ABOUT USJust Gourmet Foods was founded with a simple mission in mind - to bring good, clean artisan Italian food brands to the UK.

Our southern Italian roots combined with a passion for the Italian peninsula and all things epicurean, means we are able to team up with artisan producers to bring food with real provenance as well as undiscovered gems of Italian food culture to the UK.

We have some simple but serious criteria when sourcing product:• They need to be truly stellar in their category

• They must be organic wherever possible

• They must not contain additives or preservatives – the product on its own needs to tell its story

We supply a wide range of products across the food spectrum including a variety of regional Italian extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegar from Modena, organic pasta, special pasta, gluten free pasta, pasta sauces, antipasti, savoury bread items, sweet treats and jams and spreads.

Oro Don Vincenzo produce three varieties of award winning extra virgin olive oil: the evergreen il Classico, the delightful DOP Lametia and the new eco-friendly Bio Organic.

The story dates back to the beginning of the last century when the family patriarch Vincenzo, a doctor who believed in the extraordinary health benefits of olive oil, continued the cultivation of the olive trees of Tenuta Angillito, once belonging to the local church.

Purest expression of undisturbed nature the Bio Organic is an extra virgin olive oil that returns to the palate the hidden gifts of Calabria. The fresh fruity aroma with notes full of almond, artichoke and chicory helps to rediscover the essence of lost distant flavours. The Carolea olives are harvested at the end of September and this is a full-bodied oil.

DOP LAmeTiA 500ml

An extra virgin olive oil dedicated to roots of Calabrian land, recalling typical Mediterranean aromas. A mosaic of herbs and citrus fruits accompanied by sensations of chili pepper and artichokes characterise the unique and intense flavour of the DOP Lametia. The Carolea olives are harvested mid-October and this is a medium-delicate oil.

Sunshine flavours characterise the Carolea olives used for Il Classico. Fresh cherry tomatoes and chili peppers on a summer day, notes of bitter almonds and walnuts, elevate this extra virgin olive oil with powerful sensations, giving character to the simplest of ingredients. The Carolea olives are harvested in November and this is a delicate oil.

The Passalacqua family have been farming their 5,000 hectares of land at the foot of the Gargano National Park for decades. Their land enjoys climatic conditions that are ideal for growing vegetables and fruit, ensuring the availability of each product in its season, a characteristic that is one of the strengths of BioOrto produce.To obtain an olive oil of the best possible quality from Bio Orto’s centuries old trees, production is rigorously controlled at every stage. The olives are picked when they are perfectly mature. They are pressed within 6 to 8 hours of picking, using a highly automated pressing and mixing system, at a controlled constant temperature of 27°c, the extra virgin olive oil obtained this way is then stored in stainless-stell silos, in a controlled environment, and is then bottled and packed.

This oil is unique in terms of its quality. The balance between bitterness and spiciness, its moderate fruitiness and its low level of acidity make it one of the most treasured extra virgin olive oils. The Artesia family have been producing traditional Sicilian pastas sauces since 1970. Agromonte benefit from both bio-climatic conditions and fertile land to produce naturally sweet cherry tomatoes, picked only at the right time during summer months. Once picked, the tomatoes are cooked according to an old secret family recipe, a recipe that originates from a traditional Sicilian artisan method of making this type of pasta sauce. Only fresh raw materials go in to the sauce and they combine perfectly to allow the natural red cherry tomato colour to be prominent, whilst also preserving its precious organoleptic properties.

Since 1909 the Mussini family has been devoted to the craft of producing the highest quality balsamic vinegars. Balsamic is a unique vinegar, produced in limited amounts and in a narrow geographic area. Only in the Secchia and Panaro valleys Lambrusco and Trebbiano grapes grow, from which the musts needed for fermentation is obtained. This is the only area where there are high temperature changes between hot summers and cold winters that allow balsamic vinegars to age and ferment and finally only here can you find people that are capable through centuries of tradition to wait for the necessary years to truly enjoy this formidable product. This culture is still strong in Casa Mussini, where balsamic vinegars are produced exclusively from Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes.

The right choice of Pasta. Don’t take any chances! To every recipe its own pasta, like the Italian tradition taught us.The right pot. One litre of water every 100g of pasta. That’s why we need the right pot!The right sauce. Every sauce gives its best if matched with the right pasta. The right amount of salt. It’s not a random amount, every 100g of pasta, 7g of salt! You’ve got to wait until the water is boiling before adding the salt. If the sauce is particularly tasty, we suggest reducing the salt.The right timing. Follow the cooking time indicated on the package. (Even better if you drain the pasta a bit earlier, allowing yourself a few extra minutes to stir it with the sauce a little!)

The magic of the simplest of pasta sauces, the result of a careful choice of ingredients: organic tomatoes, enriched with the delicate perfume of fresh basil leaves and extra virgin olive oil.

This sauce contains only selected fresh organic vegetables: aubergines, zucchini, and bell peppers with a tomato base. A simple recipe, with pure and natural ingredients, this sauce should be eaten with short pasta (ideal with farfalle, penne or fusilli).

L’Origine have been producing artisanal, organic and biodynamic pasta since 1985 from their headquarters up in the beautiful Berici hills. 1. The making of the doughThe buckwheat flour and/ or the durum wheat semolina – depending on the product to be obtained – is poured in the first tank of the press. Spring water is then added so that the mixture results well moisturised. At this point the entire creating process of proteins begins. They will be the core and structure of our final product.

2. Pasta productionThe pasta maker decides the right time to put the dough into the second tank of the press. At this point the drawing of the dough begins. It is done by extrusion through a bronze die. The desired shape is achieved as well as that characteristic rough surface typical of the texture of homemade pasta that allows the dressing to stick perfectly to the product.

3. Drying the pastaThis is one of the most critical points to obtain a high quality pasta. A slow static drying process carried out at low temperature was chosen by Pasta Negri as the best one. The drying may last from 12 to 24 hours depending on the type of pasta. Temperature never exceeds 50°C. to preserve the nutritional and organoleptic properties.

4. Product packagingEven the packaging is done by hand: every single packet is filled, weighed and heat-sealed allowing an accurate quality control of the final product.

Acacia honey is considered the sweetener par excellence. It has an extremely soft taste and its vanilla and light aromas give it a pleasantly delicate flavour of sugared almonds. This very fine honey has a transparent to pale straw yellow colour with slightly floral notes of new wax and cooked pear.

Eucalyptus honey has strong flavours of liquorice, persistent on the palate, particularly sweet and never too intrusive. This honey has a dark amber colour and is fine and compact which results in a malt and caramelized taste with notes of earth and glutamate.

A moderately sweet honey, gently acidic and with a pleasant and almost imperceptible bitter note. A soft honey, with a very light golden colour, aromatic and pleasantly acidulous taste characterised by floral notes. Cold use is recommended as it helps to enhance its organoleptic characteristics.

This Chestnut honey is not very sweet and has a strong acid and astringent note that makes it very special. What’s special? It is slightly tannic. This fine honey has an amber to very dark colour that is intense in taste and smell; it is characterised by aromatic, pungent, vegetal and vaguely herbaceous notes.

A gentle sweet honey with a strong bitter aftertaste. This fine honey is brown or amber in colour and has a strong fresh vegetable and caramelized sugar taste with notes that are characteristic of balsamic, resinous and slightly smoky.

A delicate honey in taste and aroma, it has notes of vegetables that result in a favourable taste. Sulla honey is very high and rich in nutrients and vitamins.

A golden-orange coloured honey that becomes pearl like when it crystallizes. It is a dense and compact honey with a wonderfully balanced sweet and sour taste. It is ideal with pecorino cheese.

A light amber coloured honey. This honey has a fresh, sweet and aromatic flavour that is reminiscent of mountain herbs and mint.

Wildflower honey is distinctly sweet and delicate, and it is thanks to this that it is reminiscent of sugar syrup flavour. It has an intense vegetal aftertaste similar to fruit jellies and wild berry jam. A fine and compact honey that is opaque yellow in colour with vegetable and fruity notes.
