This six-session Great Decisions program will focus on some of the most thought-provoking foreign

policy challenges facing Americans: Middle East Alliances, The Rise of ISIS, The Future of Kurdistan, Migration, The United Nations, and Climate Change. Participants will use a briefing book pub-lished by the Foreign Policy Association and will be led in discussion by facilitator Keith West.

Tuesday, November 29, 6 – 8 pm (drop in)Are you new to Wilmington or have you lived here for a while and wish to know more about the community? Then please come to the Welcome to Wilmington Reception. Representatives from town departments, community groups, and local businesses will be on hand to welcome you and answer your questions. Refreshments will be served. This program is in col-laboration with Wilmington Chamber of Commerce.

Share Your Hobbies and Skills with Your CommunitySkillshare brings together people willing to share their knowledge and skills with others through library supported workshops. If you are skilled in the creative arts such as painting, needlework, paper craft-ing, etc. or if you have lifestyle skills such as cooking, home decorating, basic car repair, raising chickens, etc. or if you are tech savvy or have any other hobby or interest, consider sharing your talent with the community.

To participate, please submit an application by December 31. Applications are available on our website and at the library. Approved workshops will be scheduled during 2017. All Skillshare workshops are presented on a voluntary basis and are free and open to the public.

Cemetery StrollSaturday, September 17, 10 amThis year’s Cemetery Stroll will include visits to the gravestones of important Wilmington families. Eames, Butters, Bucks, Harndens, Carters, and Jaquiths are just a few of the names that appear frequently in the cemetery. Learn what these families contributed to Wilming-ton’s history, while enjoying one of the most beautiful spots in our town. Wear your walking shoes! The Stroll will begin in the parking lot behind the library.

Day, Veterans Agent Lou Cimaglia will moderate a panel of Wilmington resi-dents who served their country in the various branches of the armed forces. The panelists will share their military experiences and personal stories.

A representative from The Reading Mu-nicipal Light Department will talk about ways to conserve energy and save money on electric bills, types of billing options, RMLD’s mobile app, audits, and more.

Saturday, September 24, 9 am – 12 pmTown Common Parking Lot (note new location)The library, in partnership with the Wilmington Community Fund, will host the sixth annual on-site shredding day. Two shredding trucks will be on hand to handle the volume. This event is meant for households. We reserve the right to limit the amount of shredding due to wait time or truck space, if needed. Paper clips, rubber bands, and staples do not have to be removed. Shred-ding is free to the public, but donations to the food pantry are encouraged and welcomed.
