ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE EVENTS

Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education & Research keeping to its vision, mission

and objectives has been constantly engaged to bring in quality improvements in all its

functional aspects. The meetings of the five Boards of Studies were held in the month of

May-2010. The main focuses of these meetings were to review the regulations and

curricula of MBBS Phase-I, II and III as well as postgraduate degree and diploma

courses. The Academy has attempted to bring in provision for imparting innovation in

teaching, learning and evaluation activities. In addition, the Boards of Studies have

proposed for inclusion of emerging areas of knowledge as additional topics in each

subject of study.

SOCIALLY COMMITTED ACTIVITIES

Extension Community outreach activities are held by the Academy with objectives of

providing health care to needy. It also conduct programmes to create awareness among

the the general public on various issues such as control of infectious disease,

disseminating the goals of national health schemes. The community outreach health care

programme extensively covers the districts of Kolar and Chickballapur which including

remote villages and slums. The Community Medicine department is proactive in

providing orientation programme for health care professionals in prevention, control and

management of infectious disease.

The Academy is proactive in encouraging and providing facilities for extracurricular and

co-curricular activities. It has developed good infrastructure for sports and cultural
