be preventable in the U.S.
A Roadmap to 1,000 lives per day
Improved screening and treatment can save a number of lives over the next
decade
Improved Screening & Treatment
Cervical- 50,000 lives
Breast - 64,000 lives through high quality mammography and even more due to breast awareness
Colorectal screening (all modalities) >400,000 lives
Lung Cancer (with CT screening), over 150,000 lives?
Cancer Disparities Reduction Collaborative
A dual-division partnership focused on creating a common approach to reduce disparities in cancer mortality within targeted populations.
Three-year pilot using an evidence-based intervention of Community Health Advisors (CHAs) to deliver prevention & early detection messages and navigate women to breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings.
Intervention targeted to specific populations and communities of greatest need based on a composite of health status indicators.
