In the last years, several transport processes (namely, heat and mass transfer)textbooks have been published. Transport processes in porous materials is a fieldof great technological and industrial interest and the applied research in heat andmass transfer in porous materials has generated increasing interest over the pastfive decades because of the importance of porous materials and transport processesin many engineering applications. A large amount of literature has been generatedon this subject and significant advances have been made in modelling fluid flowand heat and mass transfer through porous materials.

The purpose of this book, Industrial and Technological Applications ofTransport in Porous Materials, is to provide a collection of recent contributions inthe field of heat and mass transfer in porous media and their industrial and tech-nological applications.

The main benefit of the book is that it discusses some of the most importanttopics related to transport phenomenon in engineering and their future applica-tions. It includes a set of new technological applications in the field of heat andmass transfer phenomena in a porous medium domain, such as drying technology,filtration, infrared thermography, energy, recycling, etc. At the same time, thesetopics will be encountered in a variety of scientific and engineering disciplines,such as chemical, civil, agricultural, mechanical engineering, etc. The book isdivided into several chapters that intend to be a resume of the current state ofknowledge for the benefit of professional colleagues.
