Sew Much Fun
The highlight of the month for members of the club
was the quilt show at Festival Hall on April15 and 16. With a background of a great band playing smooth jazz near the building, people enjoyed examining the
wonderful quilts on display created by members of the Lake Oconee Quilt Guild, several of whom are our
own SEW Much Fun club members. They are Susan Guss, Libba Holmes, Emmy Odegaard and Nancy Pe-terson, shown here at the show with her colorful
quilt.
Stop in on a Friday 11am-3pm at the craft room, and watch our basket of fabric flowers grow into a lovely
piece of art!

Yoga All levels. Beginners welcome! Enjoy the therapeutic benefits, stress reduction, and stretching.
Tai-Chi Fusion Tai-chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.
Pilates Benefits of pilates training: a balanced body, flat stomach, balanced legs, and a strong back.

The DelTones
The DelTones have had a great month with the opportunities to sing for both on property and the Greensboro community. In May we’ll be singing again for another outside group and also at the Memorial Day observance here at DWLO. We will be taking a break for the summer but will be back singing in September. Ladies of DWLO, if you like to sing, we’d love to have you sing with us. If you have any questions, contact Gene Anderson at [email protected].

ARE YOU LIT? – Your house number sign is lit 24/7. Eventually it will go
out, but it’s an easy fix for anyone. Yes, anyone. Two small 5 watt 12 volt
lamps provide the light for the panel. The lamps pull straight out and push
straight in. When one burns out, the light goes off. Lamps are available
locally, but they’re five bucks each and only rated for 3000 hours. That
sounds like a long time, but actually it’s only four months. If you’re an
Amazon Prime customer, you can get ten lamps (item: 5 watt T3 ¼ quarter
base clear xenon 20,000 hours) for ten bucks. Split an order with a neigh-
bor, and you’ll both be set. Installation – Using only fingers (NOT pliers
or tools), pull out one lamp. If the filament is intact, reinstall it. If not, throw it away and install a new lamp. Do
the same for lamp number two. If it’s too difficult to see the filament, throw both old lamps away and install two
new lamps. The light should come back on when you install lamp number two and you’re finished! ARC meet-
ings for May will be on the 12th and 26th.

Community Happenings
Carolyn Stryker,
walking stick winner
The latest trip to the Okefenokee Swamp was a great success. Led by our fearless leader John Eadie, many of us saw and learned about
parts of Mother Nature about which we were clueless. All the wonderful Okefenokee Swamp Refuge employees and volunteers kept
us interested and entertained for the entire trip. John even arranged for a special guest "Okefenokee Joe.” Joe told us stories, sang
"swamp" songs, and gave a snake presentation. He was entertaining. The best part wasJohn's personal insights and experience with
the area. The personal memories he shared with us about his boyhood living in the Okefenokee Swamp made this trip unforgettable.
Everyone there, I am confident, had a wonderful time. Lots of interesting sights, plenty of laughs, and way too much food. John says
this will be his last guided tour to the swamp, so all we can say is we were lucky and ......... THANK YOU, JOHN!
