The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.
•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

“But Peter and the apostles said in reply ‘We must obey God rather than men. The God of our ancestors raised Jesus, though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as leader and savior to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins. We are witnesses of these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.’ So they left the Sanhedrin rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor
for the sake of the name.” How amazing that in such a short time following Peter’s denial, he boldly proclaimed his faith before the very same authority. He had no trouble stating that he and his companions were witnesses of the grace of the paschal mystery. The Easter time is most appropriate for all to consider what it means to be a witness and how we can make this same mystery relevant to our needy world. We remind ourselves of the basic steps. We have an encounter with the Risen Christ, through the scriptures, a special event, through one of His ministers. We are drawn to form a relationship with Him through prayer. This leads us to become like Peter, knowing the Christ and then willingly speak of Him, and His role in our lives. Consider for a moment. What if Peter’s talk had not been recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. What if he had failed to answer the question posed by Jesus – ‘Peter do you love me?’ Peter indicated he was a witness. Am I?
“Pedro, junto con los Apóstoles, respondió: ‘Hay que obedecer a Dios antes que a los hombres. El Dios de nuestros padres ha resucitado a Jesús, al que ustedes hicieron morir suspendiéndolo del patíbulo. A él, Dios lo exaltó con su poder, haciéndolo Jefe y Salvador, a fin de conceder a Israel la conversión y el perdón de los pecados. Nosotros somos testigos de estas cosas, nosotros y el Espíritu Santo que Dios ha enviado a los que le obedecen’. Los Apóstoles salieron del Sanedrín, dichosos de haber sido considerados dignos de padecer por el nombre de Jesús.”Es realmente extraordinario que en tan poco tiempo después de haberlo negado, Pedro proclamara su fe ante las mismas autoridades. No tuvo problema al afirmar que él y sus compañeros habían sido testigos de la gracia del misterio pascual. La Pascua es la época más apropiada para considerar lo que significa ser testigo y de cómo podemos hacer que este mismo misterio sea relevante en nuestro mundo lleno de necesidades. Nos recordamos de los pasos básicos. Tenemos un encuentro con el Cristo Resucitado, a través de las escrituras, un evento especial, a través de uno de Sus ministros. Somos atraídos a formar una relación con El a través de la oración. Esto nos lleva a volvernos como Pedro: conocemos a Cristo y luego estamos anuentes a hablar de El, de su importancia en nuestras vidas. Imagine por un momento que las palabras de Pedro no hubiesen sido escritas en los Hechos de los Apóstoles, que el no hubiese contestado la pregunta de Jesús: ‘¿Pedro, me amas?’ Pedro aseguró que él era un testigo. ¿Lo soy yo?
“La terza volta che Gesù si manifesta ai suoi, dopo la risurrezione, è densa di avvenimenti e di insegnamenti. Egli si ferma sulla riva del lago a cuocere il pesce per loro, e a presentarsi ancora come uno che serve, perché il Risorto è tutto Amore, Spirito vivificante. Ed è sull’amore che interroga Pietro. Non è un esame, ma solo una triplice affettuosa richiesta, all’uomo che per tre volte l’aveva rinnegato e che ciò nonostante doveva essere la prima pietra della sua Chiesa.
Di fronte alla debolezza di Pietro, soggetto ad alti e bassi, come un po’ tutti noi poveri mortali, si erge maestosa e commovente la fedeltà adamantina di Gesù all’uomo che aveva scelto. Ma a tutti noi quel dialogo umano fra Gesù e Pietro dice anche qualcosa di estremamente consolante. Ci dice cioè che, se erriamo, Gesù, una volta ravveduti, non ricorda il nostro sbaglio e vede in noi solo quello splendido disegno per il quale Dio ci ha creato. Questa è la misericordia di Dio! Pietro, forgiato dalle umiliazioni della tristissima prova fallita, si abbandona totalmente a Gesù. Come lui, anche noi esaminiamo il nostro cuore, per potergli dire e ripetere spesso: “Signore, tu sai tutto, tu sai che ti amo” (Gv 21,16).
