COMMUNICATION AND DIDACTICS OF ART

The course is designed to give curators adequate theoretical-practical knowledge and a specific education in order to understand the complex mechanisms related to the art system and to the cultural offer of visual arts. The graduation lays the bases for two different career briefs: the first one is related to the world of art and its exhibition, study and preservation places; the second one is related to didactics for schools and museums.Thus, the graduates of this course have to:• acquire,togetherwithdirectknowledgeoftheinstrumentsofart,asoundtheoreticaleducationinorder to permit them to do at their best the task of educators, especially in the museum field and in exhibi-tion facilities;• acquire,inadditiontosomehistoricalknowledge,organizationalcompetencesrelatedtodifferentneeds, which emerge in the management of exhibition facilities (museums, art galleries);• acquirespecificeducationinordertostarttheirautonomousprofessioninthesphereofmuseumorganization,eitherpublicorprivate.Job opportunities: didactic activities related to artistic performances; assistant in the sphere of museum organization,eitherpublicorprivate;arrangementandorganizationexpertsofartisticperformances,pressoffices and public relations; art libraries and video libraries; editor for the publishing industry and art ma-gazines;qualifiedassistantforthemanagementofprivateartgalleries.

RESTORATION

This area aims at preparing professional curators and restorers of artistic heritage, able to preserve and enhance cultural heritage. Graduates of the five-year single cycle degrees:• havethetheoretical-scientificcompetencesandknowledgeinordertosalvageandpreservecultu-ral heritage through specific interventions;• areabletoworkintheinstitutionsthatmanageandmaintainculturalheritageandinprivatepro-fessionalorganizationsthatoperateinthefieldofconservativerestorationandambientrecovery;• areabletouseatleastoneEuropeanUnion’slanguageefficiently;• haveadequatecompetencesandinstrumentsforthecommunicationandtheinformationadmini-stration, in particular with information technology equipments.Professional activities in the field of restorationGraduates obtain the qualification of restorer of cultural heritage;theycanworkwithlocalorganizationsand specific institutions such as authorities, museums, libraries and archives, as well as with firms and pro-fessionalorganizationsthatoperateinthefieldofrestoration,culturalheritagepreservationandambientrecovery. This area aims at preparing artists and qualified professionals able to develop their own individual research on traditional techniques of sculpture, as well as on the elaboration and experimentation of new expressive languages. This area aims at preparing artists and qualified professionals able to develop their own individual research on traditional techniques of sculpture, as well as on the elaboration and experimentation of new expressive languages. COMMUNICATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF ARTISTIC HERITAGE

The course aims to prepare people able to fit in any enhancement activity that is complementary to all protective actions operated by the Cultural Heritage Superintendence. Indeed, while in Cultural Herita-ge graduate courses of universities the scientific staff of conservatorship will be formed, in this course of academic degree are formed professionals who, having acquired theoretical knowledge and design skills, are able to intervene with specific training in all activities and projects aimed at the improvement of the use, knowledge and understanding of the archaeological, historical, artistic, architectural and landscape heritage.In particular, the graduates will have gained:• adequateknowledgeofCulturalHeritageasawholeandofitsdifferentcomponents,fromatheo-retical, historical and regulatory perspective;• ageneralknowledgeoftheenhancementprocessesappliedtothesinglecomponentsoftheCultural Heritage;• theconceivingcapacityandtechnicalskillsnecessaryforthedevelopmentofprojects,evencom-plex,indifferentfieldsofvalorization.Job opportunities: graduates can act in the specific field of enhancement or as freelancers with proposals for specific activities and projects aimed at all public entities which are responsible for promotion of cultu-ral heritage, as employees or consultants to the culture departments of regions, provinces and municipali-ties; as designers of exhibitions, of museum exhibitions, of paths in the territory; as employees of founda-tionsandprivateinstitutions,specializedpublishinghouses,companiesfortheorganizationofculturalevents.

The course was founded in the AA 2004/2005, by convention with Pavia University, the Sanitary Science Department and Psychiatric Division.This course aims at: • promotingartist-therapistsandexpertsinvisuallanguagedevelopment,withhighprofessionalprofile;• developingtheabilitytorecognizeandmanageproblematicsituations,aboutpsychicand/orsocio-environmental disorders;• preparingsupportoperatorsabletointeractintherapeuticequipwork;• promotingknowledgeofartisticpracticeandtheinteractingoftheartisticexpressionwithinthera-peutic processes with doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists;• experimentingartisticdevelopingmethodologies,aimedtoabetterknowledgeofoneself,ofone'sbody, and personal expressive skills. • givingmorevaluetohumanresourcesandprofessionalism. This area aims at giving students mastery in methods and specific artistic techniques, in order to give them knowledge, planning and expressive methodologies about the use of representation instruments and arti-sticpractices.Thecourseproposestodevelopknowledgeofnewinstruments’practices.Theinstrumentsare technological and expressive, both traditional and contemporary; they concern the use and manage-ment of space and the use of materials for the accomplishment of projects on the territory. FASHION DESIGN

The aim of the course is to prepare specialists in the artistic planning of clothing able to create collections with a strong creative component, in which manual skill and knowledge of artisan-industrial techniques can be applied expressively and innovatively. Special attention will be dedicated to the study and research on textile and non-textile materials, in order to find new formal languages through different materials. Furthermore, the aspect of communication will be enhanced through the study and design of concepts, which can be spread in the internet. The course tends to prepare a highly flexible professional figure, able to take part in our productive system, which is made up of different kinds of business: from artisan firms tosmallandmedium-sizedcompanies,asfarasindustries.
