With mirth and silliness to spare, this tra-ditional musical favorite pokes

gentle fun at all things British.

Our audience favorite is quickly becoming a holiday tradition as the Christmas treat ushers in the season.

This delightful musical is the age-old tale of “boy-meets-girl” and the complications that ensue on a trans-Atlantic voyage.

It’s a loving homage to the history of comic theatre and a tribute to the performers who made that comedy so memorable.

A musical revue celebrating the glory of American music in the fifties and the two men behind it all, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.

This classic comedy hit is a frenzied, hilarious, madcap black comedy featuring two murderous aunts serving up deadly wine to lonely, elderly gentlemen.

Directed by cinematic visionary John Frankenheimer (The Manchurian Candidate, Ronin), the action moves overseas to Marseilles where Doyle is tracking the one drug trafficker that eluded him in New York. After being held captive and tortured by the man he pursues, he enlists the help of the French police and the pulse-pounding chase is on once again. www.foxstore.com

HARR’SSURF AND TURF MARKET

HARR’SSURF AND TURF MARKET

FOOD & BEVERAGEFOOD & BEVERAGE

by Barbara McGovern

Summer is here and the living is easy or at least it should be. Now you want to turn

your home into a gourmet experience but how to do this you ask? It’s easy, in a word, Surf and Turf Market ( well maybe that’s more like four words ).

Harr’s Surf and Turf Market in Clover Place Shopping Center in Palm Harbor is where you will become the new Paula Dean. If you aren’t familiar with Surf and Turf, do your mouth a favor and visit. They have been in Palm Harbor since 1987 so you know they have to be good to still be there. Ervin Harr and his wife have made this a family business. Ervin, his wife, her mother, and her son Stephan are still working with each other in the kitchen. As a team they develop new recipes plus they have a full time chef that works with them. They have 35 long time employees that make sure that things run very smoothly. The food and the service is out-standing. You can either come into the market to shop or you can place your order from home and everything will be ready to be picked at

your convenience. Great care is taken with each order to make sure everything is perfect. Whether you are ordering a full freezer order or just a few items they make sure that your order is packed just as you requested. The personal service is something you seldom get in this day and age.

Check out their wine selections. With over 1,000 labels to select from you will be able to find exactly what you want. The staff is very knowledgeable and they will be more ready to help you. Their meat display looks like a still life by Chardin. One of their unique items is dry aged beef, which is seldom available any more. Beef is usually aged by two different methods, wet aging and dry aging. Wet aging is the regu-lar method where the meat is placed in plastic and aged under refrigeration for from 2 to 4 weeks. Dry aging is a much more complex processes. Drying beef this way takes anywhere from 3 weeks to well over a month. Only the finest cuts of beef are used and everything has to be done exactly right. The meat is hung in a cooler and allowed to age naturally. This way

f you have been denying yourself one of life’s

greatest pleasures due to diabetes or food allergies, rejoice! A Eugene,

Oregon company has created a delicious

gourmet non-dairy ice cream for folks with lactose

intolerance, soy allergies, glu-ten allergies, and folks who are vegans.

Founders Larry Kaplowitz and his wife Luna Marcus found that soy ice cream was laden with chemicals and just as unhealthy as the dairy versions. They started experimenting using coconut milk as the base, and Coconut Bliss was created.

Coconut Bliss is made from a base of naturally rich, choles-terol-free coconut milk and sweetened with low-glycemic agave syrup. It is USDA-cer-tified organic, and 100% vegan.

the flavor and tenderness will increase with the aging. It’s available only in the finest restau-rants such as Bern’s Steak House or at very high end meat markets such as Surf and Turf. In New York, even if you can find aged beef, you will pay $60 per pound. At Surf and Turf the same product will run you about $18 per pound. Quite a difference. Admittedly a steak like isn’t something that you have everyday, but who deserves it more?

Surf and Turf is the go-to place for chicken, great roasts, chops and perfect ground beef.

They have a wonderful selection of fresh fish right off the boat. Salads, sushi, ready to eat smoked ribs and a wide assortment of daily pre-pared gourmet hot meals are ready for you to just take them and go. There is also a wide selection of frozen dishes that are made in house and just need heating up.

The selection of cheese is impressive and they have all kinds of gourmet items to dress up any meal. Be sure to check out their deli where they made great sandwiches — which are huge, enough for two. A sandwich, some cheese and

crackers, a nice bottle of wine and perhaps a lit-tle tiramisu for desert and you are on your way to the ultimate picnic with no cooking involved.

Surf and Turf can cater your party, from 10 to 300 people. They make and serve everything , again, no work for you.

If you haven’t visited Surf and Turf yet, please do at The Shops at Clover Place, 3235 Tampa Road, Palm Harbor; 727-787-6758 or 727-785-8873. Check out their website at www.surfandturfmarket.com

BON APPÉTIT!

Coconut BlissA Delicious Alternative

Tropical fats and oils got a bad rap in the 90s, but the fat in coconut milk is high in medium-chain triglycerides (fatty acids), which are radically different than the long-chain fatty acids that increase cholesterol and lead to obesity, heart disease, cancer and other problems. MCTs actually help reduce the risk of heart disease and raise “good” HDL choles-terol.

Although sweeter than sugar, agave syrup has a much lower glycemic index, which means it causes only a gentle rise in blood

sugar. Many people who are sensitive to sugar can tolerate agave. The ice cream comes in 8 flavors, with more to be added soon. Enjoy such treats as “Mint Galactica”, “Cherry Amaretto”, “Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge” and more to your heart’s con-tent. You can find Coconut Bliss at natural food stores. According to Don Julio, to create a sublime and subtle tequila you must

perfect every aspect of each step along the way: from the cultivation of the agave plant to the barrels the tequila is aged in. It is not a process that can be performed by machines. Each step requires the skilled and practiced hands of people trained in the art and craft of tequila.

With five hand-crafted, 100% blue agave tequilas, Don Julio offers superb choices. Each has exceptional flavors and surprising complexity for the tequila con-noisseur. Here is a Margarita recipe with a

distinctly summery twist:

A July reopening is planned for the Hall of Presidents, an in Magic Kingdom.  An Audio-Animatronics version of President Barack Obama will join representations of the previous 43 presidents of the United States as part of an attraction that has been celebrating American history since Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1971. “Disney’s Celebrate America!-A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will dazzle Magic Kingdom guests at 9 p.m. on the Fourth of July.  That same park will feature a performance of the “SpectroMagic” night-

time parade, at 10:30 p.m.  In the meantime, Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests are treated to a 9 p.m. performance of “Fantasmic!” while

at Epcot, a holiday-inspired “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” bursts above World Showcase Lagoon at 10 p.m.

Stage. Guests are invited to participate in a Galaxy Day celebration when the new outdoor stage comes to life with music and a giant LED screen displays interactive animation. Near Cinderella Castle, Mad Hatter, Genie, Lumiere and Sebastian pop out of four huge boxes that dominate the floats.  They join about a dozen other Disney characters to mix and mingle and dance in the street with Magic Kingdom guests during a 12- to 15-minute party that takes place three times daily. New music, new cos-tumes and changes to some of the floats are part of the afternoon Magic Kingdom parade, “Celebrate a Dream Come True.” The proces-sion through the park is an update to the for-mer “Disney Dreams Come True” parade with more pauses – during which party dancers per-form to get guests into a celebratory spirit – and with a grand marshal in the lead role of the procession.

The whole family will be rockin’ and rollin’ to leg-endary music this summer at Epcot when popular tribute bands take the stage at America Gardens Theatre. Seven tribute bands will rec-reate classic hits from musical icons under the stars as part of the Sounds Like Summer con-cert series. Here is the lineup: June. 15-21 – Stayin’ Alive – A Tribute to the Bee Gees; June 22-28 – Hotel California – A Tribute to the Eagles; June 29-July 8 – Slippery When Wet – A Tribute to Bon Jovi; July 9-19 – Bjorn Again – A Tribute to ABBA; July 20-26 – The Sounds of the Supremes – A Tribute to the Supremes; July 27-Aug. 2 – 2U – A Tribute to U2; Aug. 3-9 – Petty Theft – A Tribute to Tom Petty.

- Starting in late June, the Pearl drops anchor in Adventureland for The Pirates League, recruit-ing and training park guests of all ages in the scurrilous ways of buccaneers. Each guest gets an official pirate name. Next is the application of beards and eye patches, scarves and scars,

earrings and gold teeth. The new shipmates speak the pirate oath and have their official “pirate portrait” taken before being turned loose on an unsuspecting Adventureland..

The fun soars to new heights at Downtown Disney with an iconic new tethered balloon that takes guests on ascents of up to 400 feet above the waterfront. Characters in Flight operated by Aerophile, a 72-foot-diameter bal-loon, can lift up to 30 guests at a time on a six-minute trip – thanks to its enclosed volume of 210,000 cubic feet of lighter-than-air gas. The ascents, by day or night, provide guests with unpar-alleled, 360-degree vistas. Guests board a gon-dola beneath the 105-foot-high balloon from a landing platform on Village Lake at the end of the main promenade at Downtown Disney West Side.

- With plenty of shady spots for out-door dining, Disney’s Animal Kingdom now serves up an alter-native to restaurant mealtimes: Guests can order a “Picnic in the Park” for al fresco dining. The to-go meal includes either sandwiches or rotis-serie chicken or ham.  All meals include sides, desserts and bottled water for each guest.  Sandwich pic-nics range from $24.99 for a meal for three to $48.99 for a meal for six; rotisserie picnics range from $29.99 for three to $56.99 for six. Guests can

make arrangements by stopping at a podium near the entrance of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

- Interactive wizardry that combines comedy, real-time animation and live musical madness dazzles guests dur-ing Stitch’s SuperSonic Celebration in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. Stitch hosts a zany interactive expe-rience at the new Rockettower Plaza

Stage. Guests are invited to participate in a Galaxy Day celebration when the new outdoor stage comes to life with music and a giant LED screen displays interactive animation. The new show incorporates the same inter-active technology used in “Turtle Talk With Crush” and “Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.”

- Floats, a cast of Disney characters, stilt walkers and more “move it” down Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom, accompanied by high-energy tunes and an open invitation to guests to come join the fun during performances of “Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!” street party.

- Iron Chef Cat Cora and Disney are join-ing forces to open a new family dining restaurant at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Kouzzina by Cat Cora will feature a menu of Mediterranean-style cuisine that pays tribute to the chef’s Greek roots. The res-taurant is scheduled to open by fall 2009 in the space currently occupied by Spoodles.

f you think you’ve been there, done that with dining in Epcot’s World Showcase, well you haven’t. In keeping with their continuous

updating throughout the park, Epcot’s restaurants also never sleep. Two of the most recent big changes have occurred at China’s Nine Dragons, and Italy’s Tutto Italia (formerly Alfredo’s).

ine Dragons has been completely refurbished to reflect a more modern look, yet retain some of the exquisite beauty of traditional

China. A stunning heavy hard-carved wall separates the lobby from a section of the dining room, and 9 different magnificent glass dragons are featured in lit boxes along a wall. The dining area has a lighter feel now that the heavy reds have been replaced with colorful lanterns and a sleeker decor.

The menu is also more contemporary, with some fun and clever appetizers, such as the crisp shrimp and taro “lollipops,” deep-fried and

served on a stick. Entrées range from traditional such as fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and kung pao chicken, to a peppery shrimp with spinach noodles, spit-roasted Beijing chicken with mashed taro and a mix-and-match noodle sampler. Patrons can also order family style including soup, entrees, and dessert.

s wonderful as Italy’s Alfredo’s was, Tutto Italia is actually better. The formal dining atmosphere is still there, with the beautiful wall

frescoes, crystal chandeliers, and tuxedoed waiters. Tables have been added to the patio for delightful dining under umbrellas, and further renovations are still planned.

The restaurant’s menu has a lighter touch now: The tomato-

mozzarella salad features vine-ripe tomatoes, fresh buffalo mozzarella, basil and Tuscan olive oil; and most of the pastas are rolled fresh in-house daily. The menu will change seasonally, but certain favorites remain, such as Eggplant Parmesan, Fried Calamari, Penne Caprese, Cannelloni al Forno and Spaghetti with Veal Meatballs. Also their classic tiramisu and cannoli are mainstays.

eaving Epcot, another sensational new Disney restaurant is located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Fans of the resort’s Jiko Restaurant

(one of the most popular of all Disney World eateries) will enjoy Sanaa (pronounced “SahNAH”) which combines African and Indian flavors. The family-oriented restaurant has 9-foot windows affording spectacular views of exotic animals roaming the Savannah. Sanaa’s cuisine is a melting pot of tastes from the Indian Ocean islands that are considered part of Africa – Zanzibar, the Seychelles, Comoro Islands, Mauritius and Madagascar.

Entrées include tandoori-roasted meats, curries, and sides such as dahl (stewed lentils), curried crushed potatoes, stir-fried green beans and slow-cooked spinach and paneer (a mild South Asian cheese).  Indian-style flatbreads

including naan, roti and paratha are paired with chutneys, Indian-style pickles and raita (yogurt-based dip).

Bermuda is one of the world’s best travel, history, and art destinations. Known for

its pink sand beaches and high style sites, Bermuda will celebrate its 400th anniver-sary in 2009.

My recent visit brought me to the quaint town of St. Georges and to the bustling city of Hamilton. Overall, Bermuda has a decid-edly British yet casual feel. It is this luxu-rious yet laid back quality that makes a visit to Bermuda so memorable.

Originally named for the Spanish sea captain, Juan de Bermudez in 1503, Bermuda was established in 1609 when Admiral George Somers landed on the island after a storm had redirected his ship, the Deliverance, from his desired destina-tion. He was trying to bring aide to the set-tlement at Jamestown, VA, but never arrived. The quaint town of St. George’s was named after Admiral Somers. The island town of St. George’s hosts the oldest continuously used Anglican church in the western hemisphere named St. Peter’s. For today’s tourists, the town is dotted with cute shops, historic sites, and protected beaches.

In Hamilton, tiny tree frogs provide the subtle background chirping noise that is unmistak-able. The city’s art museum was strategically located in the main administra-tion building in the heart of the city. The art on display at the City Hall Arts Centre paid homage to Bermuda’s strong British heritage. Works by British masters such as Sir Joshua Reynolds and Thomas Gainsborough told

Experience Bermuda As It Celebrates Yearsthe story, via portraiture, of the British merchant and noble class. The art museum also gave a nod to Hamilton’s contemporary art scene.

The really big art story in Bermuda was the public art in the form of massive installation sculptures and mixed media pieces. In par-ticular, there were many dramatic and spectacular pieces of large scale, site-specific sculptures in pub-lically accessible setting such as major corporate lobbies, city streets, expan-sive park settings, and open plazas all around Hamilton. Fountains and grand archi-tectural sites were major elements of the city’s profile.

A highlight of both the art and culture scene was Hamilton’s Fairmont Princess Hotel. The world class resort hotel is

located on one of the pink sand beaches for which Bermuda is most famous. The resort was named for Princess Louise (1848-1939, Duchess of Argyll), the daughter of Queen Victoria.

She visited the island in 1883 in an effort to spark tourism to Bermuda or “Shangri-La” as she called it.

In addition to the well-appointed resort suites of the Fairmont Princess Hotel, the

world class property is also known for its service of high tea. The British custom was first introduced in the 1840s by Anna, the seventh duchess of Bedford who needed a small snack in the afternoon. Her butler served what later became known as high tea to the duchess in secret within her bedroom’s sitting area.

Over time, the experience of high tea grew into a well known custom regularly served around 4 PM with dainty finger sandwiches, scones, and jam. Of course, there were rules involved. For instance, the proper way to pour tea was with the milk poured first into the cup.

This was to ensure that the hot tea water did not crack the fine porcelain china teacup.

My butler for high tea at the Fairmont Princess Hotel was a lovely gentleman named Mesheda. He walked me through the lengthy process of choosing the type of tea leaves I would enjoy (I selected earl grey) and the accompaniment of scones, finger sandwiches, and fruit preserves. To call it delicious would be an understatement. The high tea service at the Fairmont Princess Hotel, complete with palm tree finials on the sterling silver tea pot, has been rated as one of the Top 10 afternoon tea experiences in the world. There is even a Princess tea for little girls that comes complete with a complimentary string of pearls.

With all that Bermuda has to offer--lazy beaches, great golf, tried and true cultural and artistic traditions--it is no wonder it has been a must-see locale for centuries. Happy 400th birthday!

Divorcing couples always have an appraisal of the family home. They should have an appraisal of the objects in that home, too. The objects represent a significant piece of the marital assets. Both of you should have

had your personal property, including your joint property, appraised. Don’t negotiate until you have a correct identification and a current market analysis. Appraising these objects not only determines their current value, but also helps insure and protect items during a post-divorce move.

It may be the best time to obtain authority over the antiques or collectibles collection because those items appreciate in value. Many divorce attorneys work in tandem with expert certified appraisers who can provide proper information and educational background to identify and give the true value of art, antiques, collectibles, and other personal property. Get an appraisal before you negotiate. Even if you are happily married or blissfully sin-gle, update personal property appraisals for insurance purposes every two years. Update appraisals when you have a child, when you receive an inheritance, or when you move residences or pur-chase a home.

Happy 400th birthday!

those Lladro figurines that you purchased in Spain on your 10th anniversary trip. You don’t need those dust collectors taking up shelf space next to your beer steins in your new bachelor pad. After the divorce is finalized, you find out that one of those elon-gated porcelain ladies is worth $5,000. You’re furious that you

didn’t know how much those ‘nic nacs’ were worth. On the other hand, your husband’s fishing hobby was wonderful as long as you didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn and go with him to some coldwater stream. Now, as divorce looms, you tell him to take his creels, lures, and rods — purchased from yard sales throughout your marriage — out of the garage. Unaware that the fishing lures are pricey collecti-bles, you want his tackle boxes gone. After the divorce, you dis-cover that those smelly fishing lures sell at sportsmen auctions for $500 to $1,500 each. You nearly cough up some bait when you to learn that a Giant Haskell lure sold for over $100,000 a few years ago. That fishing lure collection that you helped pay for now could pay for your daughter’s college tui-tion!

Today, on the TLC network, online, and on the cover of nearly every popular magazine, people

are asking the question of the moment … will Jon and Kate get a divorce? That’s Jon and Kate Gosselin of the popular TV reality show, Jon and Kate plus 8. The TLC show documents the life of a Pennsylvania family raising two sets of multiples. The stresses of work and child rearing (one child or a bunch) can drive anyone to the edge. Now, add into that mix a litany of life’s other responsibilities, groups of relent-less papparazzi who are paid to follow you around wherever you go, and all the rest of the issues that go along with having a highly-rated TV show. How can the Gosselin’s situation help the rest of us? Read on.

The marital issues that millions of couples face, including Jon and Kate, are not uncommon. Yet, most people find themselves unprepared. When it comes to the nuts and bolts of evaluating personal property when and if divorce threatens your mar-riage, I have some expertise to share. Whether or not you have eight kids, here’s what you should know about your valuables when facing divorce.

You both agree that you are going to be reason-able and loving when it comes to your kids. You have retained child custody advocates, divorce attorneys, and professionals in the field to assist you. You feel good about how you have dealt with your children in this trying time, but there is still great turmoil over objects that were acquired during your marriage. The first thing you need to do is to evaluate your stuff. Consider this. You agree to let your soon to be ex-wife have

easonably priced accommodations are plentiful, and vary from spanking new state-of-the-art in town, to more remote and tranquil on an island. We opted for remote and tranquil, and stayed at the Palm Island Resort in Cape Haze. To get to Palm Island

you must take a very pricey 6-minute ferry ride, which keeps it secluded. No vehicles are allowed onthe island, so once there you get around on a bicycle, golf cart or your own two feet.

The unspoiled island itself is approximately 7 miles long and 700 yards wide at the widest part. Palm Island Resort consists of pri-

vate homes and villas — mostly 2 stories. Lights at night are kept to a minimum to protect the sea turtles

that nest in the dunes and

TRAVELOGUETRAVELOGUE make their way back to the gulf. The limited lighting also adds to the ambiance of the island. It is so lovely to walk along the beach at night guided only by moonlight, listening to the sounds of little creatures of the night and rolling surf rather than the whooshing of cars and noise spilling out of beach bars.

Palm Island is not where you go for a wild time, but rather to enjoy relaxing, a white soft

sandy beach, fishing and long walks in a natu-ral setting. The accommodations are beach-themed comfortable villas, and when the resort was built, ecology was always on the mind of the builders. Only trees and brush that were planted where the homes would stand were removed, so the natural look is preserved. The units are privately owned and rented through the resort, so each unit’s decor will vary slightly by owner. Ours was heavily stocked with books and games, as well as a DVD player, so even if the weather chose not to cooperate, we could never be bored. Even though the villas have fully furnished kitchens, Palm Island’s Rum Bay Restaurant is open for casual lunch and dinner. The resort has tennis courts and a wonderful environment for chil-dren, for in addition to the great pools and beach, there are activities through the week for them in “Kid’s Club”. At certain times Red Beard the Pirate even comes to tell tales. For the fisherman, the back bay and flats fishing for snook, snapper and redfish are excellent at Palm Island. And golfers need not worry, The resort has golf privileges at four challenging area courses close by on the mainland.

f you like to stay in the heart of things in town, we visited several area hotels that

were very inviting. The reasonably priced and very comfortable Best Western in Punta Gorda has incredible views of Charlotte Harbor, and is located right next to a lovely park with ten-nis and bicycling. It’s an easy walk to the his-toric downtown.

Punta Gorda’s newest boutique hotel is the Wyvern, right in the heart of town. This upscale Deco-styled hotel is sleek and elegant. It has a wonderful Latin fusion Restaurant named “Lulu’s” that is garnering rave reviews in town.

Located right on Charlotte Harbor is the brand new Four Points Sheraton Resort and Yacht Club. Using a nautical theme, the hotel is furnished in sun-bleached natural wood and whites, with hues of blue and colorful accents. Guest rooms include hi-def 37” flat screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi.

dventure and raw nature is abundant in Charlotte County, and we experienced

some of both during our stay. Grande Tours in Placida offers all manner of outdoor recreation — fishing, kayaking, boat cruises, etc. We kay-aked through mangroves and out to the bay with a well informed guide who gave us a his-tory of the area and pointed out various wild-life. We were excited to be in the right place at the right time to see the rare white pelicans

who migrate through the area once a year and roost on White Pelican Island. At their peak, 2,000 of the large birds will pay a visit. They are much bigger in size than their familiar brown cousins. Also to be seen are ibis, roseate spoonbills, bald eagles, along with manatee and dolphin.

Heading inland, we took a swamp buggy tour with Babcock Wilderness Adventures to witness old Florida in it’s natural state. In 1887, E.V. Babcock purchased 156,000 acres loaded with pine trees which were used to make turpentine. When the timber was logged out, he converted some of the land to a cattle ranch. In the 1940s, 65,000 acres went to the state, but the Babcock Ranch is still family owned and the largest cattle ranch in Florida. Cowboys on horses round up the cattle along with the help of cur dogs — and they still have to deal with cattle rustlers in the 21st century!

Plenty of the ranch land is still wild Florida, and you get to experience some of it on the swamp buggy tour which takes you past the ranch’s “Cracker Cattle”, and into the Cypress swamp. (Florida Cracker Cattle are the oldest in the U.S., descended from the cat-tle brought over in the 1500s from Spain.) Along the way we stopped and fed some cows, wild hogs, saw wild turkeys and other flighted creatures. But the possibility of spotting white-tailed deer or cougar eluded us that day. A 3 year-old gator was brought on board the buggy for a close examination. If you rent the Sean Connery movie “Just Cause” you can get an

idea of the ter-rain, as the film was shot on the Babcock Ranch property. Located in the heart of Bab–cock’s 10,000 acre Cypress Swamp, Cypress Lodge was once Mr. Babcock’s haven. Set on a pond (gators and all), and sur-rounded by trees, there are no sounds of mod-ern life, just the sounds of nature. The very rustic lodge is now used for retreats and spe-cial events. There was talk of it becoming a B&B, which would definitely appeal to the Thoreau in all of us.

iving in St. Petersburg, we are, of course, Tampa Bay Rays fans. We were quite

amazed at the new spring training camp set up for the Rays in Port Charlotte — the Charlotte Sports Park. The snazzy park is well thought out and family friendly. A 360° wide board-walk surrounds the field, so you can walk around the whole thing, stopping along the way for a drink or snack. There are 5,100 fixed seats in the stands, and five suites. There’s a children’s play area, and a berm near 3rd base where you can sit on the grass and watch the game. The Rays minor league team plays there in season — the “Charlotte Stone Crabs” (for-merly the Vero Beach Rays).

The marina offers transient dock slips, so you can visit the village by boat. The village shops are locally owned, so it’s fun to discover unique clothing and items. Since 1977, she has inter-viewed the band many times and their friend-ship has lasted nearly three decades. Once upon a time four aspiring authors met at their first writers’ conference. Ten years later they’re still friends. Mallory is a workaholic whose bestsellers support a lavish lifestyle. Tanya is a single mother juggling two jobs and two kids. Faye is the wife of a famous televangelist and the author of inspirational romances — with an explosive secret. Kendall’s once-promising career is on the skids—and so is her marriage. She holes up in a mountain cabin to confront a blank page and a blanker future. But her friends collaborate on a novel using their own lives as fodder, assuming no one will ever discover the truth. The book becomes a runaway bestseller, but with success comes scrutiny and scandal…as these four friends realize how little they’ve truly known each other.

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Wendy Wax graduated from USF, and was the host of The Home Front, a magazine format show that aired on PBS. She’s written seven novels, and currently lives in the Atlanta suburbs with her husband and sons. She still has ties to the St. Pete area, and Skyway Jack’s Restaurant was the inspiration for one of the settings in The Accidental Bestseller.

Clare Prentice arrives in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Although she is on assignment to inter-view the town’s reclusive novelist Nate Hanssen, Clare is really in search of a different story — her story. Just months before, Clare was a bride-to-be, living in Chicago, until the day she learned her entire life had been a lie. Not only was she adopted, but there is no record that she or her adoptive mother ever existed. The only clue is a class ring from Grand Rapids Senior High School. Determined to reconcile her past, Clare breaks off her engagement. The first piece of her life puzzle unexpectedly drops into place: Clare’s birth mother, Lily, was murdered in Grand Rapids. The murder was one of the most talked-about events in the town’s history, but no one is talking now. Clare doesn’t know the whole story — and someone intends to keep it that way.

In the hills of Tennessee, Shane Carson, a gifted, nationally-recognized horseman, is living the good life. When a mysterious mustang shows up on his farm, Shane doesn’t know how—or why—the horse appeared, but the horse’s distinc-tive brand identifies her. She is one of the Spirit Horses, a rare, wild herd that runs free on the Shoshone reservation in Wyoming. These exqui-site horses, according to belief, provide a link to the afterlife. When tragedy strikes in his life, Shane nearly loses his will to live—but for one promise he made to his young son: to return the mustang to her rightful home. On this bitter-sweet journey, Shane finds a world where tra-dition reigns, and ancient beliefs transcend modern logic. To make good on his vow, Shane must face the danger that threatens these horses, the tribe’s legacy, and his destiny.

The Franklin was a crea-tion of World War II, one of twenty-four Essex-class fast carriers built during the con-flict, forming the backbone of the U.S. Navy’s war against Japan. By the time the war had moved to Okinawa in the spring of 1945, “Big Ben” had already seen substantial combat. On March 19, 1945, the Franklin was launching her aircraft against Honshu, the Japanese mainland. Suddenly, a single enemy aircraft pierced the cloud cover and made a low level run on the ship, striking it with a 250kg bomb which pierced the deck and set off a chain reaction of exploding ord-nance and aviation fuel. Inferno tells the heroic tale of the efforts that saved “Big Ben.” www.zenithpress.com

One of the bloodiest bat-tles in Marine Corps history, Operation Stalemate, as Peleliu was called, was over-shadowed by the Normandy landings. It was also, in time, judged by most his-torians to have been unnec-essary; though it had been conceived to protect MacArthur’s flank in the Philippines. Nevertheless, the horrifying num-ber of casualties sustained there (71% in one battalion) foreshadowed for the rest of the war: rather than fight to the death on the beach, the Japanese would now defend in depth and bleed the Americans white. This book gives us a new and harrowing vision of what really hap-pened at Peleliu—and what it meant. Their richly detailed, deeply moving story is one of desperate combat in the face of almost certain failure, of valor among comrades joined against impossible odds. www.zenithpress.com

Since World War II, the nature of sea battles, and of warships, has changed dra-matically, reflecting pro-found changes in the world at large. This book offers a close-up look at what these changes entail, and how they have come into play in regional con-flicts in Southeast Asia, in escalating naval hostilities between the Soviet Bloc and the West, and in skirmishes and major engage-ments in our day. Here are the warships of the Korean conflict, and the the vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, and the aircraft carrier of the twenty-first century. With detailed pictures

and text, Modern Warships tracks the role of warships in a world of increasingly littoral naval conflict, where small nations can possess increasingly advanced technology and super-power dominance has declined. www.zenithpress.com

In the predawn hours of D-Day, June 6, 1944, which would become immortalized as the Longest Day, Bob Bearden and his comrades in the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment jumped into the inky skies over Normandy. Their mis-sion: defend the west bank of the Merderet River against German counterattack. After long months of training they were finally taking the war to the Germans. Beardens time in combat proved shortlived, however, when he was captured on June 8. This was only the beginning of a new war for his very survival through multiple German POW camps and ultimately on an epic journey that would take him largely on foot all the way to Moscow on his journey home. www.zenithpress.com

All major conflicts from America’s Revolutionary War to the conflicts in the Middle East today are covered. The authors also describes various camouflage schemes and concealment tech-niques developed through the ages. Full cov-erage is given to the heavy caliber sniper weapons of the twenty-first century. www.zenithpress.com
