20 GeneralInstructions

20.1 The online application should besubmittedas early as possible. Pleasedonotwaitforthelastdate.

20.2 Themeritlistswillbedisplayedshowingthe percentage of the applicantsadmittedindifferentdisciplinesagainstdifferent categories on the notifieddateandtime.

20.3 All documents to be attached withthe Application Form (F-I) should beattestedbyaclass-Igazettedofficerofthegovernmentoraclass-AofficerofthisUniversityatthetimeofjoining.

20.4 Any information regarding admissionscanbeobtainedduringworkinghoursbycallingPhoneNo:(051)9047412.

20.5 MembersoftheAdmissionCommitteewill alsobe available for consultation,inperson,duringtheadmissionperiod.

21 EligibilityforAdmission

21.1 EligibilityRequirements

a.HSSCExaminationi. An applicant for admission to any of

bachelor’s degree course offered bytheUniversitymustfulfillthefollowingrequirements:

ii. He should have passed (or expect topass)uptothelatestannualexaminationwith at least 60% unadjusted marksin the examination based on whichhe seeks admission. However, for

admission in BS Computer Sciencethe candidate obtained (or expect toobtain)atleast50%unadjustedmarkswillalsobeeligible.MarksofNCCandHifz-e-Quran,whereapplicable,shallbeaddedonlyfordeterminationofmeritand not towards eligibility. Roundingoff percentage figure to make it 60%(or50%incaseofadmissioninCS)willnotbeconsideredtowardseligibility.

iii. He should be a resident of the areafromwhereheseeksadmission.

iv. Heshouldmeetstandardsofphysiqueandeyesight laiddowninthemedicalcertificate.

v. Heshouldhaveappeared intheEntryTestfortherespectivesessionarrangedby theUET Lahorewith the followingcombinations: (English, Mathematics/Biology, Physics, Chemistry/ComputerScience/Statistics.)

b. EquivalentExamination Theuniversityrecognizesthefollowing

examinations as equivalent to theIntermediate (Pre-Eng.) Examinationwith Chemistry, Mathematics andPhysics of the Pakistan Boards ofIntermediateandSecondaryEducation:

i. Intermediate (Pre-Eng.) Examinationof the Board of Intermediate andSecondaryEducation,AzadKashmir.

ii. FSc.(Pre-medical)withMathematicsasanadditionalsubject.

iii. *Cambridge Overseas Higher SchoolCertificate of Education (AdvancedLevel) with Mathematics, Physics &Chemistry.

iv. *BritishGeneralCertificateofEducation(Advanced Level) with Mathematics,Physics,andChemistry.

v. *American High School GraduateDiploma(HSGDiploma).

21.3 Provisions about admission on thebasisofaBScDegree

Giventhequalificationsandrestrictionsstated below, a person is eligible foradmission to the bachelor’s degreecourses at the University based on adegreeofBachelorofScience.i. For admission to the BSc courses

in any engineering discipline, anapplicant must have passed theBSc Examination with Physics andMathematics.

ii. A person possessing a BSc degreeisNOTeligibleforadmissiontoanybachelor’s degree course at theuniversityunlesshehasalsopassedFSc.Pre-EngineeringExamination.

iii. Tobeeligibleforadmissiononthebasis of BSc degree the candidatemust have obtained at least 60%marksbothinFScandBSc.

21.4 Gender Both male and female persons are

eligible to apply for seats shown inthe Seats Allocation Chart in section22. The general pronoun “he” and itsderivativesimplyeitherofthesex.

23.1 CategoryA(PunjabProvince) The applicant should be a resident of

23.2 CategoryB(SindhProvince) The applicant should be a resident of

the Sindh province. Applications forcivil engineering are to be submittedto the Registrar of the MehranUET, Jamshoro. For electrical andmechanical engineering apply to theRegistrar of N.E.D. UET, Karachi. ThelastdateforreceiptofnominationsatUETTaxila(irrespectiveofthemodeofcommunicationorthedateofpostage)is 7 days before date of closing ofadmission.Un-filledseats(ifany)willbecancelledaftertheprescribeddateforreceipt of nominations. Nominationsandallocationofdisciplinesaremadeby the Department of Education,GovernmentofSindh,Karachi.

23.3 CategoryC(BaluchistanProvince)The applicant should be a resident of the

Baluchistan province. Applicationsare to be submitted to the Secretary,DepartmentofEducation,Governmentof Baluchistan, Quetta. Nominationsandallocationofdisciplinesaremadeby this Department. The last datefor receipt of nominations at UETTaxila (irrespective of the mode ofcommunicationorthedateofpostage)is 7 days before date of closing ofadmission.Unfilledseats(ifany)willbecancelledaftertheprescribeddateforreceiptofnominations.

23.4 Category D (Khyber PakhtunkhwaProvince)

The applicant should be a resident ofthe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.Applications are to be submitted toRegistrar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa UET,Peshawar.Nominations andallocationof disciplines are made by theDepartmentofEducation,GovernmentofKhyberPakhtunkhwa,Peshawar.ThelastdateforreceiptofnominationsatUETTaxila(irrespectiveofthemodeofcommunicationorthedateofpostage)is 7 days before date of closing ofadmission.Unfilledseats(ifany)willbecancelledaftertheprescribeddateforreceiptofnominations.

23.5 Category E (AK including KEL Area&GilgitBaltistan)

TheapplicantfortheAzadKashmirandKelAreaseatsshouldbeanationalofAzad Kashmir, and the applicant forthe Gilgit Baltistan seat should be aresident of these areas. For the seatsreservedforAzadKashmirandKelArea,applicationsaretobesubmittedtotheSecretary Education, Azad Jammu &Kashmir,GovernmentofMuzaffarabad.

For the seats reserved for the GilgitBaltistan applications are to besubmittedtotheDirectorofEducation,Gilgit Baltistan. Nominations andallocation of disciplines are made bythe Nomination Board for the AzadKashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. The lastdateforreceiptofnominationsatUETTaxila (irrespective of the mode ofcommunicationorthedateofpostage)is 7 days before date of closing ofadmission.Unfilledseats(ifany)willbe

In Computer Science one third of seats of every category are reserved for candidates of HSSC with Pre-Medical combination and remaining seats of every category are reserved for other HSSC combinations. 23.7 CategoryG(DisablePersons) The applicant should be a resident of

PunjabProvince.TheapplicantswillhavetofurnishacertificatefromConcernedSocial Welfare, Women Developmentand Bait ul Maal (Provincial Councilfor the Rehabilitation of DisabledPersons), Government of Punjab orFederalGovernment.Verificationofhisdisabilityinviewofprovidedcertificateinrelationtoengineeringeducationwillbe doneby the ChiefMedicalOfficer,UET,Taxila.TheselectionsaremadebytheUniversityaccordingtomerit.Theblind,deafanddumbpersonsarenoteligibletoapplyinthiscategory.

23.8 CategoryH(ForeignNationals) TheapplicantsfromcategoryH1toH5

are required to get their applicationssponsored by their government, andsent in triplicate to the Ministry ofFinance,Revenue,Economic,Statisticsand Privatization (Economic AffairsDivision), Government of Pakistan,Islamabad, through the Pakistan’srepresentative accredited to theircountry. The applications shouldbe accompanied by the followingdocuments:

i. Educational Certificates (attestedphotocopies) and details ofsyllabiandcoursesofstudyof theexaminations passed with English

translationiftheseareinadifferentlanguage.

ii. Domicile/NationalityCertificateiii. Passportiv. CharacterCertificatev. Health/FitnessCertificatevi. Information regarding the class

anddisciplineinwhichadmissionisrequired. Nominations/Allocationof disciplines is made by theMinistry of Finance (EconomicAffairs Division) Islamabad. Theprescribed application forms maybeobtainedfromtheministry.

The applicants of category H6 andH7 are required to submit theirapplications through HEC Islamabad,Pakistan.

23.9 CategoryI(DiplomaHolders) This category has been abolished

in compliance with Lahore CourtjudgementsonwritpetitionsNo.1286of 2016andNo. 57079of 2019.Nowthese candidates can apply on openmeritonallcategorieswheretheyfall.The applicant should be a residentof the Punjab province and shouldhave passed the relevant diplomaexamination from the Punjab Boardof Technical Education, Lahore. Thelist relevant diplomas are given insection 22.1. Selection and allotmentof disciplines are made according tomerit.

23.10 Category J (ChildrenofArmedForcesPersonnel)

ApplicationsaretobesubmittedtotheHeadquarters of the Army, Air Force,or the Navy (depending upon theservicetowhichtheparentbelongs)inaccordancewiththeprocedurenotifiedby them. Diploma holders are noteligible to apply in this category. ThelastdateforreceiptofnominationsatUETTaxila(irrespectiveofthemodeofcommunicationorthedateofpostage)is 7 days before date of closing ofadmission.Unfilledseats(ifany)willbecancelledaftertheprescribeddateforreceipt of nominations. 23.11 CategoryK(FATA) The applicant should be a resident

of the Federally Administered TribalAreas (FATA). The applications are tobe submitted to the Home and TAsDepartment, Government of KhyberPakhtunkhwa, Peshawar. Nominationsand allocation of disciplines are alsomade by this department. The lastdateforreceiptofnominationsatUETTaxila (irrespective of the mode ofcommunicationorthedateofpostage)is 7 days before date of closing ofadmission.Unfilledseats(ifany)willbecancelledaftertheprescribeddateforreceiptofnominations.

23.12 CategoryL(BackwardAreasofPunjab) The backward areas of Punjab

include districts of Attock, Bhakkar,Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Chakwal,D.G. Khan, Jhang, Jhelum, Layyah,Mianwali, Muzaffargarh, Rahim YarKhan and Rajanpur. The applicantshould be a resident of any of thesedistricts.Theselectionandallocationofdisciplinesaremadeby theuniversityaccordingtomerit.

23.13 Category M (Children of UniversityEmployees)

Real children of those universityemployees who have completed fiveyearsofservicebeingphysicallypresentare eligible to apply as per followingdetails.

i. The first 7 seats are allocated tothe wards of employees who wereappointed before 1993 (the inceptionofUET Taxila) for the programs beingofferedatthattime.Iftheseseatsarenotfilledduetounavailabilityofwardsof such employees, the seats shall beopen for admission of the wards ofemployeeswhowere appointed afterthe establishment of the university intheyear1993.

ii. The remaining seats of this categoryshallbeopenforalltheemployeesofUETTaxila.

iii. Theapplicantsmustfurnishwiththeirapplications a certificate from theRegistraroftheUniversityonFormF-IX(availableinRegistrar’soffice).

Theselectionismadebytheuniversityaccordingtomerit.

Note: 1. The children of those university

employeesarenoteligibletoapplyunderthiscategorywhohavebeendismissed/terminated/removedfromtheuniversityonanygroundexcept medical grounds or haveleft the university other than theretirement.

3. Candidates once admitted inprevious sessions under thiscategory in the university or in itsaffiliated institutes will only beconsideredincurrentsessionaftertheexhaustionoffreshcandidates,subject to theavailabilityof seats.Admission will be granted onthe merit position of candidateswithouttakingcareof1993bar.

23.14 Category N (Children of GraduateEngineers)

The applicant should be a resident ofthe Punjab province. The selectionandallocationofdisciplinesaremadeby the university according to merit.Applicants should furnish with theirapplications attested photocopiesof their parent’s Bachelors’ Degreein Engineering and renewed PECRegistration card. Other qualificationssuchasAMIE(Pak)arenotrecognizedforinclusioninthiscategory.

23.15 Category O (Children of UniversityAlumni)

The applicant should be a ward ofuniversityalumni.Theapplicantshouldfurnishwithhisapplicationanattestedphotocopy of the Degree/ProvisionalCertificateofhisparentasanevidenceof the fact that he (the parent) isa graduate of this University or itsparent institution, that is, the formerUniversity College of EngineeringTaxila. The selection and allocation of

23.16 Category Q1 (Tribal Areas of D.G.Khan)

The applicant should be a residentof the Tribal Areas of D.G. Khan.The selection and allocation ofdisciplinesaremadebytheUniversityaccording to merit. Applicant mustfurnishacertificatefromtheDistrictCoordination Officer of DG Khanverifying thathe is a residentof theTribalAreasofD.G.KhanDistrictandhis domicile should also depict thesame.

23.17 Category Q2 (Tribal Areas ofRajanpur)

The applicant should be a residentof the Tribal Areas of Rajanpur.The selection and allocation ofdisciplinesaremadebytheUniversityaccording to merit. Applicant mustfurnishacertificatefromtheDistrictCoordination Officer of Rajanpurverifying thathe is a residentof theTribalAreasof RajanpurDistrict andhis domicile should also depict thesame.

23.18 CategoryT(TehsilTaxila) The applicant should be a resident

of Tehsil Taxila. The selection andallocationofdisciplinesaremadebytheuniversityaccordingtomerit.

23.19 Category X (Children of OverseasPakistanis,PartialSubsidized)

Applicant should be a ward ofoverseas Pakistani. Selection andallocationofdisciplinesaremadebythe University according to merit.The fee is partial subsidized for thiscategory.Theapplicantisrequiredtosubmitalongwithhisapplication:

i. A certificate on Form F-VIII (can bedownloaded from the universitywebsite) regarding his parent’semployment in a foreign countryissued by the Pakistani Embassy inthatcountry.

ii. A photocopy of his parent’s validresidentvisaforthatcountryattested

bythePakistaniEmbassy.Notes:

1. Only real children of overseasPakistanis are eligible to apply.However, in case of an orphan,he may apply on his guardian’sdocuments. Guardian can bereal brother, real paternal ormaternal uncle. In this casefollowing additional documentsarerequired:

(i)Father’sdeathcertificateissuedbyNADRA(ii)Proofofrelationshipwith the guardian in the formof CNIC of all family membersand NADRA Family RegistrationCertificate (FRC) highlighting theTreestructureoftheapplicant(iii)Copy of Nikahnama in case theguardianisthematernaluncleoftheapplicant.

2. Scanned / photocopied / Faxeddocumentswill not be accepted.OnlyoriginalattestedcopiesfromtheconcernedPakistaniembassywillbeaccepted.

3. Theresidencepermit/visamustbevalidatleastuptilltheclosingdateofsubmissionofapplications.

23.20 CategoryS(PartialSubsidized) The applicant should be a Pakistan

National. However, candidatesfrom Punjab province will be givenpreference over other provinces.Selectionandallocationofdisciplinesaremadeaccordingtomerit.Thefeeispartialsubsidizedforthiscategory.

24 DeterminationofMerit

24.1 ExaminationsConsideredforMerit For admission to all the bachelor’s

degreecoursesanddeterminationofmeritthefollowingexaminationsareconsidered:

i. Higher Secondary School CertificateExamination (HSSC) Pre-Eng. orequivalent.

ii. BachelorofScience(BSc)orBASc.

24.2 WeightedPercentage The comparative merit of applicants

willbedeterminedbasedonweightedpercentage marks obtained by thecandidatesintheseexaminations.

A) For Applicants with HSSC (Pre-engineering) as the HighestQualification:

i) EntryTest: 30%ii) Matric: 20%iii) 1stYearofHSSC(Pre-Eng.): 50%B) ForApplicantswithBScORBAScasthe

HighestQualificationi) EntryTest: 30%ii) Matric: 20%iii) HSSCorequivalent: 20%iv) BScorequivalent: 30%C) For Applicants Having Diploma of

Associate Engineer as the HighestQualification:

i) EntryTest: 30%ii) Matric: 20%iii) Sumof1st&2ndYearMarks:50%D) Incaseofforeignqualifications(A-Level

etc.):i) EntryTest: 30%ii) Marks in 11th Class (“O” level or

equivalent): 70%Notes:1. In case the candidate has already

completed his/her intermediate orequivalent qualification, their Part-Iresultwouldbeusedincomputationofaggregate.

2. In case of foreign qualification, lettergrade will be converted to marks byIBCCformula.

3. SinceadmissionwillbeofferedbeforethedeclarationofresultofHSSCpart-II,thefollowingconditionswillalsoapply.

a. Admission of candidates, who areunable to earn 60%or above in theirHSSC and equivalent qualification orDAE,will be cancelled and their dueswill be reimbursed in fullwithoutanydeduction.

b. Admission of A-level candidates whoareunabletoscoreat least“C”gradein Physics, Mathematics/Biology and

Chemistry/CS will be cancelled andtheir dues will be reimbursed in fullwithoutanydeduction.

In determining the merit of anapplicanthavingFSc(Pre-medical)withMathematicsasanadditional subject,the marks obtained in the subject ofBiologyarereplacedbythoseobtainedinMathematics.

24.4 CreditforNCC Twentymarksareaddedtothemarks

obtained in the highest examinationof an applicant who has successfullycompleted the NCC training. Anapplicant gets the benefit only if hesubmitswithhisapplicationanattestedphotocopy of the original certificateissuedbytheDirectorGeneralNationalCadet Corps & Women Guard. Nosubstitutefortheoriginalcertificateisrecognized.

24.5 CreditforHifz-e-Quran Twentymarksareaddedtothemarks

obtainedinthehighestexaminationofanapplicantwho isHafiz-e-Quran.Hegetsthebenefitonlyifhe:

A) fills in thenecessarycolumnprovidedintheonlineapplicationForm(F-I)

B) appears before the “VerificationCommittee” appointed by the Vice-ChancellorandtheCommitteeacceptshisclaimofbeingaHafiz-e-Quran.

The Verification Committee will meetfor thispurpose in the JamiaMosqueBilal UET, Taxila on the notified dateandtime.No separate call letterswillbeissuedinthisconnection.

24.6 Determination of Merit in case ofEqualPercentageofAdmissionMarks

If two ormore applicants have equalpercentage of admission marks (upto three decimal places), they shallbe treated at par for the purpose ofadmission.

24.7 MeritDeterminedCategoryWise The seats for admission to the

bachelor’s degree courses at theuniversityaredistributedovervariouscategories. These categories arediscussedinSection23.ThedetailsofthedistributionofseatsareavailableintheSeatsAllocationChartinSection22.

The eligible applicants for eachcategory are grouped separately.Then based on the weightedpercentageofmarksobtained intherelevant examinations, comparativemerit of the applicants comprisingthegroupisprepared.Theapplicantsbelongingtoacategorythuscompetefor admission amongst themselvesfortheseatsallocatedtoit.

24.8 TransferbasedongivenPreferencesandMerit

a. In case a seat in any Discipline/Category of higher preference givenbyacandidate fallsvacantandhe iseligiblefortransfertothatDiscipline/Category on the basis of his merit,heshallbeautomaticallytransferredto that Discipline/Category. He willhavenorighttoretainhisadmissionin the Previous Discipline/Categorybecausetheseatvacatedbyhimshallbesimultaneouslyallottedtothenexteligiblecandidateonmerit.

b. Downgrading based on PreferencesandMerit

Ifanapplicantrequestsinwritingontheprescribedformtodowngradehisadmission to the lower preference,hewillbeallowedtoavailthisfacilityonly once depending on themeritand availability of seats in thatdepartmentattheendofthecurrent

merit list. Further his admissionwill be frozen simultaneously to thedowngradeddiscipline/category.

24.9 Freezing inanygivenDisciplineandCategory

If an applicant requests in writingto retain thediscipline and categoryin which he hasbeenselected foradmissiononmerit,thenhewillnothaveanyrighttoclaimhisadmissionin any other discipline and categoryofhigherorlowermeritevenifaseatfallsvacantinanydiscipline.Applicantdesiringtofreezecategory/disciplinemusthavetoapply inpersonontheprescribed form for this purposebeforethenextmeritlistisdisplayed.

24.10 VariationinSeatsa. The university authorities may

exercisetheirrightbeforetheclosingof admission cycle to increaseor decrease the number of seatsallocated to any category and thereshall be no appeal against such adecision.

government servant who belongsto Punjab but is serving in any otherprovince of Pakistan, then the parentshould produce a certificate onForm F-II (can be downloaded fromadmissions.uettaxila.edu. pk) fromthe head of his department affirmingthatheisapermanentresidentofthePunjab. It shall be necessary in suchcasesthattheperiodoftheapplicant’sstudy corresponds with the periodof the posting of the parent in thatprovince.

26.4 DomicileRequirementsforChildrenoftheArmedForcesPersonnel

In addition to the seats reserved forthe category ‘J’, the children of theArmedForcespersonnelcanapply foradmission on basis of merit againstseats reserved for their province ofdomicile or the seats reserved forthe province in which their parent(themember of the Armed Forces) isposted.

Thus, an applicant who is domiciledin Sindh, but his parent is posted inPunjabcanapplyagainstseatsreservedforSindhoragainstseatsreservedforPunjab. However, if he applies undercategory‘A’,hewillhavetosubmitwithhis application a certificate from theGOCofthearearegardingtheplaceofhisparent’sposting.

27 Documents to be AttachedwithForm(F-I)

An applicant must exercise great care inensuring that his application form (F-I) iscomplete and submitted online on or beforethe closing date. 29.2 DepositingofDuesandDocuments• Ifthenameofapplicantappearsinthe

merit list, he will report to AdmissionOfficewithin the prescribed time limitfortheparticularmeritlist.

• Hewillsubmittheprintoutofapplicationform F-I along with documentsmentioned in section 26 and 27 ofthe prospectus. His eligibility will bedetermined according to the eligibilitycriteria for a discipline/ category laiddownintheprospectus.

• The admission offers to “Not Eligible”candidates will be cancelled whereasthe“Eligible”candidateswillbeissuedcalllettersandbankchallan.

• Afterdepositing fee inHBL,UET,Taxilabranch the candidate will submit thefollowing documents in the AdmissionOffice within the time period of aparticularmeritlist:

lists: Admissions are granted on meritand according to preferences givenby the applicants. An applicant whosecuresadmission inadisciplineofhislower preference and he desires to beconsidered in next merit lists, MUSTsubmit all the UNIVERSITY dues andORIGINAL documents. If he fails to doso, his name would be excluded fromanyfuturemeritlistsandhisadmissionwouldbecancelled.

29.3 RelaxationinTimeLimit Ifaselecteeispreventedbyunavoidable

circumstancesfromtimelyfulfillmentoftherequirementslaiddownin29.1and29.2, he should intimate the ConvenerAdmission Committee about it withinthe prescribed time limit along withrelevant documentary proof. TheConvener Admission Committee may,athisdiscretion,grantrelaxationinthetimelimit,whichshallnotexceedTHREEdays.

29.4 ForfeitureofRightforAdmission A selectee who fails to fulfill the

requirementslaiddownin29.1and29.2within the prescribed time limit shallforfeithisrightofadmissionandwillnotbeconsideredinsubsequentmeritlists.

However, such candidates may beconsideredasperfollowing:

Initiallytheywillbeofferedadmissionsin thedisciplines inwhich their namesappeared 1st time in merit list at theendof thecurrentmerit list,basedonmerit and subject to the availability ofseat.Moreover, theywill beeligible tobetransferredinthedisciplinesoftheirhigherpreferences,iffurthermeritlistsaredisplayed.

29.5 ProvisionalAdmission On fulfillment of the obligations

mentioned in29.1 and29.2 a selecteewill be admitted to the university.This admission shall however, be‘provisional’untilalltheoriginaldegreesor certificates, submitted by him, havebeenverified for their veracity. In case

anydocumentprovestobefalse,fake,fabricated or do not comply towardseligibilitycriteriamentionedinsection21foundatalaterstage,aprovisionallyadmitted student shall be liable toexpulsion from the university and toany other disciplinary or legal actiontheuniversitymaydeemfit.Moreover,all the fees and charges deposited byhimshallstandforfeitedinfavoroftheuniversity.

29.6 DeadlinesforAdmission Admission shall be closed from date

asgiveninadmissionschedule(clause34).

29.7 NotificationofSelectionofCategoriesB,C,D,E,F,H,J,andK

The applicants for the seats reservedfor these categories will be informedabout selections by the authorityresponsible for their selection. Afterthat theuniversitywill issue themcallletterswith a target date to report inthe Admission Office to complete theremainingadmissionformalities.

30 FeesandOtherCharges

30.1 Thefeesandchargestobepaidbythestudents admitted to the bachelor’sdegree courses are mentioned inTable 30.1. The same are subject torevision/modificationbytheUniversityauthorities at any time without anypriornotification.

30.2 ForExaminationFees,seetherelevantsection.

30.3 i. The University also grants feeconcession on merit as well as needbasis.

ii. Students should maintain their ownpersonal record of original receipts ofduestillclearancetoavoidproblemsinfuture.Nonproductionoforiginalduesreceiptsondemandcanbeconsideredasnon-depositoffee.

30.5 University dues received in favor ofstudentsunderloanschemeofNationalBank of Pakistan will be adjustedagainst his/her outstanding dues. Incase, the university has extended feeconcessiontoastudent,thesamewillnot bewithdrawn. The amount equalto fee concession will be paid to theconcerned student to enable them toreturntheamounttoNBPthemselvestoreducetheirloanliability.

30.6 Financial assistance / ScholarshipreceivedfromUEToranyotheragency/organization,thefeewillbeadjustedforhis/heroutstandingdues.Theamountwill not be refunded to the student.In case he/she has already beengranted Half/ Full fee concession forthesaidperiod, itwillstandcancelledautomaticallyandhe/shewilldepositthefeeconcessionamount infavorofthe university or financial assistancewill be adjusted against outstandingdues. Student can avail one financialassistance/scholarshipfromanyagencyatatime.

30.7 PeriodsofFeesandOtherCharges The Non-Recurring fee are charged

at the time of admission while therecurringfeearechargedpersemester.Thehostelchargesarepayableforthewholesemester.Electricitychargesforfans are payable for summer sessionandwillbechargedwiththefeeduringspring semester. While the electricitycharges for roomheaters are payableforwintersessionandwillbechargedwiththefeeduringfallsemester.Withthe prior permission of the SeniorWarden,theresidentstudentscanuseaircoolersduringsummersession.Theywill be charged an additional amountofRs.1200/-perroompersession.Thecharges for roomheaters are payableforwintersessionandwillbechargedwiththefeeduringfallsemester.

30.8 Securities Allkindofsecuritiesmentionedabove

remaining unclaimed for two yearsfrom the date of becoming due forrefundshall lapsetotheuniversityfortransfertotheEndowmentFund.

30.9 RefundofSecuritiesi. The mess security will be refunded

when a student leaves the universityor the hostel, after deduction ofoutstanding dues of the university,subjecttothesubmissionofclearance,completedinallrespects.

ii. The refundable university security,library security and hostel security,however, shall stand forfeited if astudentwithdraws fromor leaves theuniversity before completing the firstyear.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE


30.10 Non-paymentofFeeandCharges AfineofRs.10/-perdaywillbecharged

for a period of 10 days after the lastdate fixed for payment of fees andcharges. After that, the name of thedefaulter will be struck off the rollsof theuniversityandhe/shewillhaveto pay the re-admission fee alongwiththefeesandfinebeforeheisre-admitted. Application to this effectshall be submitted to the concernedDean of Faculty. However, a studentwho receives scholarship through theuniversity Treasurer may pay his/herfee and chargeswithoutfinewithin aweekof receiptof the scholarship forthecorrespondingperiod.

31 UniversityDressCode

The students shall wear dress thatensuresmodesty,sobriety,anddignity.Thedressmustneitherbeoffensivetosocialnormsandethicalvaluesof thesocietynorinjurioustofemininegrace

andgentleness.Femalestudentsshall,preferably,wearascarfandanoverallsufficienttoconcealtheirposture.

32 Miscellaneous

32.1 LiabilityforInjuryDamageandLoss: The University teaching programs

include training in its workshops andlaboratories, places of engineeringinterest, industrial concern, andconstruction jobs. The University orotherconcernsshallnotberesponsibleintheeventofaninjury,damageorlossto a student resulting fromany causewhatsoeverduringsuchtraining.

32.2 ModificationofRulesandRegulations: The rules and regulations governing

various aspects of students’ life atthe University (such as discipline,admissions, examination, migrations,fees, and charges etc.) are given inthis prospectus or elsewhere as theystood at the time of its publication.Thereisnoguaranteethattheserulesandregulationswillremainunchangedthroughout a student’s stay at theUniversity; nor does it, in any wayrestrictor curtail the inherentpowersfortheUniversityauthoritiestomodifythemwhenever intheir judgmentanymodifications are called for, and toimplement the modified rules andregulations from a date which theydeemappropriate.
