the education of the youth of today and future generations as the basis for continual growth and advancement of society, both for the high-tech and scientific spheres in general and for the Company specifically.

A major activity resulting from our social responsibility policy is facilitating the placement of our employees as tutors in peripheral communities and less developed neighborhoods. These tutors provide the younger generation accessibility to technology-related knowledge as well as other educational resources generally lacking in those areas.

Examples of our ongoing projects in Israel to enhance technical education in the community include:

• Dozensofemployeesvolunteeringastutorsintechnical subjects for junior and senior high school students in Tirat Carmel;

• Installingatelescopeontheroofofourfacilityin Sderot to assist students studying astronomy;

• Employeesvolunteeringtoteachbasicelectro-optics to high school students in the Upper Galilee as well as in the town of Sderot;

• AscholarshipprogramforstudentsofEthiopianbackground at the Technion and Haifa University, which includes the opportunity to integrate work at Elbit Systems during the course of their studies.

We also promote numerous other community support activities in Israel, in the United States and in other countries in which we have subsidiaries. We encourage employees to volunteer for activities that help persons in need such as single-parent families, the elderly and those with disabilities.
