Acacia Court apartmentsA new approach to retirement living
The Acacia Court apartments are an exclusive development of 11 modern apartments offering independent living, with the security of knowing that care and support is available in your own home if you should need it – now or in the future.
The apartments combine the privacy and comfort of having your own home, with all the convenience of a hotel. There are housekeeping staff to help you keep on top of things. The home’s chef will happily take orders for meals when you don’t want to cook; or provide tea and cakes when you have visitors, or for a special occasion (there will be a charge for this, and advance notice is necessary). Arrangements can be made for our specialist care team to meet any additional needs you may have.
Our apartments are easily accessible with a private entrance. They are spacious, one and two bedroom apartments, fully fitted with en-suite shower rooms and well-equipped kitchenettes. Each apartment is carpeted and featuring large double-glazed windows which create a beautifully light and airy atmosphere. The kitchenette is fitted with high quality Neff appliances.
You can feel safe and secure in our apartments, with 24-hour on-call emergency alarm system, sprinkler systems and smoke detectors. The apartments share a lovely private garden, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Fantastic facilitiesYou can do as much or as little as you would like at the Acacia Court apartments. While each apartment has a kitchenette and a lounge, there may be times when you want to socialise with your neighbours, or want a larger area to entertain your guests. The apartments share an attractive garden lounge. There is also a buggy store to keep mobility scooters secure.
You have access to use the facilities enjoyed by the residents of Greenhill House care home, including the on-site hairdressing salon, coffee lounge and shop, and you are welcome to get involved with the daily activities programme.
Our convenient location means that the shops, cafés and other amenities of Cheddar’s village centre are within easy reach. We are on a bus route, with a bus stop just outside, with regular buses running to and from Wells and Weston-super-Mare. The local Riverside pub is situated nearby.

Acacia Court apartments are part of the Greenhill development, located in the friendly village of Cheddar.
Cheddar is a large village in Somerset, on the edge of the Mendip Hills. Lending its name to the famous Cheddar cheese which is still made today, the village is also well-known for its natural feature, Cheddar Gorge, the largest gorge in the UK.
An important site in Roman and Saxon times, Cheddar has a long history. The name Cheddar is believed to originate from the Old English word ‘ceodor’, meaning deep
dark cavity or pouch. Cheddar was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 AD as Ceder, meaning ‘Shear Water’ and in 1130 AD, Cheddar Gorge was recognised as one of the ‘Four wonders of England’.
The local school, Kings of Wessex Academy, is built on the site of an Anglo-Saxon palace, and the 14th century ruins of the chapel of St Columbanus can still be seen.
Cheddar is now a major tourist destination, with lots of attractions to see. The maps on the opposite page show a few of them in location to Acacia Court apartments.
