Why Would a Customer Buy the Competitive Product?

ACS350 has FlashDrop capability that allows configuration without the need to

power the drive.

Competitive pricing for distributors and direct OEM's.

Has Panel Cover that allows FAULT and POWER LED display like the

Bulletin 160, a single line LCD display/programmer Basic Control Panel or a 4

line LCD display/programmer Assistant Control Panel.

Real time clock capability for time logging of faults.

ACS350 uses application macros that are preprogrammed parameter sets. These

pre-define I/O configuration.

ACS350 can provide and accept pulse train signals.

ACS350 Encoder option.

Key PowerFlex Selling Points

PowerFlex 40 has more communication adapters. ACS350 does not offer

EtherNet or ControlNet.

PowerFlex 40 has superior speed control as well as higher levels of torque

especially at low speeds.

The PowerFlex 40 has 150% overload capability for 1 minute and 200% for 3 sec.

The ACS350 has 150% for 1 min and 180% for 2 sec.

The ACS350 requires cable clamping plates to facilitate I/O grounding and

securing multi-conductor cables. This adds more than 1" to overall height;

therefore the ACS350 takes up more panel space than the PowerFlex 40.

The ACS350 is limited to 10 Hp at 460V and has no 120 or 575 volt ratings.

The ACS350 has 1-form C relay output, 1-digital output and 1 analog output(current only). The PF40 has 1-relay out, 2 digital outputs and analog output set

for mA or V.

ACS350 does not provide flange mounting.

ACS350 requires current de-rating for ambient temp between 40-50 deg C (1%/

deg C).

ACS350 requires extra hardware for drive mounted speed pot.

PowerFlex 40 has 160 page user manual, ACS350 has 280 pages.

PowerFlex 40 has configured program for assorted enclosure and hardwareoptions. ACS350 configured options allow programmers to be shipped with

drive UNINSTALLED.

The ACS350 basic control panel blocks the FAULT LED, so removal is required

to see it.

The ACS350 basic control panel has an LCD display, but can only show 4 digit

number for parameter number or fault code.
