N.B:
This instructions manual providesinformation on the correct use of theADAPT® multidirectional system inaccordance with the principles set forthin standard EN 12810-EN12811.
The personnel in charge of theassembly procedure need to be trainedand comply with all the safetyregulations.
All assembly personnel should besubjected to an initial medicalassessment and a subsequent annualcheck-up to guarantee they arephysically capable of executing thework in question.
Only personnel who have beenauthorised by the management of thecompany entrusted with the installmentmay access the scaffolding during theassembly phase, thereby preventing thesame from being used by third partiesprior to the assembly being concluded.
The basic individual protectionequipment used in the assembly of thescaffolding comprises: a safety helmet,safety footwear, a double cable safetybelt (vest), protective goggles, workclothing.
The loading, unloading and transportand the palletizing area should besigned as a means of protectingpedestrian walkways.All material should be stored selectively(grouped in families).
Prior to commencing the assembly ofthe scaffolding the team head shouldinspect all the material to be used anddefective material should never beused.
Introductory notes
ADAPT® MULTIDIRECTIONAL SYSTEM
The ADAPT® multidirectional system is galvanized and consists of vertical standardsjoined by horizontal and diagonal bars to form a rigid structure.All the elements are connected by means of the characteristic scaffolding nodes. Thisnode is formed by an 8-hole (coupling positions) 9 mm thick disc set 500 mm apart onthe vertical standards.
The ADAPT® system can be used in a wide range of projects: facade scaffolding, slabshoring, mobile towers, access stairways, roofs, stages and other applications involvingconstructions, industrial premises and event infrastructure.

ADAPT® TESTS
ADAPT®
In order to guarantee high standards of manufactured product quality, an update tostandards EN 12810 and EN 12811 was conducted in 1983, which replaced theprevious standard UNE 76 502: 1980 – HD1000: 1988 CEN.
A European standard approved by CEN on 04/09/2003.
This new standard replaces standard HD 1000 and is divided into 4 parts:
1 – Standard UNE-EN 12810-1 – facade
scaffolding with pre-fabricated components
- Part 1 - Equipment Specifications
2 – Standard UNE-EN 12810-2 - facade

HORIZONTAL BAR
Manufactured in S235JR - EN10027 hot-dip galvanized steel tubing with 80µ of averagethickness.The 0.75 m and 1 m bars are made from Ø48 x 3.2 mm diameter tubing. The remainingdimensions are made from Ø48 x 2.3 mm tubing with steel heads and bolts on the ends whichtogether form the coupling. Striking the bolt with a hammer forces the head against the verticalstandard tube, creating a rigid and safe node. Striking the inner side of the bolt in the oppositedirection will unlock the system. When used as protection bars they always comprise a structuralelement of the scaffolding.

ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY OF THE EQUIPMENT
Prior procedures
This manual provides the necessary information on the correct use of the ADAPT®
multidirectional system scaffolding in accordance with the principles set forth instandard EN 12810-EN12811.
Works data
Establish the purpose for which the scaffolding is to be used. The scaffolding should becapable of being adapted to the use in question. As such, we need to be aware of allthe data and elements which might in some way influence the assembly of theequipment. Hence, the following data needs to be taken into account:
• The loads involved;• The configuration of the building;• Interferences in the length and height;• The type of work to be conducted on the scaffolding;• The ground load capacity;• Special protection equipment:• Lower area support structures;• Access to the work site;• And areas for loading and unloading material.
Collective safety and protection:
INTRODUCTORY NOTE: Regardless of the regulations referred to in this manual, allthe collective safety requirements in force, common sense and responsibility in theexecution of the work should be complied with at all times. This safety regulations may,for example, involve protection nets, signage, pedestrian detours, etc.The project manager or the entity entrusted with the management of the same isresponsible for the implementation of these regulations

• Installation of a fence in the area inwhich the equipment is to be unloaded24 hours prior to the arrival of the same;
• Inform the community in the vicinity ofthe worksite about the installation of theequipment and notify of the precautionsto be taken when necessary;
• Notify those in charge of thecommercial areas in the vicinity of theinstallation of the equipment, of the timeforecast for the equipment to enter intoservice and of the precautions to betaken when necessary;
• All material should be storedselectively (grouped in families);
• The loading, unloading and transportand the palletizing area should besigned as a means of protectingpedestrian walkways;
• Prior to commencing the assembly ofthe scaffolding the team head shouldinspect all the material to be used anddefective material should never beused.
Safety regulations and tips:
As a rule, we recommend checking:
• The condition of welded parts;
• The existence of obstacles hampering or impeding the assembly of the equipment.
Checking by parts:
ADJUSTABLE JACKS The nut should slide freely;
HEADS
Should be completely free of any incrustations
hampering or impeding the full insertion of the same
into the nodes (discs or other element);
WORK AND STAIRWAY PLATFORMS
Should feature:
• 4 handholds;
• 2 safety bolts;
• 2 stabilising “clips”.
SPIGOTS Should be in perfect working order;
MONTANTES The “couplings” should be in perfect working order.
SAFETY

The scaffolding fixings are directly proportional to their load capacity in accordance withthe height of the same.
In accordance with European standards UNE EN 12810 and UNE 12811, severaldifferent finite element calculations were conducted resulting in a user-friendly table forstandard assembly, rendering specific structural calculations for each scaffolding heightunnecessary.
A standard assembly is regarded as any facade featuring pedestrian walkways, gravelprotection, garage walkways or consoles.
Above 65 metres scaffolding vertical standards need to be reinforced with connectingtubes fixed every 2 metres and connected with spigots (see the diagram on page 2)
