    e Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) Steering Committee met on 3 February 2010 to discuss the issu

    m the AFAP Conference held on 9 December 2009 at the FHCC. Of the top 17 issues briefed to t

    ommander, eleven of those issues were closed by the committee. The remaining issues will be reviewed b

    e committee monthly until all of the issues have been resolved.

    ticket info to meet this need. FMWR and USO

    provide these services.

    There are several off post pharmacists withinwalking distance to fill prescriptions.

    Web site is up and running. USFHP has available

    pediatricians

    This privilege is only authorized for DOD civilians

    overseas, not in CONUS.

    Provide an active movie theater on Post.

    E1-E4 are entitled to free memberships to the FHC

    our civilian population and workforce by the Army

    Continuing Education System (ACES).

    DOD regulates Commissary access. DOD civilian

    employees who reside on post are authorized limite

    PX privileges.

    On behalf of the Waiting Families Support Group we cordially

    SURVIVOR OUTREACH SERVICES

    ACS at Fort Hamilton is pleased to present Survivor Outreach

    Services. SOS is an Army initiative to demonstrate its

    commitment to Families of the Fallen. SOS will provide

    assistance and offer support to Families by providing integrated

    support and referral services. SOS serves as the long term

    support for Survivors, conducts support groups, Survivor

    events, briefings to the community and the leadership andprovides supportive counseling.

    ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF helps the following:Soldiers on Active Duty and their dependents.

    Members of the Reserve Components of the Army on continuous Active Duty

    For more than 30 days and their dependents. (This applies to soldiers on AD

    For training or serving under various sections of Title 10, United States Code.)

    Retired Soldiers, either due to longevity or physical disability.

    Widows and orphans of Soldiers who died while on AD or while retired.

    Topics covered are Principles of Personal Finance, Planning and Budgeting, Banking and

    Checking, Using Credit Wisely, Getting Insurance, Saving and Investing, Making Large

    Purchases and Consumer Scams.

    We assist Unit Commanders and Leaders in training Soldiers and

    Remember the Safe Horizon Hotline

    a great resource for DomesticViolence and Sexual Assault

    at 1-800-656-4673. Also,

    SARC has a 24 hour Response

    Hotline at 347-452-4302. The

    SARC assists victims of Sexual

    Assault with reporting options,

    and provides access and referral

    to medical, law enforcement

    and counseling services.

    Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a

    mandatory enrollment program that works with other

    military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive

    and coordinated community support, housing,

    educational, medical and personnel services to Families

    with special needs. An EFM is a family member (childor adult) with any physical, emotional, developmental

    or intellectual disorder that requires special treatment,

    therapy, education, training or counseling. Respite care

    is available for Families or caregivers.
