In the recent times Cricket is one the most popular games across countries like England, Australia, New Zealand and most of Asian countries including India. Football and Base Ball are predominant in most of part of the European Countries and United States, apart from these games the other filed and track events such as Running, Jumping, Discuss Throw, Pole Vault are also popular and at the same time associated with greave injuries, on the other hand Boxing, Wrestling pose threat to the life. Though sports medicine has emerged to address the damages caused during sports, there are many incidences of incurable state. Under these circumstances, most of them stay away from games.

Since, games are essential part of one’s

life and with a view to involve everyone in games; Krida Yoga molded on the foundation of yoga needs to be taken forward. The advantage of the Krida Yoga is that it can be practiced by one and all irrespective of age and gender and can be played throughout the year as it comprises of both Indoor and Outdoor games and most of the games needs physical and mental attention, though it involves physical activities but doesn’t cause any damage posing threat for the whole life. Other important aspect of the Krida Yoga is that it is cost effective and can be practiced irrespective of the size of the participant. The most important aspect of the Krida Yoga is it stimulates both mind and body as most of the outdoor games enhance physical activity.

As the Krida Yoga is conclude with prayer, it brings every one closer irrespective of cast / creed / religion.

äüsUÇm! (Brahmasütram)

n Swantae=ip prSyaeÉyil¼< svRÇ ih (äüsUÇm!-3-2-11)Na sthänato'pi parasyobhayaliìgaà sarvatra hi (Brahmasütram-3-2-11)

Meaning: Not on account of (difference of) place also two-fold characteristics can belong to the Highest;for everywhere (scripture teaches It to be without any difference).

Sutrakara Vyasa Maharshi says,

Aêpved ih tTàxanTvat! (äüsUÇm!-3-2-14)Arüpaveda hi tatpradhänatvät (Brahmasütram-3-2-14)

Meaning: Verily Brahman is only formless on account of that being the main purport (of all texts about Brahman).

This particular Adhikarana (domain) is for revision of Atma Vastu (entity), individual soul in other words universal soul which is called ‘Tvam Padaartha’ in Upanishads. Jiva (individual) is nothing but Brahma Vastu (ultimate reality) has two forms in Upanishads; Savikalpa (with attributes) and Nirvikalpa (without attributes).

Brahma with the features and manifested qualities - Sarva Karma, Sarva Kama, Sarva Gandha, Sarva Rasa - are synonyms for the same object, indirectly indicating the features such as almighty, all-inclusive, omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence etc. On the other hand, Brahma Vastu is reported to be neither small nor big, neither gross nor subtle, neither short nor long.

Brahma Vastu is also said to be all-controlling in some context; in others it is said there are no two things at all. So, the statements by Upanishads if projected in different tones, have to be examined well. Therefore, regarding an object which is described having self-contradicting nature, naturally a doubt arises whether the object is with qualities or without.

Is a being referred to as ‘theory of everything’ beyond everything’? Hence, the questions, whether it has attributes or is it beyond attributes? ikimd< sàpÂ< in:àpÂm! ? sivkLp< inivRkLpm!? sakar< inrakarm! ? - are the popular expressions in Shastras. What is it? How is it?

This is Siddhanta Sutra (affirmative, assertive) of this Adhikarana as an answer to all the Purva Pakshas (opponent) and queries. Brahma cannot have all these worldly forms, norms, attributions, adjectives, qualifying factor, for then, Brahma becomes worldly. Addition of qualifying factors becomes ‘theory of something’, not the ‘theory of everything’. This is the reason that Badarayana clearly says, Brahma is Ashabda (not the object of

sound), Asparsham (not an object of touch), Arupam (not an object of vision), Avyayam (without decay) etc, negation of all qualities and properties, as if it is a nihilistic idea. All the above descriptions are presented just to discard all the superimposed worldly qualifications.

The very next Sutra says, as the solar rays released from the sun get arrested and limited

MemberSri Sri Ravi Shankar jiSri Sri Ravi Shankar is a globally revered spiritual and humanitarian leader. He has spearheaded an unprecedented worldwide movement for a stress-free, violence-free society. Through a myriad of programs and teachings, a network of organizations including the Art of Living and the International Association for Human Values, and a rapidly growing presence across 155 countries, Gurudev has reached an estimated 370 million people. Gurudev has developed unique, impactful programs that empower, equip and transform individuals to tackle challenges at global, national, community and individual levels.

MemberSadhguru Jaggi Vasudev jiSadhguru is a man whose passion spills into everything he encounters. A fearless rebel from the start, his childhood was punctuated with solitary forays into the jungle for days at a stretch, snake-catching and class cutting. In youth, his blunt clarity into life made him an unofficial counsellor to his problem-ridden college mates. His love of adventure led him on motorcycle expeditions, and his early business endeavours into poultry farming and construction were met with success. Just when you’ve summed him up as a cool maverick, he surprises you with a gentle side that can shed tears of compassion and extract laughter from

hardened faces. Equally at home with bright-eyed village children, ash-smeared yogis and top-notch executives, Sadhguru defies any narrow description. With a keen mind, balanced by a heart that knows no boundary, he infects his zest for life into all who seek to live their lives to the fullest.

MemberSwami Chidananda SaraswatiH.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji’s motto in life is, “In the Service of God and humanity.” and austerities high in the Himalayas.

MemberSri O P Tiwari jiSri Om Prakash Tiwari was born in North India in 1933. As the direct student and disciple of the late Swami Kuvalayananda and founder of Kaivalyadhama Institute in Lonavala, India, he is one of the few remaining Hatha Yoga Masters in the world. Swami Kuvalayananda gave him the responsibility of managing the Nature Cure Hospital at Kavailyadhama, and later in 1966, he was entrusted with the entire institute, serving as Secretary General, overseeing areas of education and administration. Although he wants no worldly recognition, he is one of only a few authentic and true Pranayama Masters alive today.

MemberSwami Bharat BhusanAn eye capturing and heart touching handsome young boy of 18 years with fair complexion, strong muscular built, always cheerful & glowing face and deep bright eyes, abundant energy, self-confidence, leadership skill, wonderful art of oratory with offers of film industry, class one jobs in police, army and in private sector and other worldly attractions all around but… clear vision.

This young boy was touched with the paining heart, self-confidence, courage to accept and stand for truth, revolutionary life, selfless service and truth pricked words of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Swami Vivekanand, Kabir

and Nanak Dev. Their lives made him to decide to stay above and make the best use of his life by leaving all such attractions aside and serve the humanity as a servant of Divine.

At so early an age he became a popular teacher among young generation always surrounded by youth. Youth felt proud to come in his association and found a beam of light in the clouds of confusions and darkness. The name of this young Bharat Bhushan became synonym of ‘Guru ji’ as youth from all classes and faiths were at his home or around him where ever he went for solution of their problems, quarries and curiosity.

It was his life style that attracted the youth from being spoiled and understands the meaning of true health, strength, beauty, religion, social service, patriotism and importance of coexistence and spiritualism. His home became a popular visiting centre for Hindus, Muslims, Christians and all other faiths. May it be Diwali, Eid, Xmas day, Independence Day, Republic Day or the incarnation days of Nanak Dev, Kabir, Raidas or Balmiki or sacrifice days of our great martyrs, his home was always crowded with people of different faiths who were there to celebrate these occasions with social, patriotic, spiritual color. His home became the only place where people enjoyed the literary & cultural activities, social and national discussions along with spiritual living with liberty to continue their religious faiths, where youth of different faiths did never hesitate in celebrating holy Yajan, Holi, Eid, Diwali, and Xmas day all together.

Life of Gurudev Bharat Bhushan ji, is a living example of the high tradition of great souls traveling this planet whenever humanity is in great need of such revolutionary seers to spark and flash light of true knowledge to prevailing darkness of ignorance and sorrows in society.

Guruji is the symbol of perfection in all spheres of life whether it be academic education, sports, co-curricular activities, moral values, literature, speech, poetry, music, relationships, journalism, social work, spirituality, Ayurveda and bodybuilding as he is the only vegetarian Mr. India as well.

But the aim of his life was pretty clear from the very beginning. He is a mentor who has changed the lives of many others. He is just like Paras that converts everything in gold which comes in contact with him.

The only ‘Padma Shri’ recipient in the field of Yoga in 1991 by the then President of India Shri R. Venkatraman and the explorer of the Indian spiritual science of Yoga in more than 60 countries Yoga Guru Padma Shri Bharat Bhushan behaves just like an ordinary man when he caresses his cow, when he waters the plants of his ashram and when he shares his wonderful moments of life with his students and is always surrounded by youth around him.

Secretary General (GB) Ex-officio Member-GCMs. Kamlesh BarwalMs. Kamlesh Barwal is highly recognised and noted Yoga trainer associated with the Art of Living Foundation since the past 20 years. to effectively manage mind and emotions, eliminate stress, and promote harmony, amongst people from all walks of life, cultures, and religions, through very simple yet profound yogic techniques and Sudarshan Kriya.

Governing Council

Although yoga has its origins in ancient India, its methods and purposes are universal, relying not on cultural background, faith or deity, but simply on the individual. Yoga has become important in the lives of many contemporary Westerners, sometimes as a way of improving health and fitness of the body, but also as a means of personal and spiritual development.

Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted - in body, mind, and heart - and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow - or we begin to flow more in our lives.

by a container or facilitator to convert and utilise the solar energy, in a similar fashion, Brahma expresses itself in different manifestation through its media. It’s wrong to conclude that Brahma to be limited. For, these manifestations are all shadow-play. Seemingly different things having no form of their own, could be limited by any media. In a similar manner Brahma expresses itself through manifestations.

To discuss further, nascent Avidya, Maya Shakti, makes Brahma having all worldly attributes. In reality Brahma has no attributes of its own which has to be firmly understood. Such examples are many in number in the form of questions and answers between Rishis in Upanishads. Heap of salt, very much round in shape, neither in existential nor non-existential, neither positive nor negative – such descriptions for Brahma are

very common in the Shastras. In an instance, Vashkali requests to teach Brahma when Bahva (a facilitator) replies to all the questions only in silence (Avachana - Mauna Vyakhya). In case of Brahma, it is evident that words cannot convey the lesson. Narayana taught Narada “The cause of the universe, of your seeing Me endowed with the qualities of all beings is the Maya thrown out by Me; do not cognise Me as being such in reality.” The simile of water, air, sun etc. are only to support the same idea.

Therefore, Theory of everything – Brahma is beyond the worldly attributions. So, something cannot define everything. Limited forms of expressions may not portray the comprehensive nature of the Reality – Brahma. Thus, concludes Ubhayalingadhikarana.

Arogyadhama Success StoriesSection A - An Improved Case of Neurology

Can yoga mitigate the scourge of dreadful cancer? Astonishingly, the answer is a resounding ‘yes’, judging by the response to treatment given to a cancer patient at Arogyadhama. Sceptical professionals in the established allopathic system may ridicule this but the very patient, who got tremendous relief after taking the treatment, will testify to the efficacy of the yoga system of treatment.

Mr. Manohar (name changed), a 42-year-old professor, came to our Arogyadhama with complaints of recurrent lower back pain since 2010. The pain kept increasing despite taking painkillers. In November 2012, he was diagnosed with cancer. The CT guided biopsy of the spine at NIMHANS showed a lesion with secondary metastatic carcinoma. Despite all investigations the primary source of cancer could not be traced and he was administered six cycles of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy, but his PET scan actually showed an increase in the metastasis to 25% after the last cycle.

By now the patient had lost weight, appetite became poor, stricken by severe constipation, developed hyperpigmentation of skin, had hair fall all over, felt terribly weak and could not walk without support. It was at this stage he came to our Arogyadhama and put on pranayama practice 3 to 4 times a day and Om meditation. He was given a cleansing diet with fruit juices, wheat grass juice and daily enema. He gradually

gained weight and started doing gentle asanas along with cyclic meditation (CM) and mind sound resonance technique (MSRT) regularly. He also started doing pranic energisation technique (PET) daily. Ayurvedic herbal preparations and antioxidants were added to his routine.

Improved Parameters:

With this treatment Mr Manohar was doing well even after 12 months of the declaration that he would survive 3 to 4 months only. Muscle strength in his legs had improved and he could walk a few steps daily. His hair grew again, skin texture became normal, there was no pain in leg and spine and his bowel functions were normal. His haemoglobin levels improved from 7 to 12 gm% and he gained around 8 to10 kg in weight. However, he continued to intermittently have mild pain in spine. His MRI scan also showed no further progression of lesions.

Section E - An Improved Case of Back Pain

A radiating low back pain since several years, varicose veins since 6 to 7 months, overweight since the past few months and left knee pain for six years. All these had caused the 37-year-old Sarika (name changed) considerable distress and a lot of stress.

The participant came to Prashanti, Arogyadhama, in Sept 2015. Her low back pain radiated to the right leg. The pain, which was a gradual onset, had aggravated recently. She developed varicose veins during her third pregnancy. Varicose veins are twisted, enlarged veins near the surface of the skin. They are most common in the legs and ankles. They usually aren't serious. These veins contain one-way valves to ensure that the blood flows towards the heart. Failure of these valves allows blood to flow backwards and causes varicose veins to develop. In the case of Sarika, these became painful since 2 to 3 years and were associated with swelling on prolonged standing. In addition, she has been overweight since 5 to 6 months and this aggravated her left knee pain.

During her two-week stay at Arogyadhama, she underwent various yoga practices based on Integrated Approach to Yoga Therapy which comprised a special yoga module designed specifically to relax, strengthen and make the person more flexible at the body and mind level to achieve total wellbeing. Also, Pranayama, Cyclic Meditation, Mind Sound Resonance Technique and relaxation techniques were included in the schedule. Lectures on lifestyle and dietary habits were organised to ensure better lifestyle for overall health. She specifically learnt certain techniques designed to

immediately alleviate her back and neck pain and, over a period of time, altogether rid her of these pains. She was trained in some breathing practices such as sukshmavyayama and certain Yogāsanas which were specifically designed to facilitate relaxation.

Along with this, she underwent Ayurveda, naturopathy, and physiotherapy treatment. Counselling sessions were arranged to calm her disturbed emotions and control her stress levels. There were biweekly cleansing procedures called kriyas to cleanse her system completely.

Her schedule used to start at 5:30 am with pranayama and meditation followed by various activities that continued till 7:30 pm. These activities included special techniques (asanas, loosening exercises and relaxation techniques) designed to reduce pain. In order to enhance her relaxation and calmness special meditation techniques were administered (cyclic meditation, trataka and mind sound resonance technique). Koshas that proved to be of considerable help to her were Annamaya Kosha, Pranamaya Kosha and Manomaya Kosha. Her parameters were monitored on a daily basis to keep a record of her progress.

Condition on Discharge: The Participant is relaxed and better after her stay in Arogyadhama. There has been a consistent improvement in all her vital and clinical parameters. Improvement in Brahmari time and straight leg raising have been positively recorded. Details of assessments before and after yoga therapy are as under

Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they’re meant to be.

Naturopathy dietary treatment is the most important measure in natural medicine and has its greatest effect when disorders affect gastrointestinal tract, in particular irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). On the basis of a comprehensive dietary anamnesis, it is often possible to identify foodstuffs and eating behaviour capable of aggravating the patient's symptoms. The basic principle of naturopathy treatment is that the gastrointestinal tract should first undergo a temporary period of rest before being gradually

re-accustomed to a biologically high-quality diet. An approach includes various forms of fasting therapy, in particular in the case of severe conditions, which can usefully be

supported by additional relaxation techniques, psychotherapy, hydrotherapy, yoga and special manual techniques.

We present the case of a 44-year-old woman with a diagnosis of IBS since 6 month, who complained of gastrointestinal symptoms since 2 year and severe episodes of spasmodic stomach aches in the last year self-ranked at 10, on a 0-10 scale; 5-7 episodes a month, which last for 5 days, accompanied by severe flatulence and bloating. In addition, she has multiple diarrheic bowel movements in the morning (3-4 times and 6-8 times in a day). Using naturopathy, yoga and diet resulted in significant improvement in symptoms and quality of life, as well as gradual reduction of drugs, approved by her physician. Stomach ache self-ranked now at 0, on a 0-10 scale; and flatulence and bloating self-ranked as no more symptoms. Bowel movement frequency came to normal and she was able to control better without fear and stress since she no longer has diarrheic and/or multiple bowel movements. This case report emphasizes the importance of

naturopathy treatment in IBS and its benefit in improving patients' quality of life.

Patient presenting following problems Digestion improper; visiting to toilet 2-4 times in morning, cannot control motions

Mental: irrational fear, stress during travel; panic due to sudden urge to visit toilet.

The following treatment was proposedThere were recommendations for reduction in fibres in diet, reduction in fruit and water intake. The patient was asked to reduce excess gym exercises and stop running 20/30 km in the morning,

FastingResults noted: The patient followed the suggested changes; fasting gave her good sleep and felt well rested; stress completely reduced. No urge to visit toilet any more. “I felt more confident, relaxed and able to work better”.

Things that helped Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): Double osmosis water has no minerals; hence use of earthen pot water (Matkka). Changing diet to low fibre, yogic exercise for stomach and abdomen definitely helped.

All systems started restoring their efficiency. Mental clarity is amazing after fasting; it definitely helps in IBS and helps us to avoid stress that triggers IBS both at physical and mental level.

Allopathic treatment for IBS is not-existent but they give a patient more stress. Overall naturopathy treatment for IBS helped the patient in many ways.

The world has suddenly come to the profound realization that we are destroying nature; the idea that we should be custodians of nature is permeating sciences and even Western philosophy. We are not the masters of nature who can ruthlessly destroy nature in the name of progress. Some Western intellectuals and philosophers have started to question the notion that earth has unlimited resources, Dr. Henryk Skolimowski from Poland being a prominent one. He was concerned regarding the great paradox of the Western world: in the process of developing and acquiring technology at an ever-increasing pace, we downgrade and marginalize culture. Culture, however, is not an outmoded, ancient idea about society and relationship; it gives meaning and sustenance to life. The aim of life is not in earning and consuming objects presented around us; it is to experience the Self and acknowledge the same reality in all beings and even in inanimate around us. Dr. Skolimowski introduced the term eco-philosophy so that philosophy is not a dry, unconnected intellectual exercise; rather it focuses on societal and ecological problems.

It is important to realize that the subtle is the cause and we see the gross alone in the outcome. It is said by Swami Vivekananda that subtle is the cause and the effect is in the gross; mind is the maker, body is affected by the vagaries of the mind if we are not careful! Thus, the mind of people

should be studied and steadied, if we want larger societal changes in behaviour and interactions. Asking people to be aware of environmental problems is just the start; how do we achieve the feeling of oneness with nature? Are we responsible for the huge dust storm that killed over 120 people in the Northern States of India in early May this year? Are we accountable for the melting of ice in remote Arctic and Antarctic regions? If the sea levels rise due to such calamities and wipe out many countries and sea resorts in the World (including perhaps the whole of Bangladesh, our own neighbour), should we be held responsible? How do we correct such natural disasters? Or can we?

Scientists have been working on building models to focus which cities around the world will be affected first if a 3C (3 degrees Celsius) increase is reached by year 2100. “Scientists at the non-profit organisation Climate Central estimate that 275 million people worldwide live in areas that will eventually be flooded at 3C of global warming”. This is a world-wide disaster that will have irreparable repercussions to the

developing world. Most coastal cities in India and in many countries – including China, USA and Europe – will be under salt water. We need not keep discussing regarding all models that are available to make this scenario of disaster a reality. We should immediately take steps to counter this increase in temperature.

Yoga and Eco-Psychology

As we all well know, the initial objective of Yoga is to set the mind in proper order. In this, the first two angas, yama and niyama gives us a profound attitude change that impacts not only us, but every single entity around us including nature. In the opening verse of Bhumi Suktam, it is said that many actions of humans sustain this earth. They are: (adhering to) profound truth, unchanging honesty, piety, dedication, capability arising from honesty and yagña or gratifying Gods (and nature that is so bountiful to us) through proper rituals. Thus, it is seen that the works of humans is not towards self-aggrandizement; it is for maintaining wholeness of the environment and of the earth itself.

The question arises as to how to inculcate this awe and love for nature in our students and youngsters? Just telling them that nature should be protected is not enough. A life style that enhances our interaction and participation with nature is important. Children should tend to plants and fruit trees and realize their usefulness and life-giving forces that abound in them. Where do we get oxygen if not from trees? In Yoga, yama and niyam constitute important first steps in interaction within oneself and with the outer world. As my friend Dr. Elmer Green used to say, skin is an artificial barrier that seems to separate us from the environment. However, there is a continuity of the body extending into the environment. When yama and niyama are practiced, this artificial barrier seems to fall away and we become one with all that is around us. Hence, let us note more closely what these yama and niyamas are in Ref 3.

The first and foremost requirement to avoid environmental degradation is in maintaining satya or truth. Both Bhumi Suktam and Yoga Sutras put satya as the foremost requirement in personal and inter-personal relations. Sat is to be; one is in one’s own state of atman. If one acts from this fundamental level, there is no difference between one and the other; we see around us no difference in all the life forms. Even inanimate is infused with the same spiritual energy that we consider ourselves to be. If we cut a tree, it is equivalent to cutting one of our own limbs. If we feel at the level of profound identity of Self, then there is no question of nature being exploited or damaged. Such acts will never happen. That is the satya that we should hold fast to.

Thus, when ahimsa is practiced, we precipitate towards satya; when satya is adhered to, automatically ahima results. We have seen the Chinese iconology of a snake catching hold of its own tail. In other words, satya and ahimsa are simply the end points of one continuum. Satya

leads one towards ahimsa; if you start with ahimsa, it culminates in satya. This continuity is expressed in the ancient symbol of a snake holding its own tail.

If you want to think satya and ahimsa as two separate entities, then the resultant is two snakes inter-twined. This again is an ancient symbol as presented in reference [4]. Now of course, the symbol is added on to the chakra system [See fig 3] and presented as a new and innovative aspect of wisdom! We see here an evolution of ideas to represent knowledge (snakes) ascending to highest level of self-realization.

Conclusion

Eco-psychology should integrate within itself ideas from ancient wisdom; applying principles of Yoga, one could balance nature and our own requirement for technical advancement. The latter need not result in environmental degradation. One is reminded of Gandhiji’s wise saying: “There is enough in this world for every one’s need, not for every one’s greed”.

Great Mother existed and was worshipped in various

ways. In Egypt she was represented as Isis nursing Horus, in Mesopotamia as Cybele, a seated figure, symbolising fertility and protection of the harvest and grain; while in Rome, as Tellus or Terra Mater, she was known as Mother Earth. In Greek Mythology, Gaia (Gaea) was known as the Mother Nature who provides the life force for all beings. She was the primal Earth Mother from whom all life came. As an archetype, Gaia represents balance and harmony on the Earth and wholeness in the universe. Gaia is a symbol of the Earth where everything is connected and the living force of nature is maintained through the ecosystem. She rules over all the kingdoms, including minerals, animals and humans, and she rules over the giving of Life.” Wikipedia.

3. The first anga, namely yama consists of ahimsa, truth, non-stealing, brahmacarya and lack of avariciousness [Pathanjali, Yoga Sutras 2:30]. It is said that the above five restraints become a great vow when practised by all aspirants of Yoga irrespective of class (in society), duty that one performs, place and time [2:31]. The second anga is niyama or observances. These five are: cleanliness, contentment, austerity of body and mind, study of scriptures and devotion to God [2:32].

It is often mistakenly used as a symbol of medicine instead of the Rod of Asclepius, especially in the United States. The two-snake caduceus design has ancient and consistent associations with trade, eloquence, negotiation, alchemy and wisdom”. Wikipedia.

Earth’s Gravitational Pull

All earthly beings are bound by the law of gravitation. Any object within the earth's orbit is drawn to the ground. To be away from the earth, up above in the skies, more energy is required. While walking, the foot has to be taken up with more energy and the other foot while being kept down requires little energy. Earth has extraordinary energy to pull objects towards it. To extricate oneself from the pulling energy of the earth, one has to draw more energy from the body. Human beings are no exception to this law.

All individuals are made up of body, mind and intellect. All our activities are body centered. All our feelings are egocentric. All our thoughts are self-centered. To be bound to the earth, there is no special energy required. The energy of the earth is sufficient. Similarly, to perform any activity for the wellbeing of the body, no extraordinary efforts are needed. We eat, drink, sleep, play and so on for the wellbeing of the body. It is natural. But to perform these activities for the welfare of others, special efforts are needed. Those efforts put in for the wellbeing of others are called Yajna. The action thus performed is Karma Yoga. The major difference is in the attitude.

The body centered activities are binding and the welfare activities are liberating. We do feel the pains and pleasures. We have preferences and prejudices; we have our likes and dislikes. These are but natural. Every mind is essentially egocentric as the beings are earthbound and the activities are body-centered. Very rarely, we come across people who are capable of feeling the pains and pleasures of others. When there is

suffering, we feel sorry for ourselves. But when we find others suffer, do we have the same intensity of pain and sympathy? To feel the pain of others and feel the sympathy for others, we require more psychic energy, born out of love for them. To love ourselves, is natural. But to love others, with the same intensity, it is something more. And that feeling with in tensest sympathy is called empathy born out of love for all. And that is real Prema Yoga or Bhakti Yoga.

Our thoughts are normally self-centered. In every enterprise, in every planning and in every entrepreneurship, we think of benefit or profit to ourselves. This is the calculative nature of a profiteering person. In all our arguments as well, we are very often biased to ourselves. We look for the success, profit, benefit and gain for ourselves. Very rarely, we think of success for others, benefit for others. It is natural to be calculative, making profit in every enterprise. Our thoughts are always self-centered. To be streamlining the thoughts for the cosmic wellbeing, we require righteous logic, impartial analysis and unselfish upward march. This reveals the cosmic truth, which is nothing but the universal oneness. To realize this truth, one has to travel from the small self to the large Self and this growth or expansion or awareness is Jnana Yoga.

Law of gravitation, body-centeredness, egocentric nature and selfishness are common. To come out of them, we require divine energy and yogic unfoldment. One has to transcend Nature and go beyond all earthly entanglements to be established in yogic consciousness, which is Bliss.
