City managers need an intelligent, connected ecosystem to provide more connected transportation options, advanced public safety services, better constituency interactions and even decreased pollution impacts that can make a community more desirable. TCS IUX City Command Center is a modular and scalable solution that enables the city manager to view, analyze and optimize city-level functions and events in real-time across departments.

Product Overview TCS Intelligent Urban Exchange (IUX) is an integrated, cloud-based solution that helps partners and city leaders launch smart city initiatives quickly and cost-effectively. IUX includes a core set of prebuilt modules, the IUX Platform, and a rich set of APIs for application development that leverage IUX’s real-time analytic capabilities. IUX’s modular architecture enables cities and partners to buy only what they need today with the option to add capabilities over time.

IUX collects and analyzes historical and real-time data from City IOT and non IOT sources (networks, actuators, sensors, devices, wireless access points, and social media) to provide rich insights and next step recommendations. The IUX City Command Center module allows the city operator get a view of all the real time alerts as they are being reported by various city systems – traffic management systems, water networks, police systems, fire department etc.

IUX City Command Center overlays this information on a GIS enabled map system, which allows the operator to correlate the data Geo-spatially andanalyze the impacted assets. It allows the operator to access video feeds available to qualify the event and plan an optimal response using the Standard Operating Procedures, which are run using an integrated work-flow engine. The work-flow engineallows communication of actions to various stakeholders across various city domains (Police, Healthcare, Emergency response etc.). The operator by means of the City Command Center solution can track the progress of the actions and ensure the alerts are addressed in the most efficient manner. This solution allows the operator to integrate third party systems so they can be accessed for a deeper analysis of the issues if needed.

The underlying IUX platform enables partners expose the native data models via APIs. The platform also allows creation of custom data structures that can be loaded with custom data. The custom data can be mashed up with the native data to create custom

applications. The visualization library enables the city partners to create custom dashboards.

Visibility Across City Functions. IUX City Command Center makes city operations and services more resilient and intelligent by breaking down data and operation silos of multiple city domains for more effective situational awareness and better collaboration and coordination of city resources and services.

Faster and Better Decision Making. IUX City Command Center collects and accelerates multi-departmental response efforts to incidents and emergencies across domains such as Energy, Water and Transport. City managers can understand impacted services and define and execute cross-functional processes for incident resolution. Furthermore, predicting failures and proactive maintenance streamlines operations, reduces costs and provides better experiences to the citizens.

IUX City Command Center uses intuitive and standards-based tools to define Standard Operating Procedures and resolutions for various emergency events, with notifications, resource management, analysis and actions. Users create and manage work-flows, monitor status of incident resources and track resolutions. The solution includes a robust KPI dashboarding tool with automated reporting across multiple data sources.

Extending the Value of Cross Domain Data. The IUX City Data Platform supports the City Command Center by on-boarding the data across city domains (real-time and batch) and providing an understanding of the interrelationships. The solution provides standards-based integration with city subsystems including video management systems, video walls and GIS servers. Additionally, the City Data Platform supports PMML and exposes data as an API/JSON for development of custom applications that access data from the IUX Platform, with data pipeline, model development and multi-language support for UTF-8 based languages.

Key Features and Capabilities Integrated City Operational Dashboard lets users visualize, monitor

and analyze the impact of city-level events and alerts coming from

various city subsystems. Users can track operational resources and

assets (human and non-human) for fast and effective support and

response. The integrated Video Management System enables real-

time event qualification. Integration with city GIS servers enables

users to perform geo-spatial analysis and render information on

customizable maps with GIS server integration and PostGIS database.

The solution helps predict and avoid critical failures with proactive

maintenance.

City Emergency Response Module automates and accelerates multi-

departmental response efforts across domains such as Energy, Water

and Transport. It enables users to create and manage workflows,

monitor status of incident resources and track resolutions.

Standard Operating Procedure Tool uses BPMN standard-based SOP

definition to resolve various emergency events with notifications,

resource management, analysis and actions.

Scalable All-data Environment: Simplified Hadoop data lake with

native City Data model integrates all relevant data, including

emerging IoT sources.

Platform plus built-in use case approach: Flexible, open source

components and packaged use cases enables fast, cost-effective

deployments with maximum ROI.

APIs: Common APIs, platform services, and data models make

partner integration easy and fast with a lower cost of deployment.

Business Use Cases IUX City Command Center helps the city operators run day-to-day

operations and handle crisis or emergencies. It provides a

geospatial view of the event/incident, the impacted infrastructure

or area around the event/incident and initiate appropriate standard

operating procedures (SOPs) to address the incident.

pre-packaged open source Hadoop distribution with enhanced security management. Job schedulers fast track the

data movement from multiple data sources into Hadoop and automate the data ingestion jobs for periodic and ad-

access to data to perform data analysis. A drag & drop data pipeline canvas accelerates data preparation and
