Academy District 20 Summer Band Program 2016
Who can participate:
♫ Students entering Middle School (incoming 6th graders)

♫ High School Students
Sessions / Locations (students may attend more than one location):
♫ June MS/HS Summer Band @ Timberview Middle School - June 6-17, 2016
♫ July MS/HS Summer Band @ Mountain Ridge Middle School - July 18-29, 2016
Please come to the first class with your instrument and all equipment (reeds, oil, swab, etc.).
Books and music will be provided for you on the first day.
Please note: ALL beginning students MUST attend the first week of their session.

TUITION IS NON-REFUNDABLE unless the class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
Classes are open to students from all districts (additional fee applies to out of district students). Out-of-district students must complete the student registration process through D20 Central Registry (for summer-only enrollment) PRIOR to registering for summer school. A District 20 student ID number is required. This portion may be completed prior to April 25, 2016.
Classifications (if you are uncertain about your classification, please contact your band director):
Beginners (Both Locations): If you are a beginner and have not selected an instrument, attend the first day of the session and an instructor will assist you in that decision. If you are entering the 6th grade, your band instrument should be selected with the help of your middle school band director:

Continuing Beginners (MRMS): Beginners who complete a summer session of beginning band at TMS and/or students who have participated in band at their elementary school may sign up for this course.
Intermediate (TMS/MRMS): Any student who has played for at least one year.
Advanced (TMS/MRMS): Any student who has played for at least two years.
Jazz Ensemble (MRMS): This ensemble will consist of saxes, trumpets, trombones, piano, drums, bass guitar, and guitar.
Students with no prior experience in jazz are welcome. Must be in grade 7th or higher.
Jazz Ensembles (TMS): These ensembles will consist of saxes, trumpets, trombones, piano, drums, bass guitar, and guitar.
Players with one or more years of band experience may participate in these Summer Jazz Ensembles.
