”Do” or ”does”?
Do and does are used when we want to ask yes/no questions.
We use do or does depending on the subject. Below are two sentences with two different subjects, she and you.
Does she like sport? Yes, she does.
Do you like sport? Yes, I do.

Positive form ”do/does”
The present of ”do” - when it happens right now:
I - do
you - do
he, she, it - does
we - do
you - do
they - do

Negative form of ”do/does”
The negative form of do is do not. In spoken English it is common to use the contracted form of do not which is don't.
I do not like sport.I don't like sport.
The negative form of does is does not. Also, in spoken English we usually use the contracted form of does not which is doesn't.
He does not like sport.He doesn't like sport.

Negative form ”don’t/doesn’t”
The present of ”don’t/doesn’t” - when it is not happening right now:
I - don’t (do not= don’t)
you - don’t
he, she, it - doesn’t (does not= doesn’t)
we - don’t
you - don’t
they - don’t

Past TenseDid is the past form of both do and does.

The negative form of did is did not or when speaking, didn't.

Past Tense of regular verbs
The past tense always ends with -ed:
play - played
She played football when she was young. (hon spelade fotboll när hon var ung)
walk - walked
They walked to the other side. (de gick till andra sidan)
help - helped
I helped the old man over the street. (jag hjälpte den gamle mannen över gatan)
call - called
We called his name. (vi ropade hans namn)

Past Tense of regular verbs- exceptions (undantag)
Regular verbs always ends with -ed in the Past tense
Some verbs only have -d added:
die - died
We were sad when the snake died. (vi var ledsna när ormen dog)
Some verbs change from -y to -ied
study - studied
He studied hard when he was at school. (han pluggade mycket när han var i skolan)
hurry - hurried
They hurried across the street. (de skyndade sig över gatan)

Past Tense of irregular verbs
see - saw (se - såg)
buy - bought (köpa - köpte)
She saw when they bought the table. (hon såg när de köpte bordet)
drink - drank (dricka - drack)
eat - ate (äta - åt)
They ate and drank. (de åt och drack)
tell - told (berätta - berättade)
feel - felt (känna - kände)
He told everybody how he felt. (han berättade för alla hur han kände sig)
