global circumstances, Monash University remains committed

to offering students flexibility and choice.

We know that some students are worried about losing time

due to Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions. In response,

we’ve launched a new November intake so that students can

commence their degrees earlier and transition directly to

Semester 2 in March 2021.

This means that you can fast-forward your degree and be a semester ahead when the 2021 academic year commences.

HOW DOES THE NOVEMBER INTAKE WORK?At Monash, Semester 1 for students commences in March

each year.

By choosing the new November intake, students can now

commence Semester 1 in November 2020.

This intense semester will run from November 2020 to

February 2021. It’s designed to accelerate Semester 1 study

so that students can commence Semester 2 in March 2021.

ACCELERATE YOUR STUDIES WITHOUR NEW NOVEMBER INTAKE

HOW WILL I STUDY?This accelerated semester will be delivered online. You will have access to Monash University’s online learning ecosystem which includes a range of tools developed to ensure you are continuously supported as you learn.

This includes 1:1 study coaching support, wellbeing tools and access to student-only social networks. You’ll join a community of like-minded students determined to use this unique time to progress their degree while awaiting their return to campus.

Once you have completed Semester 1 online you will be able to transition to campus in March 2021 for face-to-face blended learning for Semester 2. Transition back to campus is dependent on the easing of travel restrictions both in Australia and overseas.

We have transitioned our face-to-face learning across all units and have worked with our students and academics to ensure that the quality of our learning and teaching is maintained.

We know that online and on-campus learning are different. However, the outcome from learning at Monash, and of the award you will graduate with is the same for both online education and on-campus learning.

The testamur and your academic transcript will be the same . The knowledge and skills acquired, and the recognition of your award by your future employer will be the same.

Employers are looking for skills like independent learning, self starting, and the ability to adapt to and work with the unknown - this situation has proven these skills will be even more valued into the future.

By choosing the November intake, you’ll be choosing to experience both modes of learning. Your qualification will still come from a top 100* research-intensive university and member of the prestigious Group of Eight in Australia.

This is a new entry point to Monash University. Once you transition to the March 2021 Semester, your course journey will be aligned with the Australian academic calendar. This means that you will continue your course at pace with Australian students across the 2 main semesters per year.

AM I ELIGIBLE?Undergraduate Studies

If you have recently completed your final year of schooling - and meet Monash admissions requirements - you can now start your studies in a select range of courses in November and transition to campus when you are able.

If you have recently completed an eligible pathway program, such as a Monash College Diploma or the Monash University Foundation Year you can now start your studies in a select range of courses in November and transition to campus when you are able.

Graduate studies

If you are eligible for admission to Monash you can now start your studies online in a select range of courses in November and transition to campus when you are able.

Enabling English Language Studies

If you need additional English study prior to main course commencement in November, Monash can offer you packaged English programs in 10 Weeks or 15 Weeks. Both programs start on 20 July.

HOW TO APPLYThe process to apply for the November intake is the same for all other Monash intakes - there are no changes.

If you are a new student applying for the November intake you can lodge your intake application through My.App or through Partner Portal using a Monash approved agent.

If you have already applied to Monash and are waiting for an offer OR have already received an offer you can let us know your preference for the November intake by sending us a statement indicating that you wish to commence in November. Please send this to MU.Documents@monash.edu (a short email is sufficient).
