An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative individual to work as a Clinical Nurse Educator within the Critical Care Unit. Our Critical Care Unit consists of a 10 bedded Intensive Care Unit, and two High Dependency Units, Medical and Surgical, each with their own dedicated Senior Charge Nurses and nursing teams.

We are seeking a passionate Clinical Nurse Educator who can make a meaningful contribution to supporting excellence in clinical nursing practice. The Clinical Nurse Educator will play an integral role in the management and delivery of education and staff development across our intensive care and high dependency units. We are looking for an experienced, person centred, professional critical care nurse with a passion for teaching and who has extensive critical care experience. You will promote excellence in nursing as a resource and a role model and will act as an expert, giving clinical counsel to staff; leading efforts related to implementation, evaluation and identification of evidence based practice, staff specific education, and patient education.

This post is full time, 37.5 hours per week, predominantly worked over a five day week, Monday to Friday. There is also a requirement to for the occasional weekend day working to cover the duty charge nurse shift for the directorate.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced critical care nurses who already possess postgraduate qualifications in teaching, critical care nursing or significant equivalent experience. Ideally you should be educated to masters degree level or have the ability to demonstrate working at masters degree level appropriate to this clinical area. You should have evidence of significant post registration professional practice experience in critical care with a minimum of five years intensive care nursing experience to undertake and fulfil the key areas for required for this post.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced nurse to join our team as the Gender Based Violence co-coordinator for Fife. Based with the Health and Social Care Partnership this post spans many boundaries across acute and community settings and into multi-agency settings, working closely with the Fife Violence Against Women Partnership (FVAWP) and Women’s Aid amongst others.

You will head a small team and be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of Gender Based Violence are recognised and addressed. This will be done through education and training and working closely with our partner agencies. You will be actively involved in developing and delivering both NHS and multi-agency training.

You will attend MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference) on a regular basis as one of the representatives for health in Fife. Through this you will endeavor to maintain the safety of those most at risk in our communities. You will work closely with others to provide clinical supervision where required.

You will be an experienced nurse with a proven track record in education and training. Experience of working in the field of Gender Based Violence is preferable, experience working with at risk and vulnerable individuals and knowledge of child and adult protection is essential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Care Nurse within Fife Health and Social Care West Division who has specialist knowledge in Asthma and COPD management for both adult and paediatric patients. The post provides a respiratory service to patients registered with 6 GP Practices in the Lochgelly, Benarty and Cardenden locality.

You will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of evidence based care to this patient group, in partnership with the GP Practices. Care will be offered in both clinic and home settings within this area of Fife.

It would be expected that you will have relevant experience in this specialty and enhanced qualifications to support their application. In addition you shall have excellent communication skills as well as excellent time management skills. Further to this it is a requirement that you must have a valid NMC registration.

Community experience is not essential as an induction to the area will be given. Non-medical prescribing is desirable but not essential to the post.

Travel within the area is essential.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to take on the role of Primary Mental Health Worker within Fife Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.

The introduction of CAMHS Primary Mental Health Workers (PMHW) is a new initiative within Fife CAMHS which seeks to expand the current provision for children and young people with mental health difficulties. You will join a team which provides early-stage mental health interventions through liaison, consultation, supervision and training to primary care professionals. PMHW’s also provide direct and collaborative clinical interventions with children and young people whilst seeking to enable community and primary care-based professionals to effectively recognise children and young people's strengths and difficulties and the impact on mental wellbeing.

The Primary Mental Health Worker is responsible for delivering these key functions whilst assisting the team leader in developing this service in collaboration with the existing CAMHS teams and primary care partners.

In order to fulfil this role you will be confident in providing consultation, supervision and training to primary care professionals and other agencies who are engaged with children and young people in Fife. You will have skills in delivering effective training packages and will be able to provide direct input to children and families through group interventions or individual assessment and treatment to those who present with mild to moderate mental health difficulties across Fife. An essential component of this role will be the ability to develop effective relationships across agencies to ensure a partnership approach to care.

Applications are invited from staff qualified as Registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology (CAAP) with evidence of continuous professional development and who can demonstrate skills and competencies normally associated with significant experience in a Child & Adolescent Mental Health setting. We are looking to recruit a charge nurse with experience and talent in haematology and oncology to join our skilled team of patient focused nurses.

The role will combine supporting the senior charge nurse in the management of the ward and also the delivery of high quality care to our patients. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate that they have the ability to be an excellent example to their colleagues in the delivery of holistic patient care and be able to pass that ability on. They will also need to demonstrate that they have enough understanding of the key issues in ward management to be able to step up to this challenging position.

If not having a degree already they should be working to or committed to attaining one.

Ward 34 is the regional in patient facility for haematology care and is a very busy and challenging place to work. We care for patients with acute and chronic haematology conditions including those receiving intensive chemotherapy. Other patients in our care have conditions such as breast and lung cancer.

There will be assistance available to the post holder as well as an assessment of their learning needs and corresponding support/education put in place.

You will be expected to undergo training in aspects of haem/oncology nursing that they require and to show a commitment to further study.

The post is 37.5 hours and can either be 11.5 hours or core shifts as suits the successful candidate and ward needs.

The Victoria Maternity is a new purpose built unit, with approximately 3500 births per year.We are in a position to offer permanent contracts of varying hours for nursing auxiliaries to work within the maternity care settings. These care settings include maternity delivery suites, community midwifery and antenatal clinics. You will work very closely with pregnant and postnatal women, their babies and families, with midwifery and medical staff and must, therefore, have excellent communication and organisational skills. IT skills are also preferred. Extended skills such as measuring observations and taking blood would be an advantage, but training can be provided. There is an established endovascular aneurysm service deploying both fenestrated and conventional stent grafts jointly with radiology. Renal access surgery, surveillance and maintenance are well developed. Amputation rehabilitation and limb fitting are supported by a dedicated physiotherapy team. The Network has a strong commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate training.

PRACTICE MANAGER VACANCY

Anstruther Medical Practice, situated in the East Neuk of Fife, is seeking a motivated and pro-active practice manager to join our busy general practice team – our current manager is retiring after 12 years in post. We have a full complement of 6 partners and a full team of nursing and administrative staff. While the ideal candidate would have experience of management within the NHS, preferably in primary care, this is not essential. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, quick to learn and forward thinking, who has confidence and ability in managing staff, preferably with HR experience. This is a full time role with salary to be negotiated based on previous salary and experience, and working hours can be negotiated also.
