corrosion, grout infill etc will be the critical issues
New Method introduced by the HILTI with the development of
Technology
Procedure 1. Consult your structural Engineer for new size of
column need to sustain new floor loads and new reinforcement
sizes.2. Contact one of HILTI Engineer to get necessary
instructions to fix new reinforcement
3. Drill holes to specified diameter and depth
4. Clean holes with blow out pump provided
5. Insert HILTI RE 500 chemical with the use of dispenser
provided ( No hand mixing)
6. Insert the column reinforcement bars and keep 8 hrs to
cure
7. Roughen the concrete surface and provide some shear
connectors with
HILTI HY 150 or HILTI RE 500 bonding agent
8. Arrange reinforcement as usual
9. Do the form work according to the column size
10. Apply any bonding agent if necessary and do the concreting
as usual
Advantages1. Very fast construction application. Maximum 2 days
to complete the total task
2. Low cost ( less than Rs.600/- to fix Y16 bar at nominal
embedment depth )
3. Application is so simple and no chance for mistakes
4. No risk for the job
5. Pullout test will be done by HILTI Engineers before
concreting to ensure the strength
if necessary
6. All technical support will be given by HILTI Engineers
7. Architecturally looks like originally cast column
