Low Costs, Great Value Paying for college is often a concern. The first step is to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To get a FAFSA application go to www.fafsa.gov online. Prospective students are encouraged to submit their FAFSA by January 1.

Live. Work. Study. Flex courses allow Lectures to be live streamed to students and are simultaneously recorded and posted to SUNY Canton OnLine, where students can access it at any time – or as many times – as they like. It allows online students the option of attending a class in person, while traditional on-campus or commuter students can decide whichever way they’d like to participate.

It’s Your Time SUNY Canton OnLine is one of the top distance learning programs in the SUNY system. We offer 22 programs and approximately 500 courses online annually.

More than 5,000 students, both on- and off-campus, took at least one online course last year. The College also offers accelerated online courses during its summer and winter sessions.

School of Science, Health, and Criminal Justice The College’s largest school offers numerous majors in the health, medical, criminal justice, and sports management professions. Nationally accredited programs present a strong academic foundation along with applied technical skills.

Canino School of Engineering Technology The School focuses on invention and innovation and offers research opportunities in applicable fields, like Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology.

School of Business and Liberal Arts The School offers degree programs, courses, and minors in business, management, human services and general studies. Our curriculum prepares students for rewarding careers in various industries.

Lifestyle Options Live with friends - Kennedy Hall is a beautiful and modern residence hall offering apartment-style living quarters with single rooms. The two- and four-bedroom suites are typically reserved for third- and fourth-year students.

Theme Housing: • The Pet Wing allows residents to bring small, caged pets

from home.

Residence Halls SUNY Canton has five residence halls overlooking the Grasse River. They are steps away from the College’s academic and student-centered buildings and a 10-minute walk to downtown Canton by crossing the College’s two footbridges.

• A Gamer Floor for students with a special interest in video, board and card games.

• Team Roo! is a specially designated area for students playing sports, intramurals, or who are athletically inclined.

Other Housing Options: • The Traditional Female Floor is reserved for women only. • The Honors Floor is designated for students interested in the

academic honors program and who excelled academically in high school.

• Non-Themed Housing are in co-ed wings and are suited best for students who are looking for a more traditional-style college living experience.

Each year, the Student Activities Involvement and Leadership office holds numerous events where students can cut loose and destress. Each year, the Carnival of Clubs showcases the college’s more than 50 student-run associations and organizations, which fit a wide-range of hobbies and interests. There are also a host of campus governance positions and leadership opportunities, both paid and unpaid. In Spring

Dining On Campus Chaney Dining Center has been completley renovated! It is conveniently located near the residence halls and serves great meals seven days a week. Meal plan options include 19, 14 or 10 weekly meals. Kennedy Hall residents also have the choice of purchasing a seven-meal weekly plan, and a five-meal weekly Commuter Plan is a convenient option for off-campus students.

No cash? No problem! A Roo Express Account and Campus Cash are included in most meal plans and can be used at any dining facility, as well as the Campus Store and Textbook Center. The Roo Express Account is also accepted by merchants in Canton and Potsdam.

Rendezvous, located in the heart of Miller Campus Center, features the Center Grill, Soup & Slices, and Market Fare. Roos Court in MacArthur Hall is a salad, soup and sandwich destination. Cyber Café in Southworth Library proudly serves StarbucksTM Coffee, paninis and late-night snacks. Nevaldine Hall’s Deb’s Corner is open for breakfast and lunch.

2019, the college brought rap artists Gunna and City Girls to perform for students.

Athletics and Fitness Great Facilities Student-athletes and students who want to stay fit are invited to use the College’s premiere Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center, nicknamed Roos House. The facility includes:

• An ice arena • A three-court field house • A state-of-the-art fitness center • A four-lane pool • Locker rooms for all sports and fitness enthusiasts The College has intramural programs, club teams and pick-up games in many sports such as flag football, basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, and many more.

Get in the Game Whether you want to compete at a high level, stay in shape, or just have fun, SUNY Canton has something for every incoming student.

SUNY Canton features 15 varsity teams and is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), as well as a member of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). The Kangaroos play teams from all over the Northeast.

The College has a dedicated coaching and athletic staff who are focused on their team’s academic and overall well-being as part of the SUNY Canton experience.

Game With Us! SUNY Canton is one of the very few colleges in New York with a varsity eSports program. Students can play competitively as a team in one of seven games, including League of Legends, and Overwatch. The college also recently opened a brand-new $500,000 eSports Arena, which features high-end Alienware computers, in addition to PlayStation Pro, and Xbox 1x consoles. Open tryouts are held each semester for both traditional and online students. 1616

V isit Us Come visit SUNY Canton virtually or in-person! For those that want to see the campus in person, you can schedule a private tour with our Admissions office. You can discuss your major and career options as well as college life. The Office of Admissions, located in French Hall, offers guided tours. Most future applicants add an interview with an admissions counselor and a meeting with a financial aid staff member.
