AcuDesktop™ is an industrial strength, general-purpose, desktop based Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software developed by ACUSIM Software, Inc., the developer of leading commercial finite element-based CFD solver technology and solutions. With superior robustness, speed and accuracy, AcuDesktop offers complete CFD capabilities from pre-processing, solver solutions, to post- processing in an easy to use, single integrated software environment. Advanced Solver Technology AcuDesktop typically solves a given problem in the first attempt. Fully converged solutions are reliably obtained using AcuDesktop’s efficient steady-state solver. Nonlinear convergence remains strong even as solutions approach their final result. Two key components contribute to this robustness and speed: (1) the Galerkin/Least-Square (GLS) finite element formulation; and (2) a novel iterative linear equation solver for the fully coupled pressure/velocity equation system. GLS is a higher-order accurate, yet stable formulation, with a well-established mathematical foundation. The linear solver yields significant stability and convergence advantages over the segregated solution procedures commonly found in many commercial incompressible flow solvers. It can work with very complex geometries, build simulations from CAD or Mesh and import 3D CAD models from ProE, Parasolid, ACIS, Discrete, Catia V5, or import an existing mesh in various formats. AcuDesktop has a built-in automatic mesh generator with boundary layers and is capable of efficiently solving unstructured meshes with high aspect ratios and badly distorted elements commonly produced by fully automatic mesh generators on complex industrial geometries. These capabilities enable highly accurate results in greatly reduced solution times. Upgrade to AcuSolve AcuDesktop is built on AcuSolve technology, the flagship product of ACUSIM Software. Users can easily upgrade from AcuDesktop to AcuSolve.
