Elastic Impedance Inversion and Lamda Mu Rho Inversion Methods are used in this study for the identification and the mapping of reservoir sandstones and hydrocarbon fluid in the layer z.2260 which are at Talang Akar formation which has lithology sandstone interluded with shale.

The Process of Elastic Impedance Inversion at angle 28° is proved as the most sensitive in mapping lithology and fluids while LMR inversion method is used to correlate the results of hydrocarbon anomalies in Elastic Impedance Inversion method.

The result of AVO attributes show that layer z.2260 is included in the class IV of AVO anomaly, the sandstone reservoir in layer z.2260 is low impedance sand. Elastic Impedance inversion at angle 28° shows that the Elastic Impedance value of the reservoir sandstone ranged between 10000 – 12600 ((m/s)2*(gr/cc)) and shows that the sandstone reservoir in the area around the well DONAT-08 is well developed, but in the well DONAT-10 is dominated by shale. The result also shows that the main zone of hydrocarbon anomalies is divided into two areas, the first, is around the well DONAT-08 with the direction of its spread is Southwest – Northwest. The Second area is in the South East side of the “JOGGING” field with the spreading direction in South – North. LMR inversion results the spreading of the second zone of hydrocarbon anomaly is mapped with the same direction with the result of Elastic Impedance 28° inversion. Meanwhile, the first anomaly zone mapped with different direction, namely in West – East. Hydrocarbon anomalies deployment in both inversion’s results show that hydrocarbon fluids in reservoir z.2260 is at the height of structures, so that the reservoir can be expected to have an anticline structure as a trap system.
