Since our formation in 1997 we have establishedourselves as one of the country’s leading suppliersof limestone products for the constructionindustry.

Our aim at the start was to supply high qualitylimestone walling and cut stone products todevelopers of executive housing. Through timeand constant re-investment in high quality andtechnologically advanced production facilities, wehave been able to expand our product range.

Probably our most significant investment was thepurchase of the famous Clipsham MedwellsLimestone Quarry. This has guaranteed oursupply of the finest quality limestone, and alsoenables us to offer block stone to thestonemasonry industry.

About Us

Our production facilities run 24 hours a day /7 days a week to enable us to produce1200m2 of walling stone per week.

It is produced using sawn, cropped andtumbled techniques, a modern technique fortraditional looking walling stone. It is sawnon two sides for ease of use, the face is thencropped by guillotine leaving a textured faceexposing the shell formations, finally it istumbled to remove any sharp edges andgive a more attractive finish.

Each stone goes through strict qualitycontrol before being neatly stacked onpallets.

Our walling stone is 110mm on bed and weoffer four course heights; 140mm, 115mm,90mm and 65mm in Clipsham, Greethamand Ironstone. It is cropped in randomlengths for a traditional look.

We operate the Clipsham Medwell quarry, tothe north of Stamford in Lincolnshire. Thepresent quarry was opened in 1903 by theMedwell family.

Blocks are extracted from the quarry face byplugs and feathers after drilling. The quarryhas never been blasted, ensuring that theblocks leave the quarry in perfect condition.Clipsham Medwell quarry is unique becausethe quarry beds that we extract walling stonefrom (Beds A-F, collectively known as bed 2)are very similar in colour and compositionmaintaining continuity in our supply.

Beds 3 and 4 contain a hard limestone with aclose pore structure. Although physicallystronger, this stone is less durable in highlyexposed areas, thus these beds are ideal forinternal flooring.

Blocks available at 2 - 10 tonnes, withapproximately 12ft3 per tonne. Investment ina Fantini bridge chain saw in 2004 at thequarry allows us not only to supply premiumblocks, but also, sawn 2 side blocks,minimising waste leaving the quarry.
