Slide 5 - Enhancements Overview
Slide notesWorkforce Modeling in release 10 provides the ability to terminate workers. Support for positions is also improved and validation on salary entry is tightened.
For the first time, you can terminate workers within Workforce Modeling, allowing you to view the impact of a single or mass termination before seeking approval. Termination modeling can be part of a wider model such as a re-organization, in other words, one model can encompass terminations, transfers and promotions, for example.
Grouping by position allows you to view the position hierarchy in Workforce Modeling. Support for position hierarchies is enhanced with the ability to record a position against a vacancy, allowing vacant positions to display.

Slide 6 - Terminating Workers
Slide notesIn addition to transferring and promoting workers, and changing manager or location within modeling, it is now possible to terminate workers using termination actions such as voluntary, involuntary, etc. You can terminate individual workers or a manager with their whole organization, streamlining your mass termination process.’
The impact of the termination or terminations in terms of headcount, salary cost and predicted effectiveness is calculated and displayed, providing you with immediate feedback on your modeled changes.
Modeled terminated workers are displayed as terminated in the organization chart and it is possible to cancel the termination, if, for example, the impact of the termination was detrimental to the business.
Modeled terminations are implemented in Fusion HCM after the final approval.

Slide 7 - Position Improvements
Slide notesThe position name is collected and stored against a modeled vacancy, allowing you to model vacant positions. Position synchronization means that you will be asked if you want to use the job, department and location recorded against the position when a new position is selected (this is also implemented in the edit assignment dialog).
You can also group the organization chart by positions, giving you a representation of the position hierarchy based on the manager assignment hierarchy.

Slide 8 - Workforce Modeling Enhancements
Slide notesThe enhancements to Workforce Modeling in release 10 will provide you with an intuitive interface with which to streamline your mass termination process or to just perform ad-hoc terminations or record resignations. In all cases you can review the impact of the changes before they are implemented.
For organizations using positions, it is now possible to record the position against a vacancy, allowing you to represent empty positions in the organization chart.

Slide 11 - Summary of Enhancement Capabilities
Slide notesHere is the summary of the features I have talked about today.
Workforce Modeling now allows you to model terminations using any of the termination action codes. Workers terminated in the model can have their termination cancelled. Terminations can be modeled alongside other changes, such as transfers or promotions. The impact of all modeled changes is provided in terms of headcount, salary cost and predicted effectiveness. Termination transactions are created once the model is approved.
You can also enter the position name against a vacancy and you can then use the position defaults (job, department, etc) for that vacancy.
