QUALIFICATIONS LUC

LUL SUP DC Power Site Manager/Inspector 2011-2013 (DC Power upgrades) Acting as the client’s representative I was site based ensuring that the contractor(s) were delivering the contracted works safely to the required quality and remained on schedule. I provided a comprehensive shift report at the end of each shift to the Construction Manager which gave the office based project team visibility with the progress of work on site, as well as details of the staff, plant, materials as well as issues encountered what I’d managed to resolve on the day and any issues left to address e.g. design issues, non-conformances, snagging. My approach to this role was of total collaboration with the contractor working as a team for the right outcome.

McNicholas Electrical Supervisor/SPC 2008-2011 (SER Projects, Barbican IMR Relocation) As the supervisor for the delivery contractor I was ultimately responsible for the safe and timely delivery of the works to the correct specification. One of my sites required the relocation of the Interlocking Machine room (IMR) at Barbican Station, where I provided constructability reviews during the design of works, scheduling of the works, writing method statements and risk assessments for the works, ordering materials and allocating operatives / trades to the various tasks / activities on site, creating O&M files and final hand over completion files. Again working closely with my colleagues and wider stakeholders outside of the company was essential to deliver the project successfully.

M J Quinn electrical Electrician/SPC 2007-2008 (Station refurbishment) (Foreman) Supporting the Lead Supervisor I was responsible for the direct supervision of 15 staff on site in the capacity of Site Person in Charge (SPC)/Foreman. The station refurbishment works comprised installation of new CRMS, new and temporary platform lighting, new and temporary switch gear, new and temporary sub main systems and LV cabling.

Southern Thermal Fire and Safety Electrician/SPC 2006-2007 (Station refurbishments/survey works) Supporting the Lead SPC as he was new to the role, I took lead responsibility for ordering materials and keeping stock of material on site for the entire site as well as acting as SPC for my own area of works. Due to my willingness to take on responsibility I often covered the Lead SPC role, provided input to design matters and alterations on site and offered solutions to the Principal Contractor.

E.D.F Energy Electrician/SPC 2005-2006 (Station refurbishments) As an experienced member of the team, more often than not I acted as the Lead SPC, Liaising with the Station Supervisor on a nightly basis, Briefing the workforce before and after works, Issuing and checking PPE, booking out the track with the aid of a Protection Master and looking after the general health and safety of my work party. I also ordered materials and kept track of material on site and was central the resolution of any issues that needed addressing on site.

M.J. Quinn Electrical Ltd Electrician/SPC 2004-2005 (Connect project) (Foreman) The project involved the installation of metal containment, small power and lighting circuits utilising trunkings, conduits, trays and other CRMS systems, NICEIC Testing. My keenness to know what was happening and how things were done meant that I was soon up-skilled to act as SPC; from here I started to supervise my own team installing containment systems at other stations.

M and P Electrical Apprentice/Qualified 1996-2004 (Commercial and domestic) My career started with this small company as an apprentice which also involved me attending college on day release. Once I qualified and my manager had confidence in my competence I was allocated a company van, my own work party and started running and working on my own jobs. These included Hewlett Packard computer rooms, apartment blocks, offices, shop fit outs, factories and air conditioning works.
