Our 1 Year To Go Spirit welcomes you to our festivities the moment
you step through the main entrance.
On Sunday, 20 October 2019. Doors open at 5pm when festivities
begin, culminating in a live countdown moment at exactly 20:20hrs,
to mark exactly ‘1 Year To Go’ before Expo 2020. The event ends at
10pm.

THE LIVE BROADCAST
The Main Stage is the energetic heartbeat of the 1 Year To Go
event, inspiring everyone with the spirit of Expo. Enjoy a
selection of the UAE’s finest grassroots music and performing arts
talent throughout the day. As the sun goes down, get ready to get
excited to celebrate with us, as we officially countdown to ‘1 Year
To Go’ to Expo 2020 Dubai – The World’s Greatest Show. Join us at
7.25pm to witness the first live broadcast of its kind across the
country, culminating in a spectacular ‘20:20’ (8.20pm) moment as we
connect to the One Year To Go event in Dubai, and enjoy the music,
fireworks and A-list celebrity performances from global
superstars.

EXPO 2020 AMBASSADOR
One of the Arab world’s foremost artists, Hussain Al Jassmi’s
impressive catalogue of work includes songs such as ‘Fakadtak’ and
‘Boshret Kheir’. As ambassador for Expo 2020, his collaboration
will drive excitement and national pride around the celebratory
milestone of One Year To Go.
SHRADDHA KAPOOR BOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR
Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor earned a nomination for the 2010
Filmfare Best Female Debut for her screen debut in Teen Patti. She
rose to prominence for her portrayal as Arohi Keshav Shirke in the
2013 romantic musical Aashiqui 2, in which she gained positive
acclaims and numerous nominations including the Filmfare Award for
Best Actress. She is the daughter of veteran Indian actor, Shakti
Kapoor and Bollywood singer and actress Shivangi Kapoor.
JORDANIAN
KaBoo’s presence is growing and undeniable. Since being named
Pioneer’s Middle East Champion DJ in 2013, he has gone from
strength to strength, cementing his position in the industry. DJ
KaBoo is known for sweeping the decks with his slick selection of
music and a brilliant sense of connection with his audience.
SANDRA SAHI SINGER BELGIAN
Sandra Sahi is a Singer-songwriter who rose to fame releasing song
covers on her YouTube channel, which has 700,000 subscribers.
Outside of her song covers, she is also known for posting beauty
videos and vlogs.
AMERICAN
Stephon LaMar is a singer, songwriter, musician, actor and show
host. He cut his teeth in the New York music scene, in various
Rock, R’n’b, Indie and hip-hop clubs and venues. This variety and
influence inspired his sound. Stephon was awarded the prestigious
artist of the year (2019) with Time Out and What’s On
magazines.
AUSTRALIAN
A UNICEF MENA Ambassador, Layla believes in making an impact both
on and off the stage. By incorporating pop, jazz, R&B and
Middle Eastern melodies with her distinctive voice, she delivers a
soulful experience like no other.
THE UAE PIONEERS MUSICIANS
PIANO, SAXOPHONE, CELLO EMIRATI
The UAE’s first Emirati trio of musicians which is lead by the
UAE’s first female Emirati composer, Eman Al Hashimi who is also
the pianist of the group. The trio consists of a pianist, cellist
and saxophonist who have opened for the likes of Andrea
Bocelli.
VICTOR SITALI ARTISTRY
ZAMBIAN
Victor Sitali is an artist and painter from Zambia. He has been
hearing impaired since the age of three, and found a way to express
his voice through painting. His motto today is: My voice is heard
by work of my hands. Victor performed at this years tolerance rally
in the capital.
ARTIST NIGERIAN
Chinedu is a 29 years old painter who moved from Nigeria to Dubai
in 2016. He is into both hyper- realistic painting and abstract
art. Being open to different genres, he mixes art styles together
to create new and unique works.
SOUTH AFRICAN
The Domino Dubai is an artist collective. Paul is the Creative
Director who specialises in everything from illustration to design,
3D, canvas work and murals.
SUQIA UAE WATER AID
Established in 2015, the UAE Water Aid Foundation, Suqia UAE, an
entity under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Global Initiatives foundation, is a non-profit organisation that
provides humanitarian aid around the world and helps communities
that suffer from water scarcity by providing them with potable
water. After all, clean and accessible water for all is an
essential part of the world we want to live in. Until today, we
have positively influenced the lives of over 9 million people in 34
countries.

MAWAHEB ART STUDIO
Mawaheb from Beautiful People is an art studio for the determined
ones from 16 years and above. The studio suitably located in the
culturally rich Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood previously known
as the Al Bastakiya, is a space where student artists can learn
artistic skills and develop their self confidence in a relaxed safe
environment.

EVENT FAQ WHEN IS THE EVENT TAKING PLACE?
On Sunday, 20 October 2019. Doors open at 5pm when festivities
begin, culminating in a spectacular countdown moment broadcast live
from Burj Park, Downtown Dubai at exactly 20:20hrs, to mark exactly
‘1 Year to Go’ before Expo 2020. The event ends at 10pm.
WHERE IS THE EVENT TAKING PLACE AND HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE
EXPECTED?
The 1 Year to Go event in Abu Dhabi is happening at the Louvre Abu
Dhabi, with around 2,500 visitors expected to attend.
WILL I NEED A TICKET?
No ticket required. The event is free and open to the public,
however we recommend visitors arrive at 5pm to ensure you have
plenty of time to enjoy all the event has to offer. If we reach
maximum capacity of the venue, we will not be able to grant you
immediate access.
WHAT IS HAPPENING AT EACH OF THE FESTIVALS?
Whichever festival you attend, you can expect live music,
performers, artists and plenty of fun for the whole family.
WHAT ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS RELATED TO FILMING AND
PHOTOGRAPHY?
Our terms and conditions of the event specify the below:
Unauthorized professional photography or filming equipment is
strictly prohibited. You agree that all images, videos and audio
recordings taken by you whilst at the Event and the Site shall be
used solely for personal and non-commercial purposes, unless the
prior written consent is obtained from Expo 2020 Dubai.
You understand that film and photographic cameras may be present at
the Event. By entering the Site and the Event and/or booking
Tickets, you agree and consent (either on your own behalf or on
behalf of your child) that worldwide perpetual use may be made in
any and all media , free of charge, of your voice, image and
likeness captured whilst present at or about the Event and the Site
for any purpose, including, without limitation, by means of live or
recorded video display, broadcast, transmission or other
dissemination or recording, photographs or any other current and/or
future
media technologies and for either commercial or non-commercial
purposes including, without limitation, in promotional and
marketing materials relating to Expo 2020 Dubai.
HOW CAN I GET TO THE VENUE?
BY CAR (VIA PARK & RIDE) Are you driving? We will operate a
Park and Ride for private vehicles from Cranleigh Abu Dhabi. Blue
badge parking is available at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
BY BUS Take public bus number 0094 to the Louvre Abu Dhabi. It runs
until 23:06.
BY TAXI Take a Careem, Uber or licensed taxi and they will take you
to the dedicated drop-off zone.
VENUE
IS THE EVENT SEATED? No – all festivals are standing room
only.
CAN I LEAVE THE EVENT AND RETURN? Yes, you can gain re-entry as
long as the event capacity isn’t exceeded. But once the festivities
have started, you won’t want to leave anyway!
DO I NEED TO BE A UAE RESIDENT TO ATTEND? No, all events are open
to the general public.
CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN? Yes, there’s plenty for your kids to enjoy
at our family-friendly events, including a dedicated kids’ craft
area.
CAN I BRING MY PET(S)? Sorry, guide dogs are the only animals
allowed at the event.
IF I COME WITH A BABY STROLLER, IS THERE A PLACE TO STORE IT? No –
we recommend leaving baby strollers at home as the event is taking
place on grass.
IS THERE ANY ENTERTAINMENT APART FROM LIVE MUSIC? Yes, there is an
area for adults and children, and plenty of fun and engaging
activities for all ages.
WILL THERE BE FIREWORKS? The 20:20 countdown moment will be
celebrated on site and the fireworks from Burj Park, Downtown Dubai
will be broadcast live in each venue.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINKS? Yes, you can. But we recommend
leaving enough space to sample the wide range of mouthwatering
cuisines that will be available at the event.
WILL ALCOHOL BE SERVED? This event is an alcohol-free zone.
WILL FOOD TRUCKS BE EQUIPPED WITH CREDIT CARD MACHINES? Yes.
Nevertheless, we always recommend that you bring cash with you to
make your payment faster for low value purchases. Please note that
there are no ATMs available onsite.
WILL WATER BE PROVIDED? Yes, absolutely. Free eco-friendly water
bottles and filtered tap water will be available.
Expo 2020 is fully committed to sustainability and we’re aiming to
deliver a first of its kind plastic-free event in the UAE. In
respect of this commitment, no plastic bottle will be available for
sale.
ACCESSIBILITY
IS THERE ACCESS FOR PEOPLE OF DETERMINATION? Absolutely. There will
be dedicated access and toilets within each venue for People of
Determination to enjoy the festivities.
IS THE VENUE WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE? Yes, but it’s worth bearing in
mind that the event area is covered in grass.
I’M A PERSON WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. IS THERE A NUMBER I CAN CALL TO

hosting seven special events across the UAE, each featuring live
performances from widely respected artists and performers.
