HEALTH SERVICES Hazardous works Independent EHS Services provides a range of health services including, health surveillance, monitoring and review. We can assist you to meet and ensure your duties and obligations are met by reviewing your current process and providing advice as per the applicable state and territory mandatory legislative requirements, National standards and Australian and New Zealand specific standards where there is a risk of respiratory disease.

RPE Fit testing Independent EHS Services has been involved in the implementation and fit testing process since 2017 and was involved in the Stonemason (RCS) campaign implemented by WHS QLD as result of workers dying from preventative respirable diseases. There are to forms of fit testing Qualitative (QLFT) and Quantitative (QNFT). Independent EHS services only undertakes (QNFT) fit testing to ensure the mask is tight-fitting and proven by a numerical measure of leakage factor. The ASNZS 1715:2009 does not require the fit test administrator to be certified, just to know how to conduct the test, recognize and invalid tests, and properly clean and maintain equipment. Note: Experience does matter when it comes to ensuring your business continuity and the reduction of workers comp claims as the ASNZS 1715:2009 states clearly the duties and obligations a PCBU must undertake when providing RPE as a control measure in Section 2. A PCBU shall implement a respiratory protection program which includes but no limited to the following:

Worksite Audit Inspections and Reports Worksite audits provide recommendations for improvement in safety procedures, safe plant and equipment. Our professionally trained and highly experienced OHS Consultants can undertake safety audits at your site or at multiple sites. Tender Development and Management Using a contractor does not absolve your business from workplace health and safety laws or other duties and obligations. It is important contractors have a clear understanding of the requirements of your organisation and project and have the same vision and understanding to ensure the works are undertaken in a complainant and safe manner. If you are a main PCBU and contract works out and fail to review your customers safety related documentation as a duty holder your will be accountable for not ensuring a safe workplace. From humble beginnings OHS&E was discussed at the dinner table. It was not until life changing events latter on in life that set-in motion the direction to where independent EHS services become reality.

A keen eye for detail and systematic approach has enabled David the ability to work with key national and international commercial builders, on some of the most iconic projects within South East QLD. (Abby Group/Lendlease/Laing O’Rourke/ Multiplex) A diverse range of projects where highest order of controls were required from implementation to completion included the development of aged care facilities, hospitals, airport & civil infrastructure, bridges and residential and commercial towers. David’s ability to lead, manage develop teams and change culture seen him take on the state managers role within a leading insurance building company where the diverse range of activities carried out daily such as Make safe, Roof Restoration, Flood Damage, Meth Lab, Fire and Mould removal projects enabled David to empower his team to take ownership and implement best practice even when in his absence and consistently provide details WHS reports as required. David’s ability to interpret legislation and be abreast WHS campaigns prior to there implementation seen stakeholders such as WHS QLD utilise benchmarks already implemented on his projects to assist in their ongoing campaigns such as the young worker code of practice and the current campaign Silicosis.
