演 出 的 話 每年遠道合唱團皆舉辦年度音樂會，將一年辛勤練習的成果呈現給熱愛合唱藝術

的各界人士，三十年來從未間斷。本團一向以本著對合唱藝術純真樸實的愛好、

藉音樂陶情養性以及認真學習的態度為榮為傲。每年我們都排練二、三十首歌曲。

至今我們的曲目肯定不下五百首。此次的演唱會命名為「珍珠禧慶 駿馬奔騰」，

嘗試回顧一些經典的曲目，並將過去幾十場音樂會的主題呈現給大家， 表達「耕

耘三十年如一日的心情，熱摯不減勇往直前的態度」。今年還選練了幾首高難度

的歌曲，團員們除了「以歌會友」之外，體力、耐力也經歷了磨練。期盼能獲得

您的共鳴。

Message from the Singers ……

The Vancouver Chinese Singers is into its 30th season this year. We strive to maintain a

high standard of music quality, to enhance each member’s ability, and to capture the

interest of our audience. Our Chinese choral music repertoire covers a variety of styles

and originates from different time periods and regions. Tonight’s concert includes

selections from traditional to modern styles in both Chinese and western repertoire.

This year’s theme, “The Chance to Celebrate”, is to express our delight in sharing

some of our best repertoire over the past 30 years with the audience in this wonderful

setting – the Vancouver Playhouse. We sincerely thank our guest artists, sponsoring

groups and individuals for their continuous support. Their efforts have made this

annual event possible.

指 揮 Conductor：康 幼 琳 Katherine Lu 康女士出生於音樂世家，自幼在其父著名音樂家康謳教授的薰陶下，對音樂藝術產生濃厚興趣。先後師從著名聲樂家鄭心梅、申學庸及 Mrs. Watson 專攻美聲唱法十餘年，並完成加拿大皇家音樂學院高級聲樂考試。兩度赴北京中央音樂學院深造，在中國著名資深聲樂家郭淑珍指導下學習民謠之詮釋及唱法。亦曾隨女高音 Anna Tamm Relyea 女士專研數年英文及德文歌曲。康幼琳是海外華人音樂藝術熱情倡導和傳播者，於 1980 年、1984 年與夫婿盧定平先生及音樂愛好者組織溫哥華漢聲合唱團及遠道合唱團。自 1997 年任遠道合唱團指揮至今，以她對於音樂的一份熱愛與執著，帶領了一群中華兒女，勇向專業的合唱領域邁進。

Katherine, born in Taiwan, graduated from U.B.C. with B.Sc. major in chemistry. She first started voice lessons as a teenager in Taiwan. Later she studied and completed the Royal Conservatory curriculum under the guidance of Beth Watson in Vancouver. She has studied the techniques of singing English songs and German lieder with Soprano Anna Tamm-Relyea for several years. In the past years, Katherine has been giving recitals regularly. She was twice in Beijing, China to study the interpretation and singing of Chinese folk songs. Katherine is one of the founders of the Vancouver Chinese Singers Society. She has been the conductor for the group since 1997. She is now teaching Mandarin full time at Burnaby North Secondary School. Recent years, Katherine has been furthering her musical studies with Lorraine Reinhardt and John Trotter.

伴 奏 Accompanist：彭 憶 芬 I-Fen Peng 從三歲與音樂結識, 既一路接受台北福星國小, 南門國中, 師大附中等音樂班嚴謹的音樂訓練. 1986年以術科甄試第一名成績保送國立臺灣師範大學音樂系,主修鋼琴演奏, 師事葉綠娜

老師, 並副修小提琴, 聲樂及南胡. 1991年追隨世界聞名鋼琴大師 Earl Wild, 就讀美國俄亥俄州立大學音樂系碩士班, 1994 年獲俄亥俄州辛辛那提音樂院三年全額獎學金, 繼續攻讀博士班, 並輔修鋼琴伴奏. 在美國求學期間曾獲辛辛那提古典音樂廣播電台邀請演奏, 也擔任大學伴奏助教, 經常與教授和學生參與各類形音樂會的演出. 2000年取得鋼琴演奏博士學位. 2001 年六月入圍美國華盛頓州 Ladies Musical Club Awards-Tour Competition 鋼琴決賽. 2002 年彭憶芬全家移居加拿大, 致力於鋼琴演奏及教學. 擔任過兩屆溫哥華 Kawai 鋼琴大賽評審. 義大利 Casalmaggiore Music Festival 伴奏助教, 受地中海豪華郵輪之邀請演出, 並與無數當地的優秀音樂家合作活躍於大溫哥華音樂舞台. 在遠道合唱團擔任伴奏之外彭憶芬也為無數年輕學生伴奏音樂會及考試. 曾為美聲合唱團及 First Baptist Church-Vancouver 之伴奏. 目前在 Burnaby & White Rock 有個人的音樂教室. 她曾經任職於台北市莊敬高職, 美國西雅圖 Pacific Northwest School of Music, 及台南科技大學任助理教授. I-fen Peng Ms. Peng began studying piano at the age of four, and received her musical education through the music-gifted school system in Taiwan. She won the full-time scholarship to continue her studies in USA, and got her master degree in piano performance from the Ohio State University, and doctor degree from Conservatory-College of Music, Cincinnati University in OH. Her major teachers include Earl Wild, Rosemary Platt, James Tocco, Eugene Pridonoff and Li-Na Yeh. Her collaborative piano study started in CCM with Sandra Rivers and Griffith Kenneth. Ms. Peng has performed solo recitals in Taiwan, USA and Canada, and made broadcasts in WGUC, Cincinnati. She studied from the master classes of Hans Lygraf, Menahem Pressler, Peter Vinograde, and Ruth Laredo. She has collaborated with many local and international solo players, and continues to explore her chamber music repertoire and experiences throughout the world. She taught piano as an assistant professor in University of Art and Technology in Taiwan, as well as ear/aural training in several music-gifted high schools. Before she moved to Canada, she taught piano in Suzuki Music

School in Seattle WA and established her private piano studio successfully. In 2002 she and her family settled in Vancouver, Canada where she teaches piano, ensemble, music theory, and also as a member of British Columbia Registered Music Teacher’s Association and Canadian Federation of Music Teacher’s Associations, Ms. Peng contributes her musical talents to be an active festival adjudicator, enthusiastic chamber musician, choir accompanist and a dedicated piano/ theory teacher.

伴 奏Accompanist：徐 虹 華 Sophia Hsu

原名徐婉禎, 台灣台南人, 畢業於台南女中、國立台北藝術大學。大提琴師承鄭依晴、林克明、

馬諾欽、張正傑、張毅心, 鋼琴師承李潤愛、王雪萍。爾後獲加拿大溫哥華音樂學院獎學金, 師

承 Lee Duckles (VSO 大提琴首席), 於 2000 年獲大提琴表演藝術家文憑。 求學期間即於各樂

團任大提琴手: Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra、New Westminster Symphony Orchestra、

Kamloops Symphony Orchestra、B.C. Chamber Orchestra。

2001 年回台, 任職於高雄市立交響樂團兼任大提琴手, 以及各音樂班, 如崇文國小、嘉義國中、

信義國小、前金國中、樂育中學、樹德大學等, 亦多次擔任音樂比賽評審。2003 年參與繆思三

重奏於高雄至善廳演出, 以及多位台灣作曲家的作品發表會擔任大提琴演奏。

2007 年移居 Canada, 組成中西室內樂團, 結合古典與流行, 受各單位邀請, 並於 2008, 2009 年

受邀於台灣文化節演出, 廣受囑目與好評。

盧 定 京 James Lu

James Lu has been playing the flute for fun since high school. He actually started playing the oboe

first in junior high, but switched to the flute when he realized he had no reed making talent. Two

years ago James started on flute lessons again for stress relief. James is a public health physician.

韓 天 義 Cindy Han

Cindy, 16, was born in Shanghai, China. She had learned the piano since the age of four with Dr. Jongjong Wang in Shanghai. After she immigrated to Canada with her family, she continued her musical studies under Dr. I-Fen Peng. She has completed the RCA - ARCT at piano at the age of 14. Cindy has won numerous medals and scholarships in many festivals and competitions which include the Kiwanis Festival, Fraser Valley International Kiwanis Festival, Richmond Music Festival and Kawai Competition etc. She plays chamber music with violinists for recitals and examinations. She became the youngest student to obtain the RCM Certificate of Intermediate Piano Pedagogy last year. Now Cindy is the accompanist in Oversea Chinese Bible Study in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Richmond. Besides piano, Cindy plays flute in the Richmond High Senior Concert Band. In her spare time, she likes to go to concerts, read and play sports.

Lorraine Reinhardt - Soprano

Lorraine was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada. As a child, she took private voice lessons and sang in her church choir, school choir, and community choir. She went on to further her studies in the Department of Music at the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree (with distinction). Lorraine first heard the Vancouver Chamber Choir perform live in Saskatchewan in the late 1970s. She later attended a Choral Federation workshop presented by Jon Washburn. Following her move to the West Coast, Lorraine joined the Choir full-time in the Fall of 1988. In addition to her career with the Choir, Lorraine also teaches singing lessons at her private studio and at Kwantlen University College in Langley, British Columbia. She is the Vocal Coach for Chor Leoni Men's Choir and the Musical Director at Augustana Lutheran Church. Lorraine frequently adjudicates both solo and choral classes in music festivals throughout British Columbia. She performs occasional solo concerts with orchestral and choral organizations in the greater Vancouver area.

Rick Dorfer – Violinist

Dr. Rick Dorfer enjoys the great variety he has developed in his career. As a violinist, Rick is a member of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra and takes great joy in performing chamber music. He is a conductor with the Surrey Youth Orchestras and directs the chamber music program. Rick leads a vibrant teaching studio in South Surrey. He appears on faculty at many summer festivals and is regularly invited to give master classes and adjudicate festivals. Leading into it's eighth year, Rick serves as the Artistic director of the Music, Meadows and Mountains retreat. Rick’s postgraduate training included an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School and culminated in a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Washington.

Ben Goheen - Cellist

Ben holds his MMus degree in cello performance from UBC, where he graduated in 2008. Since then he has enjoyed performing with several symphonies in the lower mainland including Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as well as Nanaimo's Vancouver Island Symphony. He loves performing with a wide variety of chamber ensembles, and as a solo performer, he has enjoyed the opportunity to perform for a season with Ballet de Printemps, for festivals such as Vancouver's Sonic Boom, and for many studio recordings. As an instructor of over ten years, Ben has been on faculty for several music schools, including Surrey (Studio G Music), Langley (LCMS), Abbotsford (CVAM), and as far as Lillooet (Fountainview Academy). He has also been a dynamic coach with various youth symphonies, including Surrey Youth Symphony and Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra, and has been on faculty for various summer music camps. Ben continues to appreciate the camaraderie that develops from the time and energy devoted to all things music -- with both professionals and students alike. When he is not practising or performing, he loves spending time with his wife, Mylana, and their two spunky children, Phoebe and Oscar.

溫哥遠道合唱團記事曆 1984年 5 月 20日 一群熱愛合唱藝術的朋友決定成立合唱團, 全體開會通過以盧定平先生

提議之『遠道』為名, 並登報徵求志同道合的朋友。全體推選盧定平先生為理事長，石建壘先生為首屆團長， 特邀陳慧中女士為指揮．

1985年春天 石建壘,盧定平, 楊廣為, 陳樹沛設計製作『遠道』團徽.

1985年 11月 12日 假溫哥華音樂學院(Vancouver Academy of Music)音樂廳, 舉辦成立週年『故園情之夜』,首次演出中國合唱歌曲 25首之多.

1986年 5 月 香港兒童合唱團訪溫 Orpheum 劇院演出，邀請本團客串演唱四首中國合唱曲.

1986 年 7,8 月 溫哥華舉辦世界博覽會(EXPO 86), 主辦單位邀請本團參加演出兩場, 曲目以中國民歌為主.

1987 年 5月 18日 應邀參加美洲龍岡新義總公所懇親大會聯歡晚會, 演出合唱民歌數首. 1987年 6月 6日 參加溫哥華中國文化語文學校主辦之慈善音樂會, 演唱民歌六首 1987年 8月 參加溫哥華/北京俱樂部溫哥華港灣輪晚會, 演唱中國名歌數首 1988年 3月 參加溫哥華中國文化語文學校主辦之中國之夜, 演出合唱名曲數首 1988年 5月 28 日 假West Point Grey United Church舉辦音樂會, 邀請西雅圖融融合唱團參

加聯合演出, 並有李潔小姐民謠鋼琴獨奏. 1988年 6月 3日 應 MTC 電子技術公司之邀參加其新工廠開幕典禮, 並在慶祝晚會中演

出. 1989年 5月 20日 赴西雅圖參加西雅圖融融合唱團之演出. 1991年春節 應 UBC 台灣聯誼會之邀, 以特別來賓參加演出. 1991年 6月 15日 假溫哥華 45街協和教會(Ryerson United Church)演出『民謠之夜』. 內

容有中國, 加拿大民謠, 李白詩詞合唱曲, 女高音康幼琳獨唱, 李潔鋼琴獨奏及廖御琪長笛獨奏等.

1992年 2 月 6日 假溫哥華中國城獅子會等(Brotherhood Inter-faith Society)之邀, 於其第26屆晚會中演出, 地點在溫哥華貿易會議中心. (Vancouver Trade and

Convention Centre). 1992年 6月 20日 假溫哥華小女皇劇院演出, 以中國民族歌曲為主, 亦演唱數首英文名

曲, 蕭泰然教授為本團所譜團歌『遠道』首次演出. 由徐樹安先生客席小提琴伴奏. 以上皆由陳慧中指揮

1993年 7月 3日 假本那比威靈頓(Willington)教堂演出, 所選歌曲仍以中國民族歌曲為主. 由林智玲指揮, 另由陳慧中指揮音樂會室內合唱團客串演出.

1994年 7月 2日 假南本那比中學新落成之劇院演出. 內容有李白詩詞, 青山盟在組曲, 台語民歌藝術小品等合唱曲. 女高音康幼琳獨唱中國民謠, 嘉賓何秋霞和袁艷芬的琵琶二胡演奏. 由孫昌及蔡淑霞指揮

1994年 10月 23日 應中僑互助會之邀, 參加溫哥華奧芬(Orpheum)劇場『松風鶴舞敘藝星』匯演中演出屈文中曲李白詩詞等五首. 由孫昌指揮.

1994年 12月 18日 應多倫多華人藝術家中心之邀, 參加溫哥華小女皇劇院(Playhouse)演出之『楓鄉菊研』音樂會中演唱, 由孫昌指揮

1995年 6月 5日 1995年適逢抗日勝利50週年, 緬懷死難軍民, 激勵新生一代華人毋忘此一民族浩劫, 於南本那比中學劇院舉行紀念抗日勝利五十週年演唱會. 除由孫昌先生指揮之懷念古曲外, 特別演出愛國歌曲九首, 贏得聽眾熱淚盈眶. 此外尚有嘉賓項思華, 董榕森, 張武男, 吳贛伯及譚紹慈的國樂演奏為之增色.

1995年 7月 2日 應邀前往西雅圖 Mercer Island High School 參加西雅圖青青合唱團, 西
