Smarter project work for a more complex world
Adaptive strategic execution program
Welcome to the adaptive project leadership course catalog
A daptive project leadership
has many benefits, the most
fundamental of which is the ability
to change course when the situation
requires. At every level, project
leaders have to be more responsive
to surprise market shifts, more resilient
to unpredictable disruptions, and more
adaptive in situations where what
has always worked no longer does.
By giving leaders the right approach,
methods, tools, and capabilities
to navigate these challenges,
organizations can become better
able to do what they need to and
meet their goals. Leaders who are
flexible and think strategically can
make the right choices in uncertain
circumstances, leading the business
forward rather than stifling it with
rigid thinking.
We hope you enjoy browsing this catalog and finding the right courses for your or your team’s professional development goals!

Adaptive Strategic Execution Program (ASEP)
You can earn recognition for
your accomplishments and the steps you take to raise your performance and benefit your career.
By developing leaders with the
right approach, methods, tools,
and capability to navigate this
business context, organizations can
increase their ability to execute strategy
and achieve goals. Leaders who are
not wedded to an ideology, strategy,
or other methods can act strategically
in volatile circumstances, leading a
business forward rather than stifling
it with myopic thinking.
The Adaptive Strategic Execution
Program (ASEP) built in partnership
between Duke Corporate Education
and Strategy Execution, focuses
explicitly on building leaders of
project-driven work as they navigate
unanticipated market shifts and
unpredictable industry disruptions.
It is structured around three domains
that influence and define how work
gets done: strategy, work, and people.
To earn a program certificate of comp
letion from Duke University’s Fuqua
School of Business, two required
courses and four electives must be
successfully completed.
• Consisting of eight courses,
the program will holistically equip
you with the necessary adaptive
leadership skills to succeed in our
volatile and complex environment.
We want to create adaptive leaders
who can: think and act strategically to
understand, respond to, and influence
the vision, goals, and intended
outcomes of the work.
• Constantly redefine and reconfigure
the work to execute the strategy as
effectively and efficiently as possible.
• Engage people doing the work
through meaningful interaction that
unlocks their potential.
To earn the Adaptive Strategic
Execution Program Certificate, learners
must complete:
• Aligning Work with Strategy
• Making Sense of Complexity
and choose 4 of the following:
• Building Effective Teams
• Delivering Business Value
• Driving and Influencing Change
• Design Thinking for Results
• Influencing Without Authority
• Managing Critical Relationships
