Access to Higher Education Diploma Business Pathway

60 credits (45 credits@ level 3 + 15 credits@ level 2)

Credits are gained through Coursework and TestsAssessment is through:-• Written work• Discussions• Presentations• Financial Documents• Tests

GRADING

• PASS – meet criteria – to include description, analysis and evaluation

• MERIT – as above to a very good level• DISTINCTION – as above to an excellent level (there are no additional criteria to meet to

gain Merit or Distinction grades, these are awarded purely on quality of work meeting the unit criteria)

CRITICAL TO SUCCESS

• ATTENDANCE – 90% minimum• SUBMISSION OF ASSIGNMENTS TO DEADLINES• WORKLOAD 14/16 hours per week in class

plus 14/16 hours per week in self study• An average of at least one assignment per

week from September to May.

COSTS

Fees for 2011/12 £600 payable by students who have already studied

for/completed a Level 3 course

Plus material fee £ 25 payable by all students

PROGRESSIONThe programme is recognised by the Quality Assurance Agency for HigherEducation (QAA) and therefore by all UK universities as a standard entryqualification.

Learners from this programme progress onto a wide range of course at university.

You are recommended to check with your intended university/universities if there are any specific entry requirements needed for particular courses e.g. English/Maths at grade ‘c’ or above or equivalent, the number of OCN credits and at what level.
