Angela, who is a Certified Permanent Makeup and Medi-Cosmetic Tattoo- ing Artist, offers a variety of services to enhance the beauty and self-confidence of her clients. These services are broadly characterized under the categories of tattooing and microblading. “I offer lips, eyebrows and eyeliner with the tattooing,” said Boulton. “It’s like a body tattoo, but doesn’t go as deep into the skin. You’re looking at up to 10 years and like any tattoo, it can fade over time and a colour boost may be necessary.” “Microblading is about a year in du- ration. It is with needles as well, but you’re making more of a cut into the skin and putting the pigment in that way, therefore it’s not as deep as a tattoo where the pigment is being im- planted.” Angela explained that her client base includes women of varying ages, and who may have a range of different reasons for requiring her services. “You have to be at least 18 years of age, or have a parent sign for you. On the other hand, I’ve had an 85-year- old come in to get her eyebrows done.” “Permanent eyeliner and brows are really helpful for women who aren’t able to do their own makeup, either due to impaired vision or physical restrictions with their arm. You can also change your look by having your brows done, as they really help frame the face. For lips, tattooing can change the shape of a lip, redo a lip line, or bring back colour that has been lost. I also help women who have alope- cia or who have had chemo treatment and lost their brows. This year I’ll also be training for areola tattooing so to help women who are recovering from a mastectomy.” Whatever the reasons for seeking An- gela’s services, what she enjoys the most about her business is helping women with their self-confidence. “I am thrilled to have opened up in St. Marys and I look forward to serv- ing the community and surrounding area,” said Boulton.
