An example of this is the End User CompungProject for the migraon to Windows 7 within

the Customer environment This project provided

APP with the ideal plaorm to execute on our

commitment In the execuon of this project

APP ulised engineers from the region where the

services were required as opposed to ulising

engineers from Gauteng The minimum skillset for

the engineers was A+ and N+ and the engineers

were provided with all the training and support

required to execute tasks eecvely

This project allowed APP to develop individuals

from the various regions empowering them with

the experience to allow them the opportunity

to pursue addional work within the region

This ensured that APP met the commitments

to the Naonal Development Plan - in terms of

localisaon of skills and employing individuals

from the locaon within which the service was

required

98 of all engineers recruited for this project fall

under the category of Historically Disadvantaged

Individuals (designated as Black under the BBBEE

codes)

As part of our ramp up process APP also recruited

trainee engineers and data capturers on an

internship basis These individuals possessed

limited skills and experience and were given the

opportunity to gain experience by working on this

project

Training was provided for both the technical as

well as so skill requirements for the successful

execuon of this service 100 of all interns

recruited fall under the category of Historically

Disadvantaged Individuals (designated as Blackunder the BBBEE codes) This is APPrsquos contribuon

to the development and sustainability of South

Africa

In addion during the project APP hand selected

engineers and developed them into Team Leaders

These engineers have been equipped with

the skillsets and experience to manage teams

of people and work at a junior management
