and Indiana, where he learned about law and politics. He was known
for lots of things in his life, like the process to President,
issuing the Emancipation Proclamation, and the Gettysburg Address.
INTRODUCTION
Slide 3
In 1860 he ran for president and ended up winning the election.
Chase, his enemy, did not like the idea and ran with Lincoln, and
since Chase did not win, he became Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court.
Slide 4
EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION With Lincoln starting the
Emancipation Proclamation, they referred to him as Savior of the
Union. Eventually they questioned and criticized Lincoln about him
and slavery and said the slaves freed themselves.
Slide 5
Emancipation Proclamation It took time for the proclamation to
come in effect but it did successfully, without any harm being
done.
Slide 6
GETTYSBURG ADDRESS His words in the Gettysburg Address
expressed grief for the dead and exaggerated the need to maintain
principles they had died to uphold. Abraham Lincoln also let people
see this war was for the slaves.
Slide 7
When the country needed a good military man as president,
Lincoln didnt have any experience, yet he led one of the bloodiest
wars America has had. With little experience in wars, he led the
war very well and made this very influential speech that had an
effect on many people. Gettysburg Address
Slide 8
Conclusion He changed, in time of need, how people observed the
war with little experience in becoming a president.
Slide 9
Conclusion Lincoln was a strong leader in our country at the
time and was fully aware of what was going on around him. From
hardly any experience at all, to leading a war as President, it
shows how much Abraham Lincoln has done to this country.
