To All Bidders of RFQ06.2020: Please note: the following addendum applies to RFQ06.2020 and shall be taken into consideration when preparing bid documents.

Question 1: Could you clarify what information are you looking for under “Claims” on Section 1? Answer 1: For Claims, we expect Respondents will provide summary details on recent claims on microtunnel projects and how they were resolved. Question 2: In section3, “descriptions and remarks”, are we constrained to the space provided for commentary? It does not print if we use more than the allotted space despite being able to type in more information. Answer 2: Respondents are not constrained to the printable space provided in the electronic forms. All of the information provided by the Respondent in the fields will be extracted from the electronic forms that will persist as the formal record. If wanting a printed copy for their own records, Respondents are encouraged to record their responses using a word processor application. A signed copy of each Addendum must also be included with the bid submission. Failure to include this Addendum may be cause for rejection. RFQ06.2020 Fairview Cove Trunk Sewer Microtunnel

To All Bidders of RFQ06.2020: Please note: the following addendum applies to RFQ06.2020 and shall be taken into consideration when preparing bid documents.

The Request for Qualifications closing date has been extended to October 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Atlantic Time. Question 1: Will you relax the distance from a single launch location of 400 LM to 150 LM for two of three projects requested? Answer 1: The execution of the Fairview Cove Trunk Sewer presents several challenges which include microtunnelling drives between approximately 300 m and 450 m in length. To qualify for this project, Respondents must have completed a minimum of three (3) microtunnelling projects in the past eight (8) years, each of which having at least one drive length greater than or equal to 400 m. Question 2: Will you extend the completed project time frame of the projects we are able to submit to 12-15 years? Answer 2: To qualify for this project, Respondents must have completed a minimum of three (3) microtunnelling projects in the past eight (8) years, each of which having at least one drive length greater than or equal to 400 m. Question 3: Would the City consider allowing more than the three projects requested to fulfill the requirement, reduce the drive lengths to 150 LM to two of the three projects and extend the time period for the allowable projects to 12-15 years? Answer 3: It is not intended necessarily that an individual project will satisfy all of the mandatory experience requirements. An individual project may satisfy more than one of the criteria and should be indicated in multiple rows in the Reference Project Summary Table(s)

accordingly. Alternatively, an individual project may satisfy only one of the criteria and Respondents are encouraged to identify more than three reference projects such that a minimum of three projects are referenced for each of the mandatory experience requirements. To qualify for this project, Respondents must have completed a minimum of three (3) microtunnelling projects in the past eight (8) years, each of which having at least one drive length greater than or equal to 400 m. Question 4: Could you clarify what you are looking for under the qualification statement for “general information on equipment and shaft construction method”. We would require fairly detailed information to suggest a shaft construction method as an example, that has yet to be provided? Or are you looking for our history of shaft building experience? Answer 4: For Equipment, we expect Respondents will provide details on the microtunnel boring machine (MTBM) available and intended for use on this project, such details including: manufacturer, model, cutting head, etc.; as well as any other specialty equipment relevant to the microtunnel construction. For Shaft Construction Method, we expect Respondents will provide details on their shaft construction experience in the context of what they intend to construct for this project. We appreciate with limited information available at the time of the prequalification that the Respondent’s actual shaft construction method must reflect design requirements and ground conditions, which will be provided with the final design and tender documents. A signed copy of each Addendum must also be included with the bid submission. Failure to include this Addendum may be cause for rejection.
