    Amity Township Residents: Important Recycling Collection Information for 2020

    Please be advised that Eagle Disposal has been awarded the contract with Amity Township to collect recyclables for the term of 1/1/18 - 12/31/20. We look forward to servicing the residents of Amity Township. Our goal is to provide you with superior customer service. Please reference the calendar and the guidelines for acceptable recyclables below. If you should have any questions, please contact us at 717-355-9560.

    Metal Paper & Cardboard Glass Plastic

    • NO Materials in Plastic Bags

    • NO Plastic Bags • NO Scrap Metal

    • NO Books • NO Contaminated

    Pizza Boxes

    • NO Window Glass • NO Light Bulbs • NO Mirrors

    • NO Toys • NO Styrofoam • NO Ceramics

    What Can Be Placed Out As Recyclables? • Paper and Cardboard (no books, no contaminated pizza boxes) • Wax Cartons: Milk, juice, soup, flavored drinks and cartons can

    be recycled. • Aluminum and Steel containers • Glass (no window glass, mirrors or light bulbs) • Plastics #1-#7 (no toys, styrofoam or ceramics)

    Why Recycle? • It’s convenient for the residents. • More recycling keeps more material out of

    the landfill. • You can use your own container (up to 35

    gallons) just put the recycling sticker on it! • More recycling can lead to more tax dollar

    savings by earning the township DEP funds.

    Observed holidays are noted in RED. Collection days that fall on or after the holiday will be delayed one day. EXCEPTION: If holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there is no change in service prior to or after the holiday.

    BASIC SERVICE INFORMATION • Recycling must be curbside by 6:00 AM on your scheduled collection day, which is

    Wednesday, except as noted on the calendar when a holiday delays collection one day. Residents on routes 422, 662 and 562 must be out by 4:00 AM.

    • Extra Containers: If you wish to use an extra container for recycling collection, simply pick up a recycling sticker from Eagle Disposal or the Township building and place it on any container up to 35 gallons and make sure the sticker is visible to the collection crew.

    • Recyclables will be collected with a truck that will resemble a trash truck. • Please reference the Accepted Recyclables section on the reverse side of this mailer to

    ensure that you are placing the right material in your recycling bin.
