To be considered for need-based financial aid, you are required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may file anytime after October 1 of your senior year. The FAFSA is available online at fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA code for UMD is 002388.

APPLYThe housing application is available on the Housing & Residence Life website starting February 1. Students must submit a $200 installment payment with their housing application. The priority deadline to submit your housing application and roommate requests is May 1.

VIEWUMD offers both traditional residence halls and apartment style on-campus living options. Visit the Housing & Residence Life website and click on your desired residence hall or apartment to take a 360° virtual tour of accommodations.

ROOMMATES AND ASSIGNMENTSWhen you complete your housing application, you will be able to request a roommate, or one will be assigned to you based on a questionnaire. You will be notified of your official housing assignment no later than the July prior to your first fall semester. Housing and roommate priority is based on the date of your application for admission.
