As emanações vibratórias vi-ravam o estômago.

A Palavra e o PoetaNilton Bustamane

Continuei a caminhada, al-guns obstáculos.

Apenas me entreguei.

Eram duas cartas escritas.

Brazil Moves Up to 8th Largest Business Tra-vel Market in the World, Poised for Continued Growth

The GBTA Foundation, the education and rese-arch arm of the Global Business Travel Associa-tion (GBTA) - announces the results of its latest GBTA BTI(TM) Outlook - Brazil report, a semi--annual business travel outlook and overall eco-nomic analysis of Brazil. The report, sponsored by Visa Inc., includes the GBTA BTI(TM); an index of business travel spen-ding that distills market performance over a pe-riod of time.

Key highlights of the re-port include:Despite two quarters of weaker economic growth in 2013, GBTA projects total spending on business travel will grow 12.5 percent in 2014 to $37 billion USD,

and another 5.9 percent in 2015. The upcoming presidential elections could positively impact these numbers as well.• Annual spending on

business travel in Brazil has tripled sin-ce 2000.

• Brazil's business tra-vel industry moved up one spot in the rankings from last year to become the 8(th) largest business travel market in the world. If Brazil can get economic growth back on track, GBTA expects it to continue to climb the ranks of the top business tra-vel markets in the

world, likely surpas-sing South Korea and France during the next 10 years.• Domestic business

travel spending grow-th in Brazil has slowed significantly off its ag-gressive pace earlier in the decade, mostly due to the slowdown

in the once-charging domestic economy. GBTA expects domes-tic business travel spending will stren-gthen a bit in 2014, however, as firms and policymakers conti-nue to take strides to boost productivity and competitiveness. GBTA expects 12.3 percent growth in 2014 before it mode-rates to 5.4 percent in 2015.

• Growth in interna-tional outbound (IOB) business travel was hit hard in recent years mostly due to the ex-ternal environment, but the worstappears to be in the past as a recovery in the Euro Area, Brazil's largest trading partner, is underway. GBTA ex-pects IOB spending will advance 13.1 per-cent in 2014 followed by another 8.1 per-cent in 2015 hitting $7.2 billion USD.

GBTA Foundation Continues to Forecast Double Digit Growth for Brazil's Business Travel Spend in 2014

Page 15: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

"This forecast tellsa story of continuing positive growth in Brazil despi-te recent volatility," said Wellington Costa, presi-dent of GBTA Brazil. "The encouraging turnaround for international outbou-nd business travel spen-ding paired with expec-ted domestic growth as well shows suppliers and travel managers that Bra-zil is a key market to be in for businesses expanding globally."

"With the forecast for in-creased business travel to and from Brazil, tra-vel will continue to be an important sector of the Brazilian economy," said Percival Jatoba, Vice Pre-sident of Products of Visa Brazil. "Visa is committed to providing a secure, glo-

bally accepted payment option for business trave-lers, a vital step toward economic growth."

Infrastructure Growth Moving Forward With World Cup and Summer Olympics Looming Brazil continues its race to ex-pand infrastructure, par-ticularly transportation infrastructure, as the cou-ntry prepares to host the World Cup later this year and the Summer Olympics in 2016. In the World Eco-nomic Forum's 2012-2013 Global Competitiveness report, Brazil ranked 107 out of 144 countries for quality of infrastructure falling three spots from the previous year. Brazil seeks major improvement including modernization of ports, the expansion of

airports and the repair of crumbling highways, and is attempting to meet the-se challenges through pri-vatization. While it will be a challenge to complete these projects in time for the World Cup, these ef-forts should have signifi-cant impacts on trade and business travel in Brazil over the next decade.

World Cup Impact on Bu-siness Travel.Travel managers who al-ready have arrangements in place for travel du-ring the World Cup are in a good position. Those looking to make arrange-ments during that time-frame should act quickly as it's possible they could face higher prices and li-mited availability as the event nears.

Page 17: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

The Dinasty Piquet has made its mark in the US with a strong record of solid and important contribution to the Community, not only for the success they achieve in the Real Estate Busi-ness, but also for their unity as a family, that work together, setting for a great example.

LIDE is a successful entity in Brazil and it is part of The Doria Group, it is not a Chamber of Commerce it is, as the name says a Leadership Organization, tailored to CEOs and Presidents, to share their experience and expertise to better the practice of business and commerce, and also create awareness to several causes.

Gilson Rodrigues, owner at Vit-torio’s Restaurant and Gilson’s Restaurant his newest venue, hosted a large group of Brazi-lian Entrepreneurs from Cea-ra’-Brazil in Early April.

They have travelled from Bra-zil to the USA to learn more about business and visited Apple and Harley Davidson where they watched videos about the Companies and they had the opportunity to listen to Gilson’s History and experience as a valuable lesson.

They were a great group of pe-ople, avid to hear and learn everything they could, infor-mation about the Restaurant Business and his lifetime jour-ney as a Business Man.

In his story Gilson tells about his arrival to the USA at age 20, his will to work hard and catch his dream.

“Anyone can dream but not everyone finds a way to catch their dre-

am, and this is a fundamen-tal difference. You must be willing to work hard, and conquer all challenges, be-come legal, and be tireless.

He believes the first part is to

become legalized in order to get where you need to be and to achieve success. The immigration process is hard and expensive, requires a lot, then after this first step be able to open your business, establish your brand and work harder. Gilson believes that his success comes from his large ex-perience, his ability to listen to his clients, and never refuse a customer. His doors are always open, to friends, dedicated em-ployees and clients. His secret is dedication and vision.

He spoke about the process of building Gilson’s, his ultimate dream, and how important it was to use his own experience and self-confidence.

Many questions were asked, all about the structure, financial structure and employees profi-ling used to hire the right per-son, salary range etc. You could see they were interested to le-arn and maybe invest in Orlan-do in the near future. Gilson was applauded many times, his story is inspiring, encouraging, and invites people to dream like he did.

It was a great opportunity and we all learn a lot from him.

The meeting in Orlan-do was conducted in the Rotary Club Brazil Orlando Office, and it had the main purpo-se of meet and cause awareness about the Council’s mission and purpose.

The most important aspect of this meeting was to make it clear that both The Consu-late and the Council want to facilitate the interaction between the Brazilian Commu-nity and them, in order to present solutions to many of the problems that Brazilian Citizens have and find it diffi-cult to solve.

The dynamic between Brazilian citizens and government entities abroad, needed a me-diator and that is what will happen starting with the mapping and all data they will be doing in order to get closer from many Bra-zilian citizens that are residents in The State of Florida and need a better representation.

Brazilians are in fa-vor of a representation

that will really bring their questions to the table and will try to solve them without a political agenda.

The choice to bring some community lea-ders to the council, gi-ves a re-enforcement to the theory that these leaders will be able to fight for their commu-nity.

The Itamaraty (Minis-tery of External Affairs for the Brazilian Go-vernment) Jurispru-dence, decided that the presence of leaders from Miami and Orlan-do in the Council was of extreme importance due to the urgency of this project.

For more than 20 years now, Brazilians come to the US and many times their needs are not met for, lack of communication, infor-mation and even exces-sive distance to make it viable a visit to the Consulate.

This must change, as also the presence of the Consulate in Orlando. It is already predicted

by law, but it must be approved by the Bra-zilian Senate, and this may take some time, unless the people put pressure on the issue.

There are many Bra-zilian Citizens in Or-lando and their voice must be heard on the matter. The Council was able to bring the Brazilian Presidential Elections to voters in Orlando that no longer will have to travel to Miami to vote.

This was a great step and the council was heard. It is important also to mention that not all Countries give their people a repre-sentation other than a Consulate or Embassy. Brazil is a pioneer in this type of initiative, and we must recognize that. The Council me-etings are every two months, at the Consu-late of Miami and also in Orlando.

Superstation Dinner in Orlando Brings Great Surprises.

Superstation Media-Joaquim & Yara Cavaignac -Exclusives Representatives of Globo International in the US, Latin America and Caribe

Jo and Ivy Bernard Comedian Amadeu Maya- Globo

Page 57: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

Superstation Media – Globo Interna-tional USA, Latin America and Caribe sole representatives, Joaquim & Yara Cavaignac come to Orlando one more time to share the great News. As Yara says the good and the bad, but in a whole, the powerful Globo has a lot to celebrate.

From the Network point of view, the packages for advertisement have the same perks of last year, and the en-forcement comes from a series of new shows and novelas that are coming to help pull the younger audience, and fa-milies to the front of the TV, and join the other millions of consumers they already have. And it is great! The more the merrier, since GloboTV now has conquered the title of Second Biggest Network in the World, and that is an undeniable advantage.

Superstation Media is for sure a great representation of Globo International, has done it for a long time, and leaves no space for any doubt.

Globo International has a powerful line of shows, the appeal and the market that was opened by the millions of Bra-zilians that now live abroad is so strong that it became a huge source of spec-tators and therefore consumers. Com-panies need advertisement, and adver-tisement requires a demand that not everyone can attend. Globo penetrates

millions of homes every day at any gi-ven time of the day, it is a perfect mat-ch. You do the math, I have the product, you have the public, let’s do business.

Globo International represented by Superstation Media provides an open door to the Brazilian Market, in land or overseas, giving companies the exposu-re to reach the Brazilian Consumer in Brazil, in the USA, Latin America or Caribe.

Right now in the Brazilian headquar-ters, a new line of shows was created to suit all different targets. The series “A grande Familia” (Big Family) is in its last season, with a lot of sadness by all that followed the show for so many ye-ars, but in the other hand a lot of good is coming our way, and it all promises to fulfill the spectator needs, and keep the audience growing.

Superstation Media once again delive-red the news and we are looking opti-mistic towards another year of pure emotion, with the World Soccer Cup that this time will be in the hands of another Network-ESPN and Univision, but nothing is perfect, and we just have to accept it and make the best of it. For now, we are glade we are a part of this great event and hope for a great success in Miami on Monday, the event is filled with surprides and we are sure will be great.

THE BEST SURPRISE OF THE NIGHT !

Page 64: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

We had a weekend to remem-ber in Orlando ! Saturday with a great event at Gilson’s -The CFBACC First Annual Feijoa-da, on Sunday the Superstation Dinner at Nelore Steakhouse in Winter Park, and what could top that all with a cherry?! A surprise that Superstation im-ported from Brazil, The BIBA!

A BIBA do Faustão! A busi-ness meeting, where everyone is paying attention, serious, looking at all the great news and Yara says, let’s Bring out-the BiBA! At a first moment I am thinking, who could it be, because away from Brazil for so long, I don’t follow the shows and new trends in Brazil, but believe me it caused an impact! Biba is a character created by comedian Amadeu Maya, origi-nally from Ceara’-Brazil.

Amadeu has passed by major TV Networks in the past, and it is well known, but now he fou-nd his home at Globo Tv-Brazil and every Sunday makes his presence at Domingão do Faus-tão, a very popular show among Brazilians.

At the first moment everyone was kind of in chock from the

unexpected arrival, of a guy dressed all in pink! But after a few seconds he just broke the ice, and from there was all lau-gh! All of us, the audience, we were just waiting for more, but he had to go, the show was co-ming to an end.

It was wonderful! BiBA Rocks and made us all remember how good it is to laugh at things in our own language. I asked Ama-deu the creator and imperso-nator of BiBA, how did he find her, and he said she found Me! And it is a great persona! BiBA is happy, funny, and she is not afraid to be who she is! She was the light of the party and we hope she comes back soon, to make us all laugh till we drop!BIBA Conquered Orlando!

Marcos has a large experience in the field and has participated as a reporter in the most important world events in the field. Working with Globo TV for 13 years, gave him the chance to wit-ness many great moments in the sports realm.

He has in his mind and heart all the greatest memories of breaking mo-ments, interviews and unforgettable personalities, such as the last Olympics in England where he had the opportu-nity to speak with many athletes, and all of them ended the Olympic Games as Gold medalists, such as Michael Phelps.

He also spoke with Soccer Star David Beckham, and he considers this one of the greatest in his reporter career.

The choice to come to America came with the need to learn more, study and be a part of this Country where the sports world is so vast and rich. He re-flected about the USA powerful force holding the highest number of Olym-pic medals, until the Olympic Games in Pequim, where China showed a strong participation, conquering a higher number of medals, but today, this is al-ready reversed, and the USA is again a leader. Marcos admires this force and determination, he fells in the USA, the athlete has more respect, more chances of success. Education walks along with sports, and it is rewarded with endless possibilities of scholarships, a great ca-

reer, and endorsements.

Marcos says : “ I hoped that by now Bra-zil would have learned from the US ex-ample and copied the American system, favoring the athlete’s education and al-lowing him to succeed on both, a career in Sports and Educational.”

It is often seen today, where many young athletes in Brazil, that are a promise to their teams, are not encouraged to study and get a college education, it is import-ant for them to be given this opportu-nity, but sadly it is not the way it is, and there are no signs of change.

Marcos recently joined the Orlando City Soccer as a Portuguese narrator for all the In house games, and is now settling with his family in Orlando, and also going for his MBA. The Orlando City Lions is transmitting the games in Portuguese, live through the Internet and this has brought the interest of new fans to the team that want to be a greater part of it, want to participate live in the transmissions, and that is a huge step for the team that hopes to bring many Brazilian fans to Orlando.

Bring Marcos is one of the great efforts to bring the OCS closer to the Brazilian community here and abroad, that own-er Flavio Augusto da Silva made, since he became the major investor.

Page 72: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

Everything is taking place to launch by 2015, when the new major stadium will be ready for the season of 2016. We are hoping to see a few Brazilian Soccer stars rein-forcing the team also.

Talking about the World Soc-cer Cup, Mar-cio mentioned that Brazil lost a great opportu-nity to show the world its poten-tial as a Struc-tured, exempla-ry organizer of this event to just show a great par-ty, and disregard the opportunity of leaving a cul-

tural legacy for years to come. Most projects that were created for the event never became a reality. But it is undeniable that the worldwide impact will be great and no matter what the outcome, everybody will see it.Marcio is very excited with his new life here, and he is looking forward to the success of the Orlando City and we are glad we met and could talk . We wish him all the success. Laiz Rodrigues-Editor in Chief

Lone Sailor Memorial Honors Orange County’s Military and Veterans

Page 83: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs re-cently joined citizens in honoring veterans and active military personnel at the

Lone Sailor Navy Memorial Groundbreak-ing Ceremony and the Central Florida Navy League of the United States Annual

Wounded Warrior Walk, Run, and Roll at Blue Jacket Park. “As the former site of the legendary Naval Training Center, it is fit-ting that we now have a memorial to hon-or the courage and patriotic service of the thousands of young men and women who called Orange County home during their military training,” said Mayor Jacobs. “This is a way of making sure that every service man or woman that is serving today knows how much we appreciate their devotion to our country.”

Page 84: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

Mayor Jacobs was also joined by Con-gressman Daniel Webster, Congressman John Mica, District 4 Commissioner Jen-nifer Thompson, City of Orlando Com-missioner Robert Stuart, other elected officials and community leaders in the groundbreaking of the new Lone Sailor Memorial.

The monument is the 14th Lone Sail-or Memorial in the nation and the first to be placed on former Navy property. It memorializes Orlando's Naval Train-ing Center which was used for enlisted recruits from 1965 through 1995. More than 650,000 sailors trained at the facili-ty, which brought in more than $500 mil-lion to Orlando’s economy, according to the Central Florida Navy League.

The Lone Sailor statue, created by Stan-ley Bleifeld who is the U.S. Navy Memo-rial's official sculptor, will contain two pieces – the Sailor, who stands 7 feet tall and weighs approximately 1,000 pounds, and his sea bag and cleat weighing 700 pounds.

As part of the casting process, the bronze for the Lone Sailor will be mixed with ar-tifacts from eight U.S. Navy ships provid-ed by the curator for the Navy in the Na-val Historical Center of the Washington Navy Yard.

Disney Parks Around the World Celebrated the 50th Anniversary of 'it's a small world' with Global Sing-along, on last April 10

Celebration Continues Virtually at Small-World50.com, Where Fans Record 'It's a Small World' Song and Design Dolls to Ben-efit UNICEF.Anaheim-California, Lake Buena Vis-

ta-Florida, Tokyo, Paris, and Hong Kong.

Celebrating the 50(th) anniversary of Disney's "it's a small world" theme park attraction, thousands of guests and cast members at Disney Parks around the globe united today in a historic "It's a Small World" sing-along.

Fans everywhere joined in online at SmallWorld50.com, a "global hub" of mu-sic and harmony created for the Golden Anniversary of the iconic attraction that opened as a tribute to peace and hope, saluting UNICEF, at the 1964 New York World's Fair.

“’It’s a Small World’ has inspired hun-dreds of millions of people through its timeless theme,” said Tom Staggs, chair-man, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “Every moment of every day there are Disney guests enjoying ‘it’s a small world’ somewhere around the globe. The 50th anniversary of this attraction represents a celebration of the shared optimism, hope, and humanity of people through-out the world.”

Throughout the day, Disney Parks guests participated in events in all five resorts around the world, including in-park sing-alongs, cavalcades and special musical performances. Richard M. Sherman, the Oscar®-winning songwriter who com-posed “It’s a Small World” with his late brother, Robert, led a sing-along at Disn-eyland Park in California and participat-ed in a Google Hangout that can be seen at SmallWorld50.com.

Going into Thurs-day's events, vis-itors from more than 150 nations had already joined the cele-bration at: www.SmallWorld50 .com

They have de-signed enough digital dolls and recorded enough videos of them-selves singing the song to reach half of Disney's goal on the site, and they will contin-ue to play along through May 30.

Disney will do-nate $150,000 to benefit UNICEF as part of the an-niversary cele-bration, plus $1 for every video or doll created, up to $100,000.

Page 97: Aboutus by hotspotorlando#33

The Planet needs Eyes that feel For The Heart! Suzana JardimHow was the beginning of photo-graphy in your life?It was in my teens I started to become interested in photo-graphy, first to register a few " moments " of my life and then as the need to express my vi-sion of the world and express some feelings .

How is to deal with the emotion of the moment, and with the tech-nique of photography at the same time? The emotion of the situation is the focal point and is my prio-rity at the moment of captu-ring the image. Technique, the mastery of light framing and other technical options are critical but should be innate, should not interfere with the " feeling" capture the moment. The technique is at the service of emotion.

In what context your photos have been recognized worldwide ?Versatility is a characteristic of my work. However in re-cent times the theme " Nazaré and surf the big waves " have given me some visibility after the publication in the media

" and websites such as " Billa-bong " " The Inertia " " The Post Rider " and " The Daily Mirrow" among others. Yet recognition is just a nice re-sult of my work.

What are the moments that gave you the most satisfaction in docu-menting ?Every moment can be exciting. Sometimes a simple natural reason is what gives me more pleasure in photographing. But I recognize that the cap-ture of a surfer to dominate a wave of 30 meters is an exci-ting myth.

What exactly are the elements water, air , fire, earth , animal and human world ...All these elements motiva-te me, because everyone can have a beautiful and explo-re the hidden motive. At this point one more photograph is water. But say a beautiful set-ting can be an a beach with a sunset ocean rises with some animal elements is the gathe-ring of all these elements .

The Story

In 1999, WaterCar started as a person-al challenge to build the world’s fastest amphibious vehicle. Our early Water-Cars were purpose-built vehicles, to be very fast on both land and water.

After January, 2010, when Watercar established the Guinness amphibious speed record with the Python model, their attention turned to reliability and they began designing a vehicle to offer to the public.

Fourteen years, countless successes and failures, 27 patents and untold la-bor hours later, all personal challenges have been achieved.

The Panther, the first WaterCar to be offered to the public, was created by the Watercar team which is made up of top designers and technicians from Fountain Valley Bodyworks, one of the largest, most state-of-the-art collision repair shops in the nation.

Throughout the Panther’s develop-ment, the commitment was to engi-neer a versatile amphibious vehicle built with proven off-the-shelf compo-

nents that are recognizable throughout the automotive and marine industry. The Watercar team has achieved that goal.

During the development years, theyw-ere continuously approached by peo-ple around the world who wished to purchase a WaterCar. While theywere flattered by the apparent market accep-tance, it was not felt that they attained a level of reliability and maintainabili-ty consistent with their personal stan-dards and those of many prospective buyers. It was difficult to say no for all those years, but the team was adamant that they would not sell a product that they would not purchase themselves.

In 2013, the team realized the Panther achieved the quality, reliability, and maintainability that allowed them to offer the Panther for purchase.

Each Panther is a custom vehicle built by a incredible team of professionals who take great pride in what they build and how it ultimately performs. Each one is unique. Co. Site: http://water-car.fountainvalleybodyworks.com/

Campari presents the new Art Labels limited edition, a modern reinterpretation of a number of works by Fortu-nato Depero, one of the most representative artists of the Futurist movement who had a long association with Cam-pari.

Three collectible labels are the protagonists of the Cam-pari limited edition and summarize three moments strongly related to the opti-mal consumption of the prod-uct: the preparation of a per-fect cocktail, the pleasure of enjoying a Campari and its tasting.

The first label was inspired by a black and white ink sketch made on paper in 1928. It was a graphic study made for Campari, closely recall-ing aperitif time, revisited and re-colored, presented on a green background with the color red in strong evidence.

The second label on a yellow background depicts a collage dating back to 1927. The image takes up a sketch, the origi-nal of which is kept in the ar-chive of the Galleria Campa-ri collection, created by the artist with colored pencils. It represents the pleasure and passion of enjoying a Cam-pari: the most evident detail of the portrayed character is his heart, which is colored as the liquid in the glass.

The third Art Label, which completes the collection, on a purple background, the only one already created in color, is a 1928 illustration created by Depero with the collage technique. The work depicts the iconic little man of Dep-ero during the tasting of a Campari. The combination of colors has a particular impact and is also emphasized by the red liquid of the product.

Andrea Conzonato, Chief Marketing Officer, Gruppo Campari, commented: “The new Art Labels want to be a tribute to a great artist, For-tunato Depero, who worked extensively with Campari and produced truly unique works of art, connected with the brand by an unbreakable bond. Much of the artist’s pro-duction is kept at the Galleria Campari collection and is a piece of art history and of the company’s communications. The aim is to pay homage to the brand’s tradition and cel-ebrate it in a new and original way by reinterpreting an art movement that still today is contemporary and very mod-ern. Thus, Campari wants to present its consumers with a special collection that is a testimony to the strong inno-vative nature of the brand”.

The Campari Art Labels will initially be available in Italy from May 2014 and in the rest of the world thereafter.

What's good Orlando? Things are really going good for South Coast re-cords. We just rele-ased three albums on three of our ar-tist, we have vide-os being released all this month and we are very plea-sed to announce that we just signed a contract for label management and distribution with Sony Red.

What does this mean for SCR, well it means that are taking the next step as a label. Every-thing starts as an idea, then once the mission starts, we evolve slowly but surely.

As CEO of South Co-ast Records, I'm so proud of our team and I'm equally ex-cited about our fu-ture. The point to

this month's arti-cle is that whate-ver you want in life not matter how big or small, it can be achieved. No one in this world will do it for you. You have to believe in your vision and work extra hard to stay on coarse.

Just 5 years ago we were trying to find our way in the local market and now it looks like we will moving our artist be outside of the Orlando market to tour and gain ex-perience outside of our city.

We would like to thank you all for your support be-cause without you, we would not be heard. Please take time to download all of the new music that we have to offer and

as always thank you for reading my article. Real Talk, Real Music, Sou-th Coast Records. (SCR).

The TOEIC Program recently launched Why English Matters, a new content-based website that seeks to build awareness and share informa-tion about the important role that English-language proficiency plays in the global economy.

Why English Matters features a new video documentary series that ex-plores the role of English through in-terviews with human resource manag-ers and decision makers from leading global organizations. The site also features related research and news articles about the impact of effective English communication skills for the international workforce.

“Since English is the official language of more than 70 countries, it is crucial for businesses that operate in a global economy to maintain a labor pool that is composed of competent English language communicators,” said David Hunt, Vice President and Chief Oper-ating Officer of ETS’s Global Division. “Through the Why English Matters site, we can provide these important stakeholders with the most relevant, up-to-date information and resources for developing and maintaining a ca-

The website was designed to engage all types of individuals, groups and organizations looking to leverage the power of English in the global econ-omy, including companies, business leaders, human resources managers, news organizations and academic in-stitutions.

“The website’s use-friendly platform was designed to make it easy for vis-itors to share the knowledge and ma-terials that it holds,” said Shelly Pun-chatz, ETS’s Executive Director of Marketing. “Visitors to the site can share information through social me-dia platforms in order to cultivate conversations around the importance of English language learning.”

"It" Girl Jourdan Dunn is the New Face for Maybelline New York

Maybelline New York announced today that London bred beauty Jourdan Dunn is their new-

est spokesmodel. Jourdan will be joining an elite group of Maybelline models which includes Christy Turlington, Em-ily DiDonato and a host of others.

"Jourdan's look, style and positive energy are perfect for the Maybelline New York brand," said Jerome Bruhat, Global Brand President of Maybelline New York. "She truly reflects May-belline's vision of global beauty."

Jourdan was first discovered by a model scout while out with friends. She was signed soon after and made her runway debut during the 2007 Fall New York Fashion Week. As a featured model in British Vogue, labeled as a "new star" and named "Top 10 Newcomer" by style.com later that same year, Jourdan was on the road to success very early in her career.

"It is an honor to be a spokesperson for such an iconic brand," said Jourdan. "I am proud to say that I am a Maybelline girl and hopefully I can make people feel the same way I did when I saw the advertisements growing up. The brand imag-ery is always beautiful and positive. To now be a part of that is a dream come true!"

Jourdan has since lit up the runways for Prada, Christian Dior, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta, Miu Miu, Balenciaga, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Burberry, Lan-

vin, Hermes, Givenchy, Valentino, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Balmain to name a few. She has appeared in the American, British, Paris, Italian, Japanese and Russian editions of Vogue. She has graced the pages of notable fashion magazines W, Numero, Allure, i-D, V, POP, and Dazed & Confused. She has been a part of various cam-paigns for ck Calvin Klein, CK1 fragrance, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry, Burberry Beauty, Gap, DKNY, H&M, Express, Aldo, Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger, Rag & Bone, Topshop, John Galliano and Benetton among others.

When she is not modeling, Jourdan is a proud mother to her son Riley who was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. This has led to Jourdan's ac-tive involvement as the Parent Ambassador for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. In addition to being a mother and philanthropist, Jourdan is a self-taught cook. She hosts a lifestyle and cooking program titled "Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn." The show is available through Jay Z's YouTube channel, Life+Times, and fea-tures a different celebrity guest each episode.

Jourdan will make her Maybelline New York de-but in print and television advertising campaigns in April 2014.
