On-Call Relief Receptionist at ALIB IR#4

Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Job Summary:

The Adams Lake Band requires Receptionist to work under the direction of the Supervisor to complete general

office procedures; mail/fax processing; receives office visitors; answers inquiries by telephone; and takestelephone messages when staff members are not available.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

Multi-Switchboard Operations: Answer incoming calls; telephone messages, screen calls and direct calls toappropriate destination.

Receiving office visitors and company officials, greeting visitors ascertaining their business and escorting orplacing them in contact with the appropriate staff member.

Process incoming and outgoing mail/faxes/emails; and photocopy necessary documents for distribute to theappropriate department.

Operate office equipment i.e. photocopier, computer, fax, calculator, etc.

Type basic correspondence: letters, memos, and notices.

Preparation of Courier packages.

Maintain bookings of ALIB Boardroom and ALIB Hall.

Ordering and maintaining of sundries and office supplies.

Nature & Scope of Work

The Sexqeltkemc lakes Division is a coalition of the Neskonlith, Splatsin, and Adams LakeIndian Bands. In 2009, the member bands signed a Sexqeltkemc Lakes Division ResourceSharing Protocol and this position will be responsible in ensuring accurate minutes are

taken for all meetings.

Under direction of the Political Coordinator, the Minute Taker is responsible forsensitive matters; therefore requiring confidentiality, and professional performance onall levels. In addition, this position requires exceptional inter-personal and

communication skills for a self-motivated individual who has the ability to work

independently and as a team member.

Duties;• Attend all general and special meetings of the Political Council.

• Assist the Political Coordinator in ensuring that all previous meeting minutes,

recommendations, action items and motions are brought forward on the agenda.

• Have members sign a list of attendance at meetings.

• Take minutes of meetings, record recommendations and motions both in minutes and

separately for easy reference. Record minutes using an electronic recorder and

transcriber for own verification.

• Responsible for recording and tracking all action items.

• Bring copy of Minute book and Book of motions to meetings for reference purposes.

• Distribute copies of the previous meeting minutes prior to the meeting for review.

• Be a signing officer for the approved minutes.

• Follow outline for recording and preserving minutes.

Wages: To be Negotiated.

ABORIGINAL DAY LIVE FLAG CONTEST 2013 OFFICIAL RULES

NATIONAL ENTRIES

The Aboriginal Day Live and Celebration Flag Contest 2013(the "Contest") is held by Aboriginal Peoples TelevisionNetwork Incorporated ("APTN"). The Contest is subject tothese Aboriginal Day Live and Celebration Flag Contest2013 official rules (these "Contest Rules").

1. TERM OF CONTEST

The Contest will begin on or about April 1, 2013 and allentries must be received by APTN by no later than midnightET on May 17, 2013 (the "Contest Term").

2. CALL FOR ENTRIES

APTN is issuing a call for entries for the Contest to residentsof Canada aged 12 to 17 years (excluding Nunavutresidents) during the Contest Term. The one official winner(the 'Winner") will provide the original, unpublished artworksubmission (your "Artwork Submission") that, in APTN's soleopinion, best reflects the essence of National Aboriginal Day,in accordance with the judging process and criteria set outbelow. The winning artwork submission will be transferredinto flag format. The Winner's flag will be raised at the APTNHead Office in Winnipeg, Manitoba during Aboriginal DayLive and Celebration on or about June 22,2013.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

To enter, mail your Artwork Submission as per thespecifications outlined in these Contest Rules to:

Artwork Specifications:

i. Artwork submissions must be submitted on an

11" x 17" sheet of art-quality paper. The designdimensions (size of actual image) should cover anarea of approximately 7" high x 14" wide (2:1 scaleof paper). DO NOT fold artwork submissions formailing - please mail Artwork Submissions flat orcarefully rolled in an appropriate tube container.

ii. Artwork Submissions must be hand drawn andcoloured with paint, crayons, pencil crayons ormarkers (please do not use pastels). ArtworkSubmissions should be colourful and bold enoughto stand out when transferred to flag dimensions.

iii. Artwork Submissions must be entirely original,unpublished and must not infringe any third party'srights.

iv. Artwork Submissions provided to APTN for theContest will become the sole property of APTN,including intellectual property rights, and will notbe returned.

Entries are limited to one entry per person. If multipleentries are received from the same person, only the firstentry received by APTN from that person will be accepted.Entries must be received by APTN no later than midnight ETon May 17, 2013. APTN assumes no responsibility for lost,late, incomplete or misdirected entries or any other failure ofany kind resulting in the entry being lost, destroyed,damaged, misdirected or delivered after the end of theContest Term.

3. PRIZE

The Winner will be awarded a $500 CDN cash prize; airfareand two nights' hotel stay in Winnipeg, Manitoba for two (theWinner and one of the Winner's guardians/parents); and theopportunity to participate in the Aboriginal Day Live andCelebration on or about June 22, 2013. If the Winner'sArtwork Submission was submitted as the result of a classproject and, as such, was initiated by the school he/sheattends, an additional cash prize of $750 CDN will beawarded to the school toward the purchase of classroomlearning materials. The total approximate value of the prizeis $2,500.00 CDN.

4. JUDGING

On or about May 27, 2013 at the offices of APTN, located inWinnipeg, Manitoba, one winning Artwork Submission will bechosen by an APTN staff judiciary committee from theeligible entries received. Entries will be judged on a pointscale for originality, relevance to the National Aboriginal Daytheme, quality of Artwork Submission, and will be subject toconfirmed eligibility, observance of submission specificationsoutlined in these Contest Rules, compliance with these

Contest Rules and the entrant's inclusion of all requiredinformation.

The Winner will be notified as soon as possible, in themanner described below, after the judging process has beencompleted.

5. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to Canadian residents between theages of 12 to 17 years during the Contest Term (excludingNunavut residents). Entrants may only participate with theauthorization and consent of their parents/guardians, andtheir signing of the entrant's Artwork Submission shallconstitute such parent/guardian's authorization and consent.Employees, representatives, agents and consultants ofAPTN, or their promotion and advertising agencies, andmembers of the immediate families (immediate family isdefined as parent, sibling or any person residing in the samehousehold as the employee or consultant) of any suchemployee, representative, agent or consultant, are noteligible to participate in the Contest.

6. NOTIFICATION AND VERIFICATION

The Winner will be notified by telephone or other meansbetween May 28, 2013 and May 31, 2013. APTN may leavea voicemail message for the Winner. APTN assumes noresponsibility for incorrect information provided to it by theentrant, technical failure or for lost, late or misdirectedcorrespondences. Failure for any reason by the Winner tocontact APTN to accept the prize within ten (10) days ofnotification having been attempted by APTN may result indisqualification and the selection of another entrant as theWinner. Decisions of APTN regarding the selection of theWinner and all other matters relating to the Contest,including the interpretation of these Contest Rules, are finaland binding. Chances of being selected as the Winner arebased on the number of eligible entries received and thejudging criteria described above. The Winner may berequired to submit valid identification demonstrating eligibilityand compliance with these Contest Rules within ten (10)days following attempted notification. Failure to complywithin this time period may result in disqualification and theselection of another entrant as the Winner. In order to bedeclared the official Winner, the selected entrant and his orher parent/guardian must also complete, sign and return aWaiver, Release and Consent form provided by APTN,which shall include a copyright assignment and waiver ofmoral rights, within ten (10) days of attempted notification byAPTN, and must have abided by all of these Contest Rules.Failure to return the completed Waiver, Release andConsent form within the time stipulated may result indisqualification and the selection of another entrant as theWinner.

7. GENERAL CONDITIONS

By entering the Contest, each entrant and his/her legalguardians accept and agree to be bound by these ContestRules and by the decisions of the staff judiciary committee,which shall be final and binding in all respects. The prizemust be accepted as awarded, and no substitution ortransfer of the prize is permitted. Entrants and theirparents/guardians consent to APTN's use of their name,likeness and Artwork Submission for advertising andpublicity purposes, without additional compensation unlessprohibited by law. By entering the Contest, the Winner andhis or her parent/guardian authorize APTN to post his/hername and prize on the APTN website. All personal

information collected as a result of the Contest will bemanaged in accordance with the APTN Privacy Policy(Extemal), which may be viewed online at www.aptn.ca orobtained by contacting the APTN Extemal Privacy Officer at(204) 947-9331. Operation of the Contest and theinterpretation of these rules are govemed by the laws ofCanada and are subject to all applicable federal, provincialand local laws and regulations. Any litigation by a Quebecresident respecting the conduct or organization of theContest may be submitted to the Regie des alcools, descourses et des jeux du Quebec for a ruling. Any litigationrespecting the awarding of the prize may be submitted to theRegie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach asettlement. The Contest is void in every jurisdiction in whichit is prohibited or restricted by any law, statute, or otherappropriate authority. APTN, its agents, its affiliates, and itssponsors do not warrant that the Contest may be enteredlegally in any particular jurisdiction. Subject to the approvalof the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux duQuebec, APTN reserves the right, in its sole discretion, tocancel, terminate or postpone the Contest or to add, cancelor modify any provisions set forth in these Contest Rules asnecessary for any reason or as required by applicable law.

APTN LAUNCHES SEVENTH

ABORIGINAL DAY LIVE & CELEBRATION FLAG CONTEST

March 25, 2013, Winnipeg, Manitoba - Aboriginal Peoples Television Network(APTN) announces the launch of the seventh annual Aboriginal Day Live & CelebrationFlag Contest. The contest is open to residents of Canada aged 12 to 17 years, and isdesigned to encourage youth to share their vision and pride of Aboriginal heritage.

APTN invites and encourages all youth to design a flag that represents the richness anddiversity of all of Canada's Aboriginal Peoples, and illustrates what National AboriginalDay means to them."

The annual flag contest is part of APTN's Aboriginal Day Live &Celebration event, whichinclude a nationally televised concert featuring live performances by some of Canada'stop Aboriginal artists, slated to take place this year on Saturday June 22, 2013.

The contest winner will receive: a trip to Winnipeg (along with one parent/guardian)including accommodations; an opportunity to be featured on APTN; an invitation to takepart in APTN's Aboriginal Day Live & Celebration; and a cash prize of $500. The winner'sflag will be raised above APTN's headquarters in downtown Winnipeg.

New this year: One entrant among all submissions received from residents of Nunavut willbe selected to win a trip to Iqaluit (along with one parent/guardian), includingaccommodations; an opportunity to be featured on APTN; and an invitation to participate inAPTN's Aboriginal Day Live & Celebration in Iqaluit. The winner will also receive a cashprize of $500.

In the case of both winners, if the designs were initiated as part of a school project, theirschool will also receive $750 towards the purchase of learning materials.

The contest opens April 1, 2013. All entries must be received at APTN's Winnipegheadquarters by midnight ET on May 17, 2013.

The winner of the 2012 flag contest was Cynthia Undyantara. Her vibrant designreflected the core teachings of a culture based on an appreciation for nature, friendship,and a quest for spiritual enlightenment and guidance. It was selected from a total of 267entries received from across Canada.
