Academic Excellence Scholarship PURPOSE: This scholarship is to award eligible high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence in the classroom as well as involvement in school activities. The scholarship is to provide financial support to high school seniors who plan to pursue a 4-year degree at an accredited college, university or post-secondary institution. WHO IS ELIGIBLE: 1. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who have all basic credits for entering a college, university or a post-secondary institution and the intention to pursue a 4-year degree. 2. Applicants must have a current cumulative grade point average of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale and a combined ACT score of at least 28. 3. Accepted applicants must attend an accredited college, university or post-secondary institution. 4. Applicants must be the child, grandchild or legal ward of a South Central Power member receiving service for the duration of the 2020-2021 academic year. 5. Applicants who receive “full-ride” scholarships (i.e., scholarships that cover the cost of tuition, room, board and books) to the schools of their choice are not eligible for scholarships from South Central Power Co. Foundation. 6. Applicant may apply for only ONE Operation Round Up scholarship. 7. Students may not be immediate family members of a South Central Power Company Foundation Board member. Immediate family members include son, daughter or grandchildren. GUIDELINES: 1. Applicants must complete the official application form. 2. All applications must be typed or clearly hand written in blue or black ink to be accepted. Do not use pencil. 3. A complete high school grade transcript must accompany the application. 4. Application information must be confined to the official application form with NO ATTACHMENTS, other than the grade transcript. 5. Applicants may submit documents by 11:59 PM on Feb. 1, 2021, on the South Central Power website at www.southcentralpower.com/south-central-power-company-foundation/scholarships/ or by mail (postmarked by Jan. 29, 2021) to South Central Power Company, Attn: Community Development Dept., 2780 Coonpath Rd NE, Lancaster, OH 43130.
