NEW SCHOOL YEAR! SERVING THE LORD IN SPAIN NEWS FROM THE LEHMAN FAMILY Greetings in the name of Jesus! The past month has gone by quickly, and it has been full of activity. Like many of you in the States, the Lehman kids are back to school! Hannah is entering 8 th grade at a new school, Noah is in 5 th grade, Abigail is in 3 rd grade, and Jonah has started 2 nd grade. We thank God for a summer full of activity and blessings for the mission and look forward to his continued blessings as we start a new school year. Please pray for our children as they grow and learn this year. Update on Mario: As many of you know, a member of the Spanish Lutheran Church (Mario) traveled to study at the seminary in the Dominican Republic. His school year has begun as well. At the seminary, he is being prepared to serve the church as a pastor. Along with academic studies, he is visiting members and performing various duties as a vicar at the local church. Mario has told us that he is enjoying his time and is learning a lot. Please continue to pray for Mario as he studies and learns among other pastors in the area. DID YOU KNOW? Tapas in Seville, Spain Tapas are small portions of food on small plates, eaten any time from lunch to the late night. Many regions in Spain claim to be the birthplace of the “tapa”. Seville has a very strong claim of being where it all began. Derived from the Spanish term for “lid” or “top,” this cuisine began with thin slices of bread and meat to cover the tops of drinks between sips. Tapas then developed into a complement to drinks, given free of charge with your drink order. DID YOU KNOW?

Tapas in Seville, Spain

Tapas are small portions of food on small plates, eaten any time from lunch to the late night.

Last month, we mentioned a wedding in Portugal. On a beautiful afternoon in Albufeira, Portugal, Pastor Lehman performed a wedding ceremony. We were blessed to be a part of the wedding of our dear members in Portugal. God will certainly bless the union of this young couple as they begin their life together.

In the next month, we will be preparing for our annual Asamblea (Assembly). This is a yearly meeting where all of the Spanish Lutherans come together in one place for worship, study, and fellowship. We will be welcoming the Rev. Dr. Robert Sorenson as our speaker. Dr. Sorenson will be teaching about life in the early church. Please pray for us, our members, and fellow missionaries as we travel from our various cities to meet and be together in His Word.

WEDDING IN PORTUGAL!

The peace of Christ be with you today and always!
