BELLEVUE, Wash. and ECULLY, France, Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Adeneo

Embedded, a platinum member of the Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) Design Network,

and a Microsoft Windows Embedded Gold Partner and recipient of a "Windows Embedded

Excellence Award" from 2007 through 2012, today announced support for Windows

Embedded Handheld 6.5 technology on TI's OMAP 4 platform.

This milestone builds on previous collaborations on Windows Embedded Compact 7 to

enable a full suite of support servicesincluding customized support, training and

development servicetailored to assist original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) seeking to

develop Windows Embedded Handheld-based devices on TI's OMAP4 platform. This creates

new opportunities to develop innovative handheld devices for enterprise and industrial

    applications.

As a platinum member of TI's Design Network, Adeneo Embedded marries its deep

knowledge of the OMAPprocessor family with Windows Embedded experience to create a

breadth of expertise invaluable to OEMs seeking to differentiate designs.

Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 powers enterprise handheld devices that run line-of-

business (LOB) applications to help enable efficient data input, and highly secure

connections to existing enterprise infrastructure with proven reliability, enterprise-level

support, and a consistent platform experience.

With a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 foundation, TI's OMAP platform includes an IVA 3

multimedia accelerator, a POWERVR SGX540 graphics core from Imagination

Technologies, an integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP), two ARM Cortex-M3 cores, andother unique architectural benefits. Together, these OMAP 4 platform components provide

the optimal balance of high performance at low power, thanks to symmetric multiprocessing

(SMP) that helps balance tasks and choose the "right core for the chore."

"Our work with TI on the OMAP 4 platform started in 2011 with the support of Windows

Embedded Compact 7," said Yannick Chammings, chief executive officer, Adeneo

Embedded. "By extending today the scope of collaboration to Windows Embedded Handheld

6.5, we further reinforce our support to OEMs developing differentiated, game-changing

devices for the handheld, industrial and enterprise markets.""As a Platinum Member of TI's Design Network, Adeneo Embedded has proven expertise in

key vertical applications, including those that leverage the full benefits of TI's OMAP platform

on Windows Embedded Compact and Handheld-based devices," said George Martin, partner

    successes in this promising market."

"Adeneo Embedded's extensive support services for Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 on

the OMAP 4 platform give OEMs powerful performance options for creating industry

handheld devices," said D'Arcy Salzmann, product manager for Windows Embedded atMicrosoft. "Enterprises deploying industry handhelds to gain the benefits of intelligent

systems look to Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 devices for the performance, utility and

flexibility they need. With Adeneo Embedded's support for the OMAP 4 platform now

available, OEMs can now offer enterprises additional performance options for the devices

used to deliver critical line-of-business application flexibility."

Support services are available from Adeneo Embedded for developers leveraging Windows

Embedded Compact and Windows Embedded Handheld technologies on the OMAP4

platform. OEMs interested in using these technologies can contact Adeneo Embedded'ssales team at [email protected] discuss further support options.
